C5 Unfair!
Lin Han spoke nonchalantly, followed by a faint smile.
Lin Kexin, however, wasn't convinced. She understood the gravity of the situation. Her grandmother had clearly favored Lee Feng, and Kexin knew that once she left, her grandmother would surely pass on Chepapp's information to him.
At the company, she held no real position or status; in plain terms, she was merely a low-level employee.
Lee Feng, on the other hand, was the general manager.
If she and Lee Feng were to discuss this matter in Chepapp's office, anyone would lean towards collaborating with Lee Feng rather than with her.
This left her not only at a disadvantage but also facing an uphill battle.
Earlier, she had inexplicably agreed to Lin Han's request.
But upon reflection, the entire situation seemed daunting.
"You make it sound so easy. How could there possibly be a breakthrough in this situation? I'm just a lowly employee, and Lee Feng is at least the general manager. Competing with him for the same project is like signing my own death warrant. What leverage do I have?" Lin Kexin said, her brow furrowed with concern.
"How will you know it's impossible if you never try? Nothing is too difficult for those who set their sights high. If you put in more effort than Lee Feng, I believe you'll come out on top," Lin Han said with ease.
"Do you really believe I can win?" Lin Kexin asked earnestly.
She was desperate for affirmation; it would give her an extra layer of confidence in tackling the issue.
"Of course, you'll win! Trust me! And I'll be here to help you," Lin Han assured her, his tone light yet brimming with certainty.
Lin Kexin had her doubts from the start. How could Lin Han be so sure?
But considering his past achievements, she began to think that perhaps anything was possible.
Lin Han, who seemed like nothing more than an idle troublemaker, had managed to obtain those CDs as evidence, showcasing that he did have some influential connections.
Perhaps Lin Han could still be of help to her.
Yet, Lin Kexin doubted where Lin Han could possibly find the capability to assist. After all, they were dealing with Chepapp Group, a titan among the world's top 500 companies. Countless firms aspired to partner with Chepapp, and their own was merely a small, unremarkable entity. When Lee Feng, the general manager, approached for a partnership, at least his position lent some credibility to the endeavor.
But for a low-level employee like herself to initiate talks of cooperation? It seemed unlikely that she'd even garner a second glance, let alone secure a partnership.
Lin Kexin didn't want to voice such disheartening thoughts, but the harsh reality was undeniable.
"Alright, alright, stop worrying over things that won't help. Just remember, I'll definitely assist you with this. As husband and wife, we're an unstoppable team. Can't we handle a little challenge like this?" Lin Han said with a mischievous grin, winking at Lin Kexin nonchalantly.
Despite her reservations, Lin Kexin's doubts began to subside as she observed his confident demeanor.
Maybe Lin Han was right. With enough dedication, she might just pull it off.
Noticing Lin Kexin's anxiety had eased somewhat, Lin Han gently placed his hands on her shoulders, looking down at her with concern.
"You haven't rested properly these last few days. Go home, get some sleep, and we'll figure out our next steps together," he said tenderly.
Indeed, Lin Kexin had been fraught with worry, her sleep restless both day and night. But Lin Han's reassurance had sparked a glimmer of confidence within her. She clung to the belief that with perseverance, nothing was insurmountable.
"Okay," she agreed, nodding meekly.
Lin Han drove her home to rest before heading back to the office himself.
Though some worries lingered, Lin Kexin managed to sleep soundly.
Upon waking, she headed straight to the office and requested her secretary compile all the detailed information on Chepapp Group. The records, she knew, should be readily accessible within the company's archives.
Despite a thorough search, the secretary was unable to locate any detailed records on Chepapp Company within our company's archives. The only information available was the kind that could be easily found on Baidu.
Chepapp, a Fortune 500 enterprise, is chaired by Wang Haixiang, who named the company after himself.
Beyond that, there was no further information.
With regret, the secretary approached her in the office. "Director Lee, I mean, Kexin, I've checked everywhere in our company and there's not a single record of Chepapp. The only things I could find are these," she said, handing over the documents.
Lin Kexin glanced through the papers. What was this? Merely generic information readily available on Baidu.
Having this information was as good as having none at all.
It appeared that the old lady had deliberately concealed the details, not wanting her to uncover them.
Otherwise, how could a company of such stature lack any substantial information about a potential partner?
It was hardly believable.
But the pressing issue was to secure Chepapp's information, a task beyond her solo capabilities.
Lin Kexin's thoughts immediately turned to Lin Han.
She hastened to Lin Han's office to discuss the matter, hoping he might have a solution.
Lin Han's office door was ajar, so Lin Kexin, assuming he was inside, pushed the door open and entered.
To her surprise, the office was empty.
She figured he might be in the restroom and would return shortly.
Yet, after waiting for half an hour, he still hadn't reappeared.
Growing anxious, Lin Kexin recognized the urgency of the situation. To negotiate with Chepapp, firsthand information was essential for even the slightest edge.
Her anxiety was palpable.
Seeing that Lin Han had not yet returned, she decided to call him.
He might have stepped out on business. Lin Kexin dialed Lin Han's number, her nerves slightly frayed.
After all, they hadn't communicated much before.
Even though they were married, Lin Kexin rarely had any special reason to call her husband, let alone take the initiative to do so.
Lin Kexin had waited a considerable amount of time, yet there was no answer on the other end of the line.
Hadn't Lin Han just agreed to resolve this issue with her? Why had he suddenly vanished without a trace?
Was he not in the office? He wasn't answering his phone either.
Lin Kexin's anxiety grew with each unanswered ring. She dialed Lin Han's number once more, hoping for a response.
