C6 Equipment Upgrade
First off, I raided the kitchen. Even though we hardly ever cook, there's no shortage of cooking gear. I stumbled upon a nearly new frying pan – it must have been that young couple's purchase for steak nights, but after a couple of uses, it ended up as just another piece of decor. I detached the handle and strung it up with rope across my chest, creating a decent makeshift breastplate. Next, I grabbed the pan's lid and with a few tweaks, turned it into an arm shield. I unscrewed the dumbbell from the mop handle and swapped in a sharp kitchen knife, instantly fashioning a makeshift spear.
After scouring the kitchen, I moved on to the couple's room. The setup was simple and a bit disheveled, yet it still radiated a cozy charm. Sadly, the homeowners were no longer with us. The room's contents were similar to mine, offering little in the way of an equipment upgrade. Just as I was about to leave, a flash of white caught my eye from behind the door.
It was several pieces of foam plastic board, leftovers from the couple's move, perfect for reinforcing my cardboard armor. I trimmed the foam and secured it inside my cardboard armor with thick thread. This not only prevented sweat from soaking through but also lessened the impact of any blows.
With my upgrades complete, I checked my watch for the stats on my improvised arsenal:
"Rough Cardboard Armor (Modified)
Defense: 3 Durability: 5
Effective against scratches and bites, with a 2-point cushion against blunt force."
"Frying Pan Chest Protector
Defense: 3 Durability: 15
Repurposed from a frying pan, it offers solid protection against attacks of 3 points or less."
"Frying Pan Lid Arm Shield
Defense: 2 Durability: 10
Crafted from a frying pan lid, it provides a fair defense against scratches and bites."
"Improvised Kitchen Knife Spear
Attack: 1-3 Durability: 5
A combination of a mop handle and a sharp knife, it's suitable for stabbing. Its damage output is minimal for slashing and bludgeoning."
The weapons still seemed underpowered. It looked like I'd need to keep an eye out for better arms during my next supply run.
