C18 The Dog Eyes Looked down on Others

Early the next morning, Liu Gaang was roused by his parents to first reclaim the items they had mortgaged, then they all hurried off to the factory.

Gazing at his Land Rover Aurora, Liu Gaang couldn't help but smile, relishing the joy of regaining what he'd once lost.

Settling into the driver's seat, Liu Gaang intended to scour Antique Street for hidden treasures, but his plans were interrupted by a call from Lee Wei.

"Hey, little bro, you around?" Lee Wei's boisterous voice boomed through the phone as soon as Liu Gaang picked up.

"What's up, Mr. Lee?"

"Remember that black market I mentioned a few days back? It kicks off at noon today. We've got an hour before it starts. Withdraw some cash, and I'll come get you."

"No need, Mr. Lee. I'll drive myself. Where's it at?" Liu Gaang responded.

"Okay, after you've got the money, head straight to the First People's Hospital. We'll meet up with Xiaoyu and go from there."

"She's going too?" Liu Gaang's mind flashed to the alluring woman who oscillated between assertive and sultry, and he was momentarily at a loss for words.

"Yeah, she's curious about the black market and wants to check it out."

"Got it. I'll see you there. This will actually be my first time feeling what it's like to withdraw a million in cash. Never done it before, haha!"

Lee Wei's laughter echoed in response.

After ending the call, Liu Gaang drove to Pingnan Commercial Bank. Withdrawing a million was no trivial matter; it required an appointment.

He dialed a number and greeted, "Hello, is this Manager Xu?"

"Hello, this is Xu Wei. Who am I speaking with?"

"Hi, I'm Liu Gaang. Last time I made a deposit, your staff provided me with your number, saying it would make future transactions more convenient."

Xu Wei perked up at the mention of the name. Liu Gaang was a major client for Pingnan Commercial Bank, having deposited two million just the day before yesterday, and seventeen million more yesterday.

He was truly a major client!

Consider this: nearly 20 million yuan is no small sum. Even some of the wealthiest billionaires might struggle to liquidate such an amount on short notice. Their net worth is often tied up in fixed assets and stock market values, leaving them with less cash on hand than one might expect.

"Mr. Liu, what can I assist you with today?"

"I need to make a withdrawal. I was told by your staff during a previous deposit that large withdrawals require an appointment."

"And how much will you be withdrawing?"

"One million."

"When will you need this, Mr. Liu?"

"Immediately. I'm on my way now."

"Very well, Mr. Liu. I'll get everything in order right away. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"No, that's all for now. I'll be there shortly. See you soon." With that, Liu Gaang ended the call.

Ten minutes later, Liu Gaang arrived at Pingnan Commercial Bank.

The service at these local banks couldn't quite match up to the big national banks. As Liu Gaang entered, a staff member, who was quite attractive, asked him impatiently while primping in a mirror, "What transaction are you here for?"

"I'm here to withdraw money," Liu Gaang responded coolly.

"Oh, you'll need to go to window number two and join the queue," the staff member said, pointing to the indicated window.

"I have an appointment; shouldn't I be able to bypass the line?" Liu Gaang asked, noting the long queue at window number two with a frown.

Upon hearing about the appointment, the staff member's demeanor shifted dramatically, and she said with a flirtatious smile, "Sir, you're one of our bank's VIP customers. My apologies, could you please show me your VIP card?"

Liu Gaang paused, then replied with a shake of his head, "I'm not a VIP customer; I don't have a VIP card."

He then remembered that the last time he was at the bank, the staff had mentioned issuing him a VIP card, but he had been too busy to follow up, which is why they had given him Xu Wei's business card instead.

"What? Not a VIP? Then what's the point of making an appointment? Get moving and join the line at window number two. You've completely soured my mood," the staff member said, her patience evaporating as she spoke with a distinctly unfriendly tone.

He wasn't a VIP, so why was he acting like he was top dog? He'd even thrown a flirtatious glance her way.

Liu Gaang's patience was wearing thin. He had no tolerance for staff who judged people by their status. "Excuse me, Miss, but is this really the way to treat someone? Must one be a VIP to schedule an appointment in advance?"

"Moron!" the employee sneered, his tone growing even more cutting. "You're not a VIP, so stop putting on airs. What are you going to do about it? You're like a pig trying to look like an elephant with that onion in its nose!"

"Fine, very fine! We'll see if you're still this bold later on!" Liu Gaang retorted icily, his mind set on a course of action.

For a major client with 19 million in savings, getting someone fired might be a challenge for the big national banks, but for Pingnan Commercial Bank, it was no issue at all.

The altercation between Liu Gaang and the employee had drawn the gaze of everyone in the bank. At that moment, a security guard approached menacingly, baton in hand.

"What's the problem here?" the guard demanded of Liu Gaang, his tone hostile.

"Just a troublemaker," the employee interjected before Liu Gaang could respond.

"Troublemaker? Sister Wu, let me handle this," the guard offered, the very picture of a sycophant.

Sister Wu was a person of influence in the bank, rumored to have a close connection with one of the bank's higher-ups. The guard, a lowly figure, was obviously eager to ingratiate himself.

"Leave it to you? Are you up to the task?" Liu Gaang asked coldly, pulling out his phone to call Xu Wei.
