C12 His Ability Evolved

How adorable.

Yin Tian silently complimented her in his mind.

Realizing that further teasing might push her over the edge, Yin Tian wisely dropped the subject.

As he was about to shift the conversation, he noticed something amiss with Ning Shang's data that appeared before him.

"Ning Shang,

26 years old,

Team Leader of the Knevoof Group's sales department.

Has a significant fondness for Yin Tian.

The sole daughter of Carrimon's wealthiest man, Ning Tianhao.

Net worth: 20 billion.

How should I tell Yin Tian that I'm Ning Tianhao's daughter this Saturday?"

Little else had changed, except what was once "a bit interested in Yin Tian" had become "has a very good impression of Yin Tian."

Considering that in just two days, he and Ning Shang had gone from colleagues who barely spoke to friends who could joke with each other, this shift seemed minor.

What truly touched Yin Tian was the new line at the end of her profile:

"How should I tell Yin Tian that I am Ning Tianhao's daughter this Saturday?"

"What's this?" Yin Tian paused, then it dawned on him, "Are these Ning Shang's thoughts?"

Have his eyes evolved again?

Yin Tian felt a surge of excitement.

He understood why Ning Shang might want to reveal her identity, especially since the banquet they were to attend was an upscale affair.

How could an ordinary girl working in Carrimon be eligible for such an event?

It made sense that Ning Shang planned to come clean about her background.

Noticing the delight in Yin Tian's eyes, Ning Shang mistook his joy as excitement to spend the weekend with her.

So, her thoughts shifted once more.

At least, through Yin Tian's eyes, her thoughts now read:

"Is Yin Tian really this thrilled to be attending the banquet with me?"

Eager to test his newly evolved ability, Yin Tian couldn't wait any longer.

Having already spent a considerable amount of time with Ning Shang, he knew not to overstay his welcome. After a brief exchange, he joined a group of colleagues.

"Where to with your girlfriend this weekend?"

"Zhu Gu just signed three contracts. I should've moved faster."

"Where did Tian find so many clients? Will we have the same luck next month?"

"Haha, the look on Manager Dong's face when he got called out was priceless."

"Awesome, Yin Tian finally stopped talking to Leader Ning. I need to seize the opportunity to strike up a conversation with my dream girl."

Yin Tian was bombarded with a flurry of thoughts from countless people, leaving him overwhelmed.

Wow, who would've thought this guy, who seems so upright, could be such a player behind the scenes?

Shoot, he's one of Dung Tao's guys. I'll have to watch my back around him.

Zhang Xiaohua, I didn't help you with any ulterior motive, so don't overthink it, okay?

Yin Tian took particular notice of Zhang Xiaohua and a few other colleagues he was on good terms with. Realizing they were preoccupied with mundane personal matters, he didn't dwell on it too much.

The one who really caught his attention was the colleague eager to chat with Ning Shang.

But once he saw who it was, Yin Tian completely let his guard down.

Buddy, if you're aiming to win over Leader Ning, you've got to at least meet the average in the looks department, if not match up to someone like me!

Yin Tian found it all quite amusing. His interest lay not in snooping on others' secrets but in getting to know his colleagues better.

He had no intention of carelessly spilling these insights to anyone.

...

After wrapping up his tasks, Lee Yifan made a beeline for Dung Tao's office.

He was seething and wanted to find out if there was any way to get even.

Previously, Lee Yifan had been so scared that he'd mindlessly assisted the first group for far too long. Now that they were gone, he felt emboldened to entertain these petty schemes.

Serving as the leader of the second group, it was utterly humiliating to be reduced to fetching tea and water for the slackers in the first group!

Dung Tao gave him an earful at first but ultimately seemed at a loss.

For the time being, he couldn't touch Yin Tian. If he tried anything, he wouldn't need Yin Tian's complaints for everyone to see him, Dung Tao, as a spiteful little man.

Clearly, he had misjudged his own standing, having always believed he maintained a respectable image among the staff!

"Brother Dong, I've got an idea."

After brooding together for a while, Lee Yifan suddenly looked up and spoke.

"What's your idea?" Dung Tao asked, not expecting much.

"The bet's about the insurance sales rights within the Carrimon city area, right?" Lee Yifan felt a twinge of regret as he brought it up.

"We've been relying on our existing customer base for years, with hardly any new clients coming in," Lee Yifan said, pausing briefly. "We can legitimately transfer this authority to him."

"However, we'll establish a separate line for him to secure orders—his own line."

"We, on the other hand, will keep a tight grip on our longstanding clients. That way, they'll have virtually no chance to engage with other customers."

"Of course, to deter small companies from seeking insurance with us on their own, we'll need to set a sales quota for him to meet."

"Without a roster of influential big clients, he won't be able to hit the company's sales targets—unless he somehow manages to bring every small company in the city to our door for insurance."

"With all the old customers under my control and barely a couple of new ones each year, he won't fulfill his objectives. When that happens, we can easily dismiss Yin Tian for insufficient performance!"

Initially, Dung Tao didn't take it seriously, but after fully considering Lee Yifan's advice, he was inwardly impressed.

What a cunning plan!

Each team is required to meet a specific insurance sales quota every month, as mandated by the headquarters.

By holding onto some of the old customers and not allowing Yin Tian any opportunity to undercut him, Lee Yifan wasn't breaking any rules.

If Yin Tian were to take his grievances to the main company, they could simply argue that the old customers have greater trust in Lee Yifan, ensuring their position remains unchallenged.

Checkmate!

A cold smile played on Dung Tao's lips.

In a month's time, Yin Tian would surely be out of the company.
