C19 Despicable!

"Think about it? When Zhou Haixiang makes a decision, there's no need for second-guessing. I've made my intentions clear about partnering with Lee Feng. Please stop pestering me, or I'll be forced to call the police."

Lin Han put on a show of fear and stepped back.

"Director Zhou, please don't frighten me. I'm young and haven't seen much of the world, but I'm not easily scared."

Zhou Haixiang, believing Lin Han was genuinely afraid, responded icily.

"If you're scared, then step aside. And while you're at it, go tell Lin Kexin to stop looking for me. I have no intention of working with her."

Lin Han could discern from Zhou Haixiang's tone that regardless of the quality of Lin Kexin's proposal, a partnership was off the table.

Especially since the matriarch herself had made a personal call.

Zhou Haixiang had to honor the matriarch's request, and more importantly, she was the one who called the shots at the company. His chances of success were slim if he partnered with Lin Kexin.

Lin Han let out a sigh and swiped his phone screen, unleashing a barrage of scandalous sounds.

"Director Zhou, what do you think people would say if they saw this video? And to think, you're the head of Chepapp. Could this scandal cause the company's stock to plummet?"

Lin Han spoke with a nonchalant air.

Zhou Haixiang was all too familiar with the video. Wasn't it the one he had just made with his mistress?

How on earth did this young man get his hands on it?

"You... to resort to such low tactics... I'm calling the police."

Lin Han simply smiled and replied with indifference.

"Go ahead, call the police if that's what you want. But remember, I have enough time before you do to share this video online. Let's see how the city reacts to the mighty Zhou Haixiang, head of Chepapp, and just how demure his little mistress appears!"

"And what about your wife? What would she think if she saw this? After all, wasn't your initial fortune thanks to her, with a little help from your father-in-law?"

"And what about the press? What will they say when they get hold of this? Will your company's stocks take a nosedive? Could Chepapp face ruin overnight if the PR can't handle the fallout?"

"Ah, I've thought it over, and it seems calling the police might not be in your best interest, Director Zhou."

"If you choose not to involve the police and instead opt to collaborate with Lin Kexin, I'll act as if this never happened. The videos will be destroyed, and no third party will ever know about them."

"Director Zhou, please consider it."

Zhou Haixiang was seething with anger, his forehead beaded with sweat as he pointed a trembling finger at Lin Han.

"I never expected you to be so devious. Is this how Lin Kexin approaches collaboration? Do you really think I'd work with you after this?"

Zhou Haixiang's face was livid with rage.

Lin Han approached calmly, gently grasped his finger, and then let it go.

"Director Zhou, try not to get angry. Anger is punishing yourself with someone else's mistake. But in this case, it seems you're punishing yourself with your own mistake."

"And to answer your question about Lin Kexin's attitude towards collaboration, let me assure you that Lin Kexin has always approached you with the utmost respect, seeking to work together. Yet, you haven't given her a single opportunity. If you won't give her a chance, I'll have to create one for her."

"I've always been easygoing and fearless. I suggest you carefully consider your options."

Lin Han picked up a lighter, ignited a cigarette, and began to smoke leisurely.

Zhou Haixiang's anxiety was palpable as sweat continued to accumulate on his brow. He was at a crossroads, having promised the old lady, but now facing the threat of his videos being leaked online by Lin Han.

Such an event would destroy his reputation, status, and dignity.

After much deliberation, he finally spoke.

"Fine, I agree! Have Lin Kexin bring the proposal to the company tomorrow morning. I'll review it before we discuss the contract."

"Good, as long as you've agreed. But you should call her yourself. And remember, don't mention my visit to you, or else you know what could happen."

Lin Han's expression turned stern.

With the leverage firmly in Lin Han's hands, Zhou Haixiang could do nothing but nod in resignation.

Lin Han then turned and left the hotel, whistling as he went.

Upon returning to Chepapp, Zhou Haixiang's first order of business was to call Lin Kexin.

Lin Kexin was contemplating waiting outside Chepapp's doors to try her luck when Zhou Haixiang finished work for the day. Her phone suddenly rang, displaying an unfamiliar number. With utmost courtesy, she answered, "Hello, Lin Kexin from Watock Corporation!"

"It's Zhou Haixiang. Bring the proposal and the contract to my company tomorrow. If all goes well, we can sign the contract then," the voice on the other end said.

Lin Kexin couldn't believe her ears and quickly asked for clarification, "What did you say?"

Zhou Haixiang repeated his earlier statement before abruptly ending the call. Lin Kexin remained in disbelief even after the call had ended. She double-checked the number in her contacts and confirmed it was indeed Zhou Haixiang's. Only then did she accept the reality of the situation.

She pondered why Zhou Haixiang had so suddenly changed his attitude towards her. That very morning, he had been dismissive and even threatened to cease all dealings with her, showing a firm resolve to collaborate with Lee Feng. Yet, by the afternoon, he had done a complete turnaround, expressing a desire to work with her. Lin Kexin was utterly baffled.

Eventually, she decided not to dwell on it, concluding that this was the best possible outcome. If she managed to secure this contract, the position of General Manager would be within her grasp. Overcome with excitement, she burst into her favorite dance, the shuffle, right there in the office.

She eagerly shared the fantastic news with her colleagues. However, a thought suddenly struck her, "As long as the contract isn't signed within a minute, it doesn't count, and anything could happen!"

Realizing Lin Han's wisdom, she couldn't resist calling him. "Guess what? The Chairman of Chepapp has invited me to present the proposal at his company tomorrow. You were right; if they don't sign the contract within a minute, it's not final."

Lin Han feigned surprise, asking, "Really? Is this news true?"

"Absolutely, I might be signing the contract with him tomorrow."

"Well, congratulations in advance," he responded.

Lin Kexin had intended to remind Lin Han to come home early for dinner, but before she could get the words out, he had already hung up. Despite a twinge of disappointment, she wasn't bothered. Her spirits were high with the thrilling prospect of collaborating with Zhou Haixiang, the distinguished Chairman of Chepapp.

Right now, this piece of news was nothing short of a godsend for him.

Once Lin Han had wrapped up his task, he got a phone call from Lin Feijie.
