"No way!"

The moment Dung Tao finished speaking, a dissenting voice rang out.

"Who's that?" He turned to see Ning Shang, and quickly swallowed the curse that was on the tip of his tongue.

Ning Shang usually arrived at the company half an hour early, but today, for some reason, she was running behind.

Not that she was actually late; she hadn't missed the start of work, but by her standards, she was later than usual.

"Why should our team be the only one to shoulder extra burdens?"

Ning Shang's eyes, wide and intense, fixed on Dung Tao.

She had joined the lowest-performing team on purpose, to push herself. Through sheer determination, she had brought in Yin Tian.

Yin Tian alone had managed to complete the majority of the group's tasks.

Knowing her team wasn't the strongest, Ning Shang felt a strong surge of protectiveness. She was well aware of how hard Yin Tian had worked for those contracts, and it was during that time she began to take notice of him.

More tasks now? Would that not run Yin Tian ragged?

"Team Leader Ning, that's not the way to look at it," Dung Tao cleared his throat, "With greater power comes greater responsibility, right? Yin Tian hasn't bought a house yet, has he?"

He had resumed his facade of respectability in front of Ning Shang, but to Yin Tian and the others who had seen his true colors, it was nauseating.

"A man needs a house. I'm increasing your workload to ignite Yin Tian's ambition."

"Earn more, buy a house sooner, and settle down in Carrimon, isn't that the goal?"

Ning Shang seemed poised to argue, but Yin Tian accepted the challenge.

Dung Tao's pleased expression was short-lived as Yin Tian posed his own condition.

"But if we complete the task, what's our reward, Manager Dong?"

Dung Tao was taken aback. "What reward do you want? A raise?"

"Manager Dong, you're concerned about my housing situation, right? How about this... if we meet our goal, you give our team the exclusive rights to sell insurance in the city?" Yin Tian proposed with a confident smile.

After all, the city's residents were wealthy, and for them, purchasing insurance wasn't a hardship—they typically opted for the multimillion-dollar premium policies.

The insurance sales rights within the city had always been managed by Group Two, with Lee Yifan at the helm—a known associate of Dung Tao. Dung Tao was reluctant to let go of such a lucrative opportunity, but the prospect of ousting Yin Tian and having Ning Shang within easy reach was tempting.

With this in mind, he couldn't resist asking, "And what if you fail to complete the task?"

"What do you propose we do?"

Ning Shang's competitive spirit was piqued, and she boldly inquired about the stakes.

Yin Tian was dismissive. He could see right through Dung Tao's intentions—he was simply trying to corner him, fearing a change of heart.

But with his ace in the hole, how could he possibly lose?

In his retelling, Yin Tian became a figure consumed by jealousy of Lee Yifan and the second group, inciting the first group to revolt, and Dung Tao had reluctantly agreed to their demands to protect the company.

Lee Yifan, aware of Dung Tao's disdain for Yin Tian, had long wanted to get back at him but never found the opportunity.

"Great! I haven't dealt with him, yet he's coming after me!" Lee Yifan said, pounding the table in anger after hearing Dung Tao's version.

"Brother Dong, please help me out. Once he's gone, I'll increase your cut by 10% every month."

Dung Tao was inwardly delighted, though he maintained a stern facade, "Don't worry, you're one of my guys. I've got your back."
