C7 Robbery!

"Yes!" Lin Kexin nodded obediently, burying her head even deeper.

"Don't be afraid anymore. I've subdued him. He's squatting there, not daring to move."

Lin Kexin sobbed quietly for a while before she managed to calm herself down.

Suddenly, she realized she was in Lin Han's arms and instinctively stepped back, leaving his embrace.

She straightened her clothes and hair before speaking up.

"How did you get here? Are you okay? Weren't you kidnapped by Lee Feng and his crew?"

Lin Han was puzzled. He had only been gone for a few hours. What had happened? Why was Lin Kexin asking him these questions?

"Hmm? What are you talking about?"

Lin Kexin, seeing Lin Han's clueless expression, quickly pulled out her phone from her pocket and showed him the message.

After reading the message, Lin Han understood the cause of the situation. It turned out Lee Feng had threatened Lin Kexin, leading to the current predicament.

Yet, judging by how things stood, Lin Kexin wasn't indifferent to him; otherwise, she wouldn't have risked her safety to rescue him. Lin Han felt a secret thrill of satisfaction.

He couldn't resist teasing her.

"So, you're worried about your husband's safety already?"

Lin Kexin gave his chest a playful slap.

"Don't flatter yourself. It's purely humanitarian. I know Lee Feng is cruel, and I didn't want you to lose your life because he's out for revenge against me. That's why I came to your rescue."

Lin Kexin avoided Lin Han's gaze as she spoke with conviction.

Lin Han caught the unusual tone in her voice but didn't tease her further, getting back to the matter at hand.

"I'm fine. I was just meeting some friends and never ran into Lee Feng. But how did he know I wasn't with you? He must have sent someone to track me."

Lin Kexin, sensing the gravity of the situation, furrowed her brows and pondered before responding.

"He must have had someone tailing you. Otherwise, how would he know to send that message when you weren't with me?"

"Then it seems likely that he's the one behind this message. There must be a mole by your side, or perhaps he's had you under surveillance as well. This robbery was probably orchestrated by him."

"He must have known that sending you that message would prompt you to come to my rescue, and then he planned to intercept you here while you were on your way to get the money. So, this person was clearly set up to wait for you," Lin Kexin said, suddenly overcome with fear.

"What should we do? Should we call the police?" she suggested urgently.

Lin Han shook his head, his demeanor calm. "No need to worry—it's a minor issue. Think about it: if we call the police now without solid evidence, and this guy claims he was just broke and decided to rob you after seeing you withdraw money, the police won't be able to do much. They could only charge him with the robbery."

"It's doubtful that he has any connection to Lee Feng. And even if this guy did rat him out, it would only amount to inciting a robbery—not a major crime. At most, he'd get a three- to five-year sentence and then be released."

"Besides, there's an old saying: 'Don't air your dirty laundry in public.' These issues aren't exactly flattering; they're internal to our company. If we let this out, our stock will plummet, and it could even drag the company down with it."

"So, let's hold off on calling the cops. We'll start with this guy and see what we can get out of him. I'm confident we can extract some meaningful information."

"If we uncover something substantial, then we can go to the police. What do you think?"

Lin Kexin nodded, convinced by Lin Han's logic.

The company's stock had already begun to fall due to the situation with Lin Han and Zhang Xuan. If this incident were to leak to the press, the shares would surely take another hit.

After all, the company was her grandfather's legacy, painstakingly built from the ground up. Even if her grandmother didn't want to run it, it was still their family business.

If she allowed these minor issues to ruin the company, she'd never forgive herself.

Moreover, Lin Kexin's respect for Lin Han grew. She wondered how she had failed to see his thoroughness in handling such problems before. He was even more meticulous and serious than she was, despite being the General Manager.

Clearly, she had underestimated Lin Han; he was far from the carefree persona he projected.

He approaches his work with utmost seriousness and precision. Despite his extensive experience managing the company, he still couldn't maintain his composure in such urgent situations.

Yet, Lin Han's considerations were thorough, even more comprehensive and meticulous than I had anticipated.

"How come I'm just now realizing that you think things through more comprehensively than I do? Why haven't you shown this side before?"

Lin Kexin couldn't help but inquire.

Lin Han offered a faint smile, "Comprehensive? How could I possibly measure up to Manager Lee? It was merely spur-of-the-moment improvisation."

"I'm nowhere near Manager Lee's level!"

Lin Kexin couldn't help but laugh at his remark, her previous tension dissipating.

Lin Han approached the burly man he had previously subdued.

The man, frightened, stepped back and stuttered, "What... what are you going to do?"

"Our intention is straightforward: we want to ask you a few simple questions. If you answer truthfully, I might let you go. But if you don't, I'm sorry, I definitely won't be so lenient," Lin Han explained calmly, casually flexing his fist to remind the man of the consequences of non-compliance.

Terrified, the man quickly nodded, "Ask me anything. I'll tell you everything I know."

Satisfied, Lin Han nodded and playfully winked at Lin Kexin.

Lin Kexin remained silent, her gaze fixed on the man. She was uncertain about what he might reveal.

Part of her was eager for him to disclose something significant, yet she was also deeply apprehensive.

After all, Lee Feng was her cousin. Despite their professional rivalry, they shared familial ties.

After a moment of contemplation, Lin Han posed his question.

"Tell me, who sent you here to rob us?"

The man, now cornered, seemed ready to spill everything.

"Yes, it was Lee Feng. He's the one who sent me, and he planned it well in advance. I've been here waiting for three hours."
