C17 Dismissed

The following morning, Lin Fan got out of bed early. He cleaned up before going to the sports field to run and work out.

Over the years, he had formed the habit of doing this. Lin Fan thought that it was about time for him to walk to the grassy field and take a break after doing laps around the oval-shaped running track.

He nonchalantly picked up a couple of empty mineral water bottles that littered the area.

Scavenging had been a habit for him for the last six years. Unconsciously, he went to pick up the trash that could be sold for money when he spotted it.

"Look! Isn't that Lin Fan? People claimed he was a Rich Second Generation man, didn't they? Why does he continue to pick up trash?"

Someone who saw him said it in a low voice.

"You actually believe those rumors? How was it possible for the Rich Second Generation to show up here and pick up trash? I'm sure it's all a lie."

With a sour smile, Lin Fan regarded the empty bottle in his palm. He used to pick up trash since his family had taught him to, but there was no need for him to do such an absurd thing now that he had inherited some properties.

He calmly tossed the bottle into the trash bin as he bid his past life goodbye.

Suddenly, the phone in his pocket rang. Lin Fan looked at the screen to check who was calling and frowned.

His department head, Ma Yande, called. King Yama Ma was the moniker someone gave him. He was a cruel man who frequently threatened to kick him off campus.

The wealthy and influential students in his family didn't really matter to him. He enjoyed getting the underprivileged students into trouble.

Money was always a factor in his punishments.

He even coerced several female students into having a relationship with him. The issue spread like wildfire in school.

King Yama used to threaten any female student to have sex with him. Otherwise, he would fail her if she refused.

He was like a nasty beast!

King Yama Ma was an evil person who lacked morality. He would not have sat peacefully in the dean's chair for so many years if he did not have some connection with the school's officers.

For him to raise funds to get Hee Tingting a new phone, Lin Fan missed a lot of classes to pick up trash.

During this time, the eyes of King Yama Ma were on him.

"Lin Fan, come to my office at once!"

King Yama Ma barked at him before hanging up the phone.

Lin Fan sighed dejectedly. He knew he couldn't escape what was meant to happen. He was curious to know what King Yama Ma was up to this time.

On the way to the office, he met his three roommates.

"Lin Fan, I heard King Yama Ma is messing with you," Wang Datou said as he gasped for air. "King Yama Ma would undoubtedly cause trouble because you have missed a lot of classes in the past."

Zhang Yida added, "Yes, I gave him a thousand dollars before, but he still thought it wasn't enough. He only released me when I borrowed money and gave him a thousand dollars in cash."

"King Yama Ma knows your financial situation is not good," Lee Xin said, frowning. "You often pick up trash, so it's unlikely that he'll ask you for any amount. Why don't you just apologize to him? If he fails you in your course, it will be more problematic."

Lin Fan scoffed inwardly. "You're asking me to apologize to him? No way!"

He possessed the pride of a big clan, being a direct descendant of the Lin Family.

"Don't worry about it."

He said goodbye to them and proceeded to the Teacher's Office.

Lin Fan knocked twice then pulled the door open and walked in.

The live broadcast platform had King Yama Ma's full attention. On the screen, a woman was about to remove her clothes.

King Yama Ma quickly closed the page after noticing Lin Fan come in unexpectedly.

King Yama Ma was upset after being disturbed at such a crucial time, and he was unable to control his rage any longer.

"Don't you know how to knock on the door before coming in? Do you know why I asked you to my office today?"

"It's probably because I skipped classed before," Lin Fan replied.

"Do you know what the repercussions are for missing classes without good reason? You can forget about earning any credits this year. You will automatically fail all your major subjects!"

"Isn't that a little too much?" Lin Fan asked.

"You know what to do if you don't want to fail." King Yama Ma spoke in a profound way.

Lin Fan scoffed discreetly. He was asking him for bribe money. This King Yama Ma had no shame at all.

Lin Fan was a student from a low-income household in the eyes of the public. Despite this information, King Yama Ma still asked him for money!

"How much do you want? Just tell me the amount."

King Yama Ma smiled after realizing Lin Fan was negotiating with him. "I am aware of how challenging your life is. However, if you make a mistake, you must learn from it. Three thousand dollars."

I know I have let you down," Lin Fan said quietly as he sat on the chair next to him. "However, I didn't come to give you money today, and I'm not going to beg you to forgive me."

King Yama Ma shot him a startling look. "What? Aren't you afraid to fail the class? Do you seriously think I'm just fooling around here?"

Lin Fan raised his index finger and gave it a shake. "No. I am warning you not to meddle in my affairs in the future. Just act as though you didn't do anything unusual in the previous classes, or you risk being fired."

Lin Fan's remarks amused King Yama Ma. "Are you dreaming? You dare to threaten me again? How foolish!"

"You can try."

"Lin Fan, don't you know what's good for you?" King Yama Ma sneered. "You need to transfer the money to me by noon today. If not, it won't be as direct as failing the course. Don't you think I could expel you right away?"

Lin Fan wasn't only poor but also a very foolish man in King Yama Ma's eyes.

He would undoubtedly be scared of getting dismissed.

Lin Fan's expression grew darker. "I'll give you one last chance. Don't hold it against me for being rude if you insist on being so rude."

Immediately, King Yama Ma became aggressive. "Who do you think you are? You're just a downtrodden rural bumpkin, yet you dare to treat me badly! I will expel you today; I'll tell you that much!"

Lin Fan nodded with a smile. "Yes, let's see who can dismiss who first."

He walked out of the office without turning back after saying that.

"You are merely a piece of trash!" King Yama Ma said this while holding back the rage in his heart. "You should leave the school immediately. Go back to your dorm and pack your things!"

Teachers at the university were considered gods. They had complete influence and control over the student body.

Lin Fan infuriated King Yama Ma. Never before did a student dare address him in such a manner. He had already made up his mind to kick him out of school today.
