C22 International Superstar!
"Indeed, the cities in Shiatan are far more prosperous than those in Aglon."
Upon her arrival in Flitrora, Karina's gaze wandered, taking in the skyscrapers that reached for the heavens, and she couldn't help but be impressed.
Suddenly, a bus rolled by, revealing a huge poster of Lin Haoyu. She turned for a closer look, and Lin Haoyu's heart skipped a beat at the sight of the stunning foreign girl before him.
Feeling a rush of excitement, Lin Haoyu smoothed his hair and straightened his clothes, chuckling mischievously, "Who might you be?"
The foreign girl responded with a soft smile and a playful wink, grabbing Lin Haoyu's hand and leading him toward a quiet... ahem, grove of trees.
Lin Haoyu's heart raced. No way, he thought, could this girl be so smitten with him that she'd resort to force?
To safeguard his virtue, Lin Haoyu nervously unbuttoned his shirt, reasoning that it would prevent any damage if she tried to rip it off. And as for why he was willing to expose himself, Lin Haoyu felt that was his business alone!
"Hey, you're Lin Haoyu, aren't you?" Karina asked with a sweet smile, steadying his shoulders and giving him a thorough once-over before laughing.
Lin Haoyu's face was plastered all over the streets, with some posters even depicting him with powerful spirits, clearly marking him as a mystical... fortune teller.
Karina had just landed at Flitrora's airport from a concert in Aglon when she was greeted by Lin Haoyu's larger-than-life poster. The surreal experience was hard to believe.
After spending an hour or two, she finally tracked down the enigmatic Lin Haoyu outside a television station.
Lin Haoyu, taken aback, was then overcome with joy, and he stopped undressing.
"Hmm? You recognize me?"
He laughed heartily, relieved that this encounter wouldn't end like the last one, with someone too proud to even ask for his autograph.
"Yes, exactly! Lin Haoyu, your face and name are all over Flitrora's buses and street lamps," Karina said, brushing her hair back and smiling warmly.
Hmm? What's happening here?
Could this be the massive city-wide publicity campaign that Jian Yang talked about?
Wow, I didn't expect to see ads on the buses. The TV station must have really splurged!
Lin Haoyu felt a surge of excitement. He never imagined he'd have his day in the limelight:
"Hehehe, Jian Yang really came through."
Just the bus ads must have cost a pretty penny, not to mention the streetlights and some of the large screen displays. You couldn't pull this off without spending a small fortune.
Lin Haoyu blinked and took another look at Karina, thinking that this foreign girl seemed almost too perfect.
"Tsk tsk tsk, with her bright blonde hair and petite, rosy lips, she's got the look of an international movie star."
The more he observed Karina, the more intrigued Lin Haoyu became. He smirked and leaned in closer for a better look.
Her nose showed no signs of cosmetic surgery, and her facial structure was naturally stunning—a genuine beauty!
Karina offered a soft smile, checked to make sure no one was snapping photos, and then extended her hand to Lin Haoyu:
"So, I'll call you Yu, and you can call me Karina."
After she spoke, Lin Haoyu paused for a few seconds before it clicked, and he eagerly reached out, grinning:
"Alright, Karina, is there anything else you need from me?"
Lin Haoyu was torn. Here was an authentic, incredibly beautiful foreign girl. How could he just let her slip away and be a catch for someone else?
But he was about to be late. If he didn't head to the TV station soon, Lin Haoyu might as well pack up and head home...
"System, any good advice?"
Lin Haoyu cleared his throat and reluctantly shifted his gaze away from her face, slowly making his way toward the TV station.
Karina, noticing his departure, smiled faintly and followed him at a leisurely pace, staying close by his side.
"Ding! Host, you can bring Karina to the TV station to record a program."
Lin Haoyu was perplexed.
"So, let me get this straight. You expect me to bring an inexperienced girl on board to just stand around and look pretty for an episode? What good would that do besides causing me extra headaches? Do you really think listeners will tune into After Midnight just for her stunning looks?"
"As a professional host, I absolutely refuse to do that."
Lin Haoyu appeared resolute as he nodded gravely, turning back to face Karina with a stern gaze.
"...What, you're not going to invite me to your TV station to record an episode?"
Karina teased, playfully sticking out her tongue as she grabbed Lin Haoyu's hand and hurried toward the TV station.
"Damn, are girls always this forward now?"
A bewildered Lin Haoyu was dragged along by Karina, his mind racing with peculiar thoughts, as he half-heartedly made his way into... ahem, entered teletorium three.
"Click!"
The moment the teletorium door swung open, Wang Shijie's voice boomed from inside:
"Yu, you've finally arrived! We're still on for recording four episodes today, right?"
Wang Shijie stretched and yawned as he got up to greet Lin Haoyu.
The sound of Wang Shijie's voice instantly gave Lin Haoyu a sense of foreboding. If Wang saw him in his current state, who knows what odd ideas he might conjure up.
Quickly straightening his shirt, Lin Haoyu called out:
"Wang! Is Sugar not here?"
"Sugar's down with a cold, been resting at home," Wang Shijie replied, crunching into a cucumber he'd picked up from the table.
Cough, it was a relief that Sugar wasn't around. If she saw him with Karina, she'd surely start spreading baseless gossip.
"Alright, that's a relief."
Lin Haoyu breathed a sigh of relief, exchanged a knowing smile with Karina, and they stepped into the teletorium.
Wang Shijie snickered, still holding the cucumber, as he strode over to the corner to help Lin Haoyu with his bag.
"Hehe, Yu, I listened to yesterday's recording. I'm dying to know what that ghost will do today... Holy shit!"
Crash!
Mid-sentence, Wang Shijie caught sight of a tall, blonde beauty nearly as tall as Lin Haoyu. He was so startled that his mouth hung open, and the cucumber tumbled out onto the floor.
