C12 These Guys Don't Cut It

Although Lee Xin wasn't fond of Lin Fan picking up trash, he got along well with him.

He replied, "Don't say that. My roommates are all amazing. They are all exceptionally friendly and admirable at helping people. Hee Tingting received a new phone after Lin Fan bought it for her with money he had saved from picking up trash, which totaled 300 dollars. He even refused to eat three meals a day."

Lee Xin's girlfriend, Yu Lei, paused and frowned. "Regardless of how wonderful he is, he is still a loser. Each month, I spend about 400 dollars on beauty products. If we treat your roommates badly tonight, won't everyone lose face? Honestly, your roommates aren't good enough for my sisters. These guys don't cut it."

"Well..." After giving it some thought, Lee Xin figured that his girlfriend might be right.

Wang Datou and Zhang Yida had been pleading with him to organize this meetup for a while now. Besides, they had already reserved the venue for tonight's party. He would lose their respect if he refused to attend.

"Okay, don't worry about it. Anyway, we've already made the reservation. Let's just give it a shot." Yu Lei refrained from speaking more after realizing how difficult the situation must be for her boyfriend.

"Okay. Thank you, Lei."

Yunyu Musical Restaurant, seven o'clock in the evening.

Several girls carrying shopping bags went inside to relax after spending the afternoon at the mall.

They were the roommates of Lee Xin's girlfriend.

All four of them were pretty art majors. They possessed a natural aura that attracted people's attention owing to the aesthetic impact of being in the arts.

They were tall and slim, with light skin and attractive features. They even dressed up for the meetup tonight, especially the young lady with almond-shaped eyes and a pair of curved brows wearing a white dress. The pair of legs visible beneath her skirt were straight and long, and a little smile was all it took to make one's pulse race.

Although the four girls were the center of attention in the restaurant, they didn't seem to mind and had grown used to it. They were now engaged in a light conversation.

"Murann, do you think the boy who stole your drink yesterday did it intentionally? He grabbed your beverage after seeing you take a sip and then took off, taking advantage of your meekness."

"Maybe he wanted to kiss you indirectly. How disgusting!"

"Yes! He was acting like a pervert, right?"

"Do you know him? I'm friends with a senior from the Sports Department. Should we go look for that jerk and give him a lesson?"

Shaking her head, Xu Murann smiled. "I'm not familiar with him, and it's not a huge deal. I was just irritated at the time, but the more I think about it, the more I realize he was sweating profusely. He was most likely thirsty then."

"Still, he can't gulp down someone else's drink. A bottle of water costs less than a dollar. As far as I'm concerned, he's still a pervert."

"Sigh. Okay, let's drop this discussion now. Anyway, Yu Lei, how come your boyfriend and the others aren't here yet? We also have no idea who they are or what circumstances they are in."

"That's right. However, the family of Yu Lei's boyfriend is incredibly wealthy. He's also exceptionally appealing. Everyone claims that the Management Department is teeming with Rich Second Generation guys. Are others meeting us similarly tall, wealthy, and visually appealing?"

"I better behave well then and check to see whether my makeup still looks okay. If not, I'll have to do a quick retouch and act my best."

"Why are you trying so hard to act your best? You obviously want to snag someone affluent and become a rich man's girlfriend."

"Who doesn't want that?"

The other two girls likewise took out their compact powder to do a light touch-up, except for Xu Murann, who had a relaxed expression.

Yu Lei smiled wistfully. What sort of remarkable people were they expecting? Except for her boyfriend, the other guys were all losers. Once they've met them, they might even complain to her.

If she were to be really honest right now, they would probably leave before they ever saw them. Without a doubt, her boyfriend's side would react negatively. But there was no going back at this point. Besides, it was almost time for them to show up, and they would eat dinner together.

After giving it some consideration, she decided against speaking up.

Lin Fan and the other three boys had just gotten off the cab outside the restaurant when Lee Xin yelled for them to go in.

Lin Huasheng parked his car across the street, and Lin Fan saw it immediately.

"You guys go in first," he remarked to the three boys. "I have to take care of something. I'll join you in a while."

Wang Datou quipped, "Hey, Lin Fan, don't run away. Bring back the energy you used to pursue Hee Tingting."

As the three entered the restaurant, Lin Fan smiled and watched their backs. Then he went away, turning around.

"Lei, we're here. Hi Murann, Shasha, and Pingping." Lee Xin smiled and greeted them when he spotted his girlfriend's roommates.

"We're coming."

Shasha and Pingping rose to their feet and peered around in delight.

However, their enthusiasm died out after merely giving the boys a quick look.

How could they be exceptional? He had to have brought along two disheveled creatures.

Wang Datou's dark, crimson face turned purple as he caught sight of the beautiful lady before him. He locked his gaze on her without blinking while exhaling hard from his nostrils, like a bull in heat.

Zhang Yida looked even more thrilled. He was sporting a wide grin, and the pockmarks on his face made smiling more undesirable than sobbing.

The girls were so terrified that their cheeks turned pale as they saw the two of them being so ravenously hungry that they did not care about dinner.

Lee Xin hoped he could slap some sense into these two depressing idiots with a single blow. He tried to control the situation while forcing a smile. "I'm sorry, but these two lack effective communication skills when speaking to girls. They are genuinely decent guys. Just give them some time, and you'll understand what I mean."

Shasha and Pingping rolled their eyes. Who would consider such a thing and give them a chance?

Suddenly, Yu Lei interrupted, saying, "Now that everyone is here, let's all take a seat. But why are there only three of you? Where is the other one?"

Lee Xin replied, "We came here together, but Lin Fan said he had to do something first and would follow shortly."

He then urged Wang Datou and Zhang Yida to sit down after speaking. The atmosphere seemed rather awkward.

On the girls' side, nobody wanted to talk. The two ladies seated next to the boys were so anxious that their legs were shaking.

Lee Xin was somewhat acquainted with the girls, as he was the one who had planned this meeting. He was naturally assigned the task of enlightening the mood.

"There's only Lin Fan left. Let's not waste our time waiting for him. We should place our order first. The ladies are free to order anything they want. It's my treat tonight."

Lee Xin was a tall, stunning young man, and the girls had a favorable impression of him, especially because he was Yu Lei's boyfriend. Meanwhile, Wang Datou and Zhang Yida weren't popular with the females.

Everyone agreed with him. They took the menu and began placing their orders.

Shasha muttered, "Lei, did you know that your boyfriend's roommates would be like this? If we knew they were losers, we wouldn't have come."

Yu Lei said coldly, "They are not all like this. Lin Fan, who has yet to arrive, is really very good-looking."

Meanwhile, outside the restaurant, Lin Huasheng saw Lin Fan approaching him. "Young Master Lin, the hospital's acquisition procedure is complete," he said as he stepped out of the car. "You just need to sign this document."

Lin Fan was taken aback. "Already?"

Lin Huasheng smiled and said, "I processed it as soon as you told me to."

Lin Fan remembered something after signing and added, "I still wish to lead a peaceful existence. I will continue to keep a low profile in public. You should make an effort to stay out of sight the next time you see me with my friends."

"Young Master, I understand. Don't worry. I'll also let your family know that they can't bother you."

Lin Fan gave a satisfied nod before turning around and entering the restaurant.

When he finally located Lee Xin's table, Xu Murann happened to look up at the same time. Their two eyes locked, leaving them both speechless.
