The dawn of the next day marked the fourteenth day of the apocalypse and the second day of October. Zombies were advancing to level 1, with some on the brink of evolving to level 2. The near-level 2 zombie they had previously encountered would have likely made the leap if Lee Yuanhong hadn't cunningly eliminated it. Facing such a threat now could result in serious casualties.
