C20 War
On the way, Master Han did not stop for a moment as he had visited several nearby cities and felt nothing new. He just stopped for dinner and then started his journey again. Looking at the map, he soon arrived at a sparsely populated area. Master Han found a carriage and got on it. He then ordered the coachman to drive the carriage forward.
The place was huge, and there were no market towns anywhere, so they had to travel for many days in one carriage. That night, the horse carriage arrived at an intersection where a few ragged people, who seemed to be refugees, were gnawing on black mantou in their hands. The horses were tired, so the coachman stopped here, took out some water and grass to feed the horses. Master Han also got off the carriage and saw the dozen or so refugees, then he took out his own food and passed it to them. The dozen or so refugees were moved and moved as they thanked him profusely.
Seeing the refugees quickly finishing their food, Master Han took out a dozen more gold coins and gave each of them one. The refugees were so touched that they were almost crying. Some of them even kneeled on the ground while shouting out their thanks. A refugee said, "Young Master, are you going forward? "You all better not go. There's a war going on over there. We escaped from the front, so you all should just go back or take a detour."
Master Han frowned and said with a smile, "It's nothing. I'm leaving, they beat me up." The other refugees tried to persuade him again, but seeing that Han shi was still smiling, they sighed and stopped trying to persuade him.
When the coachman heard that there was going to be a war ahead, he immediately said to Han shi, "Young Master, there's a war ahead, why don't we go back? "It's very dangerous." There was a war in front, and the rest of the journey had already been going for a few days. Han Shi wouldn't return, but seeing how scared this coachman was, he could only say, "Then go back, Big Brother. There's no need to return the money. I'll leave alone."
When the coachman heard Han shi's words, he heaved a sigh of relief. He immediately returned in the carriage, afraid that Han shi would change his mind. If he left without a day's journey, he would earn a lot of money.
As Han Shi walked along the small path by himself, holding a book in his hands, he slowly looked around at the scenery. The surroundings were all wilderness, and from time to time, bold rabbits could be seen peeking out from the weeds, curiously looking at Han Shi on the small path. Master Han thought to himself, There are really many wild beasts in this world, such fat rabbits aren't afraid of humans at all. However, this rabbit was very cute and didn't have any cruel thoughts after seeing it.
As the sky slowly darkened, roars of beasts came from the wilderness. The most common sound was the howls of wild wolves. Master Han shook his head. It seemed that he wouldn't be able to sleep soundly tonight. These wild wolves would definitely come and cause trouble for him. A silvery white moon hung in the sky; it was very dazzling, allowing them to travel at night. However, Master Han didn't want to continue walking at night, so he found a clean place and spread out a layer of silk cloth. Lying on it, he looked at the stars in the sky and counted them one by one.
After counting the stars for a while, those wild wolves really came to disturb him. A dozen wild wolves' eyeballs glowed with green light as they slowly approached Master Han. Master Han smiled and stood up, saying, "I just happen to be hungry, so you guys came to send me food, hehe."
Master Han picked up a tree branch from the ground. With a shake of his hand, the tree branch was broken into more than ten sections. Master Han picked up a tree branch from the ground, and with a shake of his hand, the tree branch became a dozen sections. "The wild wolves behind him saw that their own kind had been killed in an instant, and with a howl of fear, they ran off into the distance.
He started to roast the wild wolf, and after a while, seeing that the wild wolf meat was cooked, he took out some spices from his bag and sprinkled them on the cooked meat. Then, he started to eat the meat in a beautiful manner, because he had been starving for the whole day. Right now, the roast meat was the best delicacy, even though it was a little burnt.
After eating and drinking to his heart's content, Master Han was about to fall asleep, but a huge beast appeared in front of him. This beast was as big as a cow and extremely ferocious. Master Han thought to himself, I've always been at the Han house and haven't greeted this beast before. How about I take a look at this beast now? "Come here, little one, let me have a look."
Seeing Master Han's relaxed appearance, the gigantic beast seemed to have understood what he was saying, and it pointed its horn at him. Han Shi did not retaliate, but dodged the attack.
Like a bull fighting, Master Han easily dodged the behemoth's attack. The behemoth was panting heavily, but the saliva left in its mouth showed that it was very hungry, so even though it was tired, it continued to attack Master Han.
After playing for a while, Master Han didn't want to play with the beast anymore. He punched the beast on the head. The water buffalo sized beast was killed with a single punch. Looking at the dead behemoth, Master Han thought to himself, there should be a lot of wild beasts attacking tonight. I heard that ordinary wild beasts are afraid of fire, so I might as well raise the bonfire a little. The Korean found a lot of branches and immediately raised the bonfire. Seeing such a big fire, all the wild beasts in the distance ran away. The surroundings instantly became silent, and only the sounds of insects could be heard.
Master Han counted the stars until dawn. Seeing the sun on the horizon, he also felt tired. Lying on the silk cloth, Master Han slept until noon. Then he got up and continued walking forward.
Along the way, many farmland was trampled by horses. It seemed like there really was a war. These farmland were destroyed by the army. Master Han lamented the fact that these farmland were the peasants' lifeblood. If they destroyed the farmland, there would be no food for them. After walking for half a day, it was night again. Was he going to spend the night in the wilderness again? Just as Master Han was about to lie down, he suddenly saw some lights in the distance. Master Han was overjoyed, it seemed that he could find a place to spend the night. He picked up his backpack immediately and ran towards the light.
Only when they got closer did Han Shi notice that the lights were not lights of other people, but a group of soldiers holding torches. Master Han did not slow down and instead ran towards it. When he got near, the scene before him made him extremely angry.
A soldier was moving the body of a peasant girl. The peasant woman was screaming and screaming while the soldier was laughing out loud. Some of the surrounding soldiers were killing the farmers, while some were dragging some of the women outside. Seeing this scene, Han Shi immediately drew his sword and beheaded the female soldier. When the soldiers saw that their man had been killed, they immediately raised their weapons and rushed towards Master Han, saying, "Little bastard!"
Soon, Han Shi cut the soldiers into several sections. The commoners knelt on the ground and shouted their thanks. Han Shi said, "Hurry up and get up. You don't need to thank me. If you want to thank me, then find me a bed. I'm very sleepy." Immediately, a little boy came to Han Shi's side and said, "Brother, let's go to our house and sleep. I'm the only one left in our house, my parents and all my family were killed by the soldiers." said the little boy, and began to cry.
It turned out that these soldiers were fighting soldiers of the Wu nation. The soldiers of the Wu country always liked to burn, kill, rob, and loot, while the other warring country was the State of Yue, which was much weaker than the State of Wu. In a short while, the State of Yue would be destroyed by the State of Wu, and when that happened, who knew how many civilians would die in the State of Yue?
Listening to the little boy's words, Han Shi felt very uncomfortable. He didn't know how many scenes were going to unfold in the future, and what he should do.
After thinking for a while, Han Shi made the decision to kill the leader of Wu Country, as well as those officers at the regimental level and above. That way, the war would be over. After making this decision, Master Han fell into a deep sleep. It had been several days since he fell asleep.
The next day, after he got up, he saw the little boy coming over with some steamed buns. Master Han picked up a steamed bun and started eating. After eating, he took out a gold coin and handed it to the little boy. The little boy looked at the gold coin in surprise and exclaimed, "Gold coins! "This is a gold coin!"
Master Han quickly covered his mouth and said, "Don't let others hear it, or they will steal your gold." The little boy stopped screaming and put the gold coin into his pocket.
Master Han went outside to call all the children over, then he gave each of them a gold coin and instructed them not to let anyone know. The smiles on the faces of those kids were blooming like flowers. They were very happy. After asking the children about the location of the war, Master Han started to walk towards the location of the war. He was going to kill the military officers of Wu Country to end the war.
Cultivators of the Dou Shi class and above were not allowed to participate in wars. No one could tell Master Han's cultivation, so it was easy for Master Han to kill those officers.
When they arrived at the location of the battle, they saw that it was also a wilderness. The two armies were stationed not far away from them. After taking a look, Master Han decided to wait until it was dark before moving on.
After waiting for a few hours, Han Shi stood up and covered his face with a cloth. Then, he quickly ran towards the military camp of Wu Country, where he killed a soldier of Wu Country and changed his clothes. After asking about the characteristics of the officer's clothes in the military camp, he went to one of the tents and killed an officer of Wu Country like a patrol soldier.
After midnight, with the death of a general and the arrival of an assassin, the assassination ended. Master Han, on the other hand, had opened a path of blood to escape. When he returned home, the young boy saw that Han Shi was covered in blood and asked timidly, "Brother, did you go and kill someone?"
