C16 Wild Beast

Witnessing the spectacle before him, Elder Mo's face flushed with embarrassment. His granddaughter was utterly spoiled. Could one really learn to find hidden treasures so casually?

And there was no need for her to compromise her dignity like that!

Yet, Elder Mo wasn't truly opposed to the idea. Liu Gaang seemed like a decent young man, with an impressive knack for spotting opportunities at such a young age. He was bound to have a bright future.

"This..." Liu Gaang stammered, finding himself in a bind. It wasn't that he was unwilling to teach; he simply lacked the know-how, relying solely on his peculiar powers.

"Hmph! Such a miser, not even willing to share your treasure-hunting tricks," Zhang Xiaoli huffed.

Liu Gaang was at a loss for words. How could he teach something that was beyond explanation, let alone reveal his special abilities to this girl?

When it came time to settle the bill after dinner, Guo Yong's credit card nearly maxed out. The meal had racked up a bill of over 160,000 yuan, even after a discount.

Guo Yong felt as though his three years of hard work had vanished, plunging him back to square one.

Upon departing from the Celestial Eternity Great Hotel, Elder Mo's chauffeur was already waiting at the door. Elder Mo boarded the vehicle and was whisked away.

Mo Xiaoyu, still fixated on the art of finding bargains, naturally didn't accompany Elder Mo.

Lei Tai, along with Lin Qingyu and Guo Yong, also took their leave, leaving only Liu Gaang, Lee Wei, and Mo Xiaoyu behind.

"I'll go get the car. Wait here for me," Lee Wei said, heading to the underground garage.

Liu Gaang and Mo Xiaoyu nodded silently. Once Lee Wei had left, Mo Xiaoyu seized the moment. "Handsome, now that we're alone, can you share your secret to finding treasures?"

"Truthfully, I don't have any secret. Both times were just flukes," Liu Gaang responded with a sense of resignation.

"Handsome, won't you teach me, please?" Zhang Xiaoli pleaded, latching onto Liu Gaang's arm and giving it a playful shake.

A wave of agitation swept over Liu Gaang.

She was a temptress, indeed!

"I really don't have any secrets to share..."

With a cold "Hmph!" Mo Xiaoyu released Liu Gaang's arm and spun around, striding back into the hotel.

Liu Gaang stood there, momentarily taken aback, a profound sense of loss washing over him. He called out to Mo Xiaoyu's retreating figure, "Hey, what are you planning to do now?"

"The restroom," came Mo Xiaoyu's voice, still tinged with frustration, clearly not over her anger.

Liu Gaang couldn't help but muse, "She's like a chameleon, always changing."

Once Mo Xiaoyu emerged from the restroom, Lee Wei pulled up in the car, and the trio departed from the Celestial Eternity Great Hotel.

"Handsome, won't you teach me how to snag those deals? Please?" Mo Xiaoyu pleaded, playfully shaking Liu Gaang's arm in the car.

At his wit's end, Liu Gaang responded with a helpless expression, "Well, finding bargains is all about instinct—there's not much to teach. But if we find the time, I could show you the ropes."

"Yay!" Mo Xiaoyu exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight, and then, to Liu Gaang's surprise, she leaned over and planted a kiss on his cheek.

Liu Gaang was left in shock, then a wave of melancholy hit him.

She moved too quickly; he hadn't even had the chance to savor the moment.

Lee Wei was equally stunned. What was this, a surprise kiss? A beauty planting one on the beast...

Mo Xiaoyu had a night shift, so Lee Wei drove her to the hospital first, then planned to take Liu Gaang out for karaoke. Liu Gaang, claiming he had other commitments, declined.

After Lee Wei sped off, Liu Gaang hailed a cab to the bank. It was only five in the afternoon, and the bank was still open—plenty of time.

At the bank, Liu Gaang cashed his check and opened a new account with a deposit of 15 million yuan, placing the remaining two million in his existing account.

Returning home by taxi, Liu Gaang felt elated. This money would surely be enough to help his family weather their financial storm.

As he opened the door, a sharp scent of smoke assaulted his nostrils, all the more pungent in the spacious living room...

Liu Gaang's gaze fell on his father, Liu Lei, slumped on the sofa, lost in a cloud of smoke, an overflowing ashtray beside him.

His mother sat on the adjacent sofa, her face etched with concern.

Liu Gaang strode over to open the living room's French windows, letting in fresh air, then sat down next to his father. "Dad, you should cut down on the smoking. It's bad for your health."

Liu's father nodded silently, his face etched with a bitter smile.

"Dad, exactly how much do we still owe our client? And how much will it take to get the factory back up and running?"

"We're looking at around seven or eight million," Liu's father exhaled heavily. "It's my fault, all my fault for being too careless. Now your mother and your siblings have to suffer too."

Before the factory's current troubles, he might have been able to scrape together that kind of money. But now, it seemed nearly impossible.

"Seven or eight million, that's all? I've got it. Here's fifteen million." Liu Gaang said, pulling out a bank card and passing it over.

It was the very card holding a balance of fifteen million.
