C12 Unfair Sisterinlaw!
Zhou Dong was at a loss, unsure of what to do next. Suddenly, he watched as Lin Han swiftly grabbed his phone and hurled it against the wall, shattering it to bits.
"Go on, hit me! You want to call the cops so badly, do it!" Lin Han taunted, his voice cool and detached, before slapping Zhou Dong three more times.
Reeling from the blows, Zhou Dong crumpled into a heap in the corner, hands covering his face, sobbing.
Lin Han's irritation flared at the sight, prompting him to deliver two more vicious kicks.
This time, Zhou Dong pleaded, "Big brother, I was wrong. Please, let me go. I swear I'll never even think about bothering Lin Kexin again."
With a light touch, Lin Han lifted Zhou Dong's chin, examining his swollen face. "Still feeling like calling the police? Still feeling bold? Still planning to deal with me once you're out?" he asked coolly.
Zhou Dong shook his head vigorously. "No... No... I swear I won't call the police."
Lin Han nodded, released his chin, and pressed on. "Now, will you reveal your true identity?"
Zhou Dong cast a glance at Lin Kexin and stammered out his confession. "I'm just a low-level employee at Chepapp, not a department manager at all. I just saw Miss Lee and decided to hit on her. I never expected her to contact our chairman, so I lied and said I was the manager of our company's project department. I'll never dare to do such a thing again. Please, just let me go!"
Lin Han nodded, then probed further. "How many naive young women have you deceived with your fake persona? Come clean now!"
Zhou Dong shook his head frantically. "This is honestly my first time, big brother. Please, forgive me!"
Lin Han nodded, sighed, and spoke with a hint of resignation. "I might let you go, but first, you owe this lady an apology. She has to forgive you before you can leave. And how should you apologize? I think kneeling and giving her a couple of sincere kowtows might do the trick. If she forgives you, then you're free to go."
With gritted teeth and no other options, Zhou Dong reluctantly prepared to do as Lin Han suggested.
If he refused to kneel and kowtow, they certainly wouldn't let him off the hook.
Zhou Dong dropped to his knees with a thud and kowtowed twice.
"Please forgive me, beautiful. I swear I'll never do it again."
Lin Kexin could tell he was insincere and was so angry she felt like flaying his skin and tearing out his tendons. Even his kowtowing wouldn't earn her forgiveness.
Seeing the scene unfold, Lin Han released Zhou Dong.
"Get up and get out of here. If I see you again, I'll beat you every time."
Zhou Dong scrambled to his feet and slunk away.
Once Zhou Dong was gone, Lin Kexin unleashed all her suppressed fury on Lin Han.
"You... You knew everything and kept it from me. Did you just want to see me embarrassed? Fine, consider it payback for how my family has treated you."
Lin Han sighed in resignation, marveling at the richness of a woman's imagination.
"I was clueless at first too. It wasn't until I arrived and saw him that I realized he wasn't really a Chepapp department manager."
"A Chepapp department manager would have a badge indicating their identity, but he had none. That's when I figured out he was just an ordinary employee."
"Besides, I tried to warn you not to go through with your plan, but you wouldn't listen. Luckily, you didn't end up worse off. Come on, I'll take you home."
Lin Han tenderly patted Lin Kexin's back.
As Lin Kexin attempted to walk, she realized her foot was injured.
"My foot is twisted," she said, her voice tinged with distress.
Lin Han crouched down to examine her foot, confirming it was seriously twisted.
Without a word, Lin Han lifted Lin Kexin in his arms and took a taxi to the hospital.
In Lin Han's arms, Lin Kexin found herself feeling unexpectedly safe.
At the hospital, the doctor quickly bandaged them up and assured them it was fine to head home.
Lin Han then carried Lin Kexin back to her house.
The yard was empty; his mother-in-law must have gone shopping again.
This was a relief; with his mother-in-law away, Lin Han could enjoy some peace and quiet.
Otherwise, he'd end up blaming himself for not taking proper care of Lin Kexin and might even get a beating for it.
Lin Han carried Lin Kexin straight into the room, laid her on the bed, and gave her some medicine with water.
He still had some errands to run.
He informed Lin Kexin that he needed to step out for a bit and that they would discuss Chepapp Group matters upon his return.
Just as he left the room, he heard some noise from the adjacent room.
Thinking it was a burglar, Lin Han approached the door, attempting to open it, only to find it locked from the inside.
Feeling a sense of duty to protect the household, he kicked the door open.
To his surprise, inside was a young girl in scant clothing, live streaming on her computer.
Lin Han was startled. He coughed awkwardly and quickly shut the door.
This girl was none other than Lin Kexin's sister.
Lin Kexin's sister, Lee Kerong, was still a teenager, only seventeen or eighteen, and seldom came home from school.
But Lee Kerong was not someone to be taken lightly, and this was Lin Han's second encounter with his sister-in-law.
The first time he met Lee Kerong was when he first entered this household, and she had embarrassed him with a series of pranks.
Today, he had walked in on her in such a state.
Lee Kerong was certainly not going to let this slide.
As expected, just as Lin Han closed the door behind him, a scream akin to a pig being slaughtered filled the air.
"Lin Han, don't you move."
Lin Han had barely turned around when he felt a slap across his face.
Lee Kerong, who was shorter than him, had to stretch on her tiptoes to reach.
Being hit by his mother-in-law was one thing, but Lin Han never expected to be slapped by his young aunt-in-law.
For a man who had been through much, the slap itself wasn't a big deal, but it was the injustice of it that stung.
Lin Han didn't want to tolerate it, but after a moment's thought, he decided to hold back. As a son-in-law, he had to endure what others could not.
Biting back his frustration, Lin Han suppressed the fire within and spoke calmly.
"I thought there might be a burglar in the house... I just wanted to go back and check."
"Why are you clenching your jaw? Listen to me, you absolutely cannot let anyone know about today's incident. If you dare to spill the beans, I'll make sure you can't stay in this family."
Lee Kerong, despite her young age, spoke with a clarity and ferocity that was truly intimidating.
Lin Han didn't respond to her; he simply turned and walked away.
Lee Kerong felt a bitter taste in her mouth as Lin Han ignored her.
She had always looked down on her spineless brother-in-law, and now that he had witnessed her disgraceful moment, she was determined to ensure he kept silent about it.
