C18 A Bald Head
In Chen Hang's home, he knelt before his grandfather, Chen Yu, with tears in his voice, "Grandfather, even you never laid a hand on me, and yet that guy had the nerve to slap me today!"
Chen Hang's father had passed away early, and Chen Yu had always been his protector. Seeing his grandson with a bloodied face was more than he could bear.
"Find out who did this!"
Chen Yu, seated in a solid wooden armchair, squeezed the Baoding iron ball in his hand until it was misshapen and slammed it onto the table!
At Chen Yu's command, the entire Chen family in Zruhpus began their search for Zhang Luo.
Approaching the Skytop Estates, one ascends a small slope to find a two-story detached villa situated in the middle of the road, with paths branching off to the left and right into the neighborhood.
Below the villa lay a vast garden, already brimming with vibrant flowers.
The view from the front of the villa was unobstructed, offering a panoramic view of the boundless sea. Zhang Luo arrived at the door, pushed it open, and found Lin Handong seated on the couch with a cup of tea on the coffee table before him.
"Mr. Zhang, welcome!"
"How's the renovation progressing?"
Upon hearing the sound from the door, Lin Handong quickly rose to greet him.
"Master Zhang, everything has been designed to your specifications!"
The room boasted a German-style decor. Once, Yang Yuan had remarked while lounging on the bed, "To live in a house he designed would be a dream come true!"
While Yang Yuan was distracted, Zhang Luo flipped through a magazine and spotted a barstool designed by the renowned German designer Konstantin for Plank.
"Yang Yuan is going to love this!"
Zhang Luo reflected on how the absence of Chinese-style elements in the house lent it an air of relaxation. The design philosophy centered on human comfort, giving the room a youthful vibe.
"Master Zhang, here are the keys!"
Lin Handong, as a director of the Chawam Group, had followed Zhang Luo's orders and moved his life and work to this location.
"Thank you for your efforts. You can head back now; we'll move in tomorrow!"
"Understood, Mr. Zhang. We'll definitely be there on time tomorrow!"
With that, Lin Handong was escorted away by the staff of the Chawam Group.
Zhang Luo locked the door, contemplating a stroll through Skytop Estates. He looked forward to walking there with Yang Yuan in the future. After meals, she often expressed a desire to walk, but living in Old Town, they lacked a nearby park and had never done so.
From now on, whenever Yang Yuan wished to take a walk, Zhang Luo could join her, savoring the birdsong and floral scents at Skytop Estates, with the seamless horizon of the sea stretching before them. The thought brought a smile to Zhang Luo's lips.
"There he is!"
As Zhang Luo was about to leave Skytop Estates, a group of people caught up to him, led by Chen Hang, his face now clean of blood but visibly swollen.
Zhang Luo turned to find himself encircled. An elderly man in a white suit emerged from the crowd.
"Are you Chen Yu?"
Zhang Luo inquired, eyeing the old man in the white suit.
"Yes, I am. Why did you hit my grandson?"
"Baldy, he was disrespectful first. I was just giving him a lesson on your behalf!"
To call Chen Yu 'baldy' was audacious! A bodyguard nearby brandished his weapon, ready to tackle Zhang Luo.
"Stop!"
Chen Hang was shocked. He knew his grandfather had clawed his way to success, and anyone else using such a term would likely have been reduced to pulp by now.
Chen Yu commanded, and the bodyguard froze, his hand mid-air.
"What's wrong, Grandfather?"
Chen Hang inquired, standing to the side.
Chen Yu seemed not to hear Chen Hang, stepping closer to Zhang Luo: "What did you call me?"
Zhang Luo was aware that such a term could provoke a fight between strangers.
"What did you call me?" Chen Yu pressed, staring at Zhang Luo.
"Baldy!" Zhang Luo raised his voice intentionally.
This young man was courting death! As if calling Chen Yu 'baldy' once wasn't enough, he had shouted it again!
The bodyguard's hand rose once more, and he made a silent vow: this time, if he didn't beat Zhang Luo until he was searching for his teeth on the ground, he didn't deserve to be Chen Yu's bodyguard.
Chen Yu hesitated. This young man was brazenly calling him 'bald head.' Could it be true?
"Do you realize there's only one person in the world who can call me 'bald head'?"
"And what of it?"
"Are you the young master?"
Zhang Luo stood silently to the side, which only made Chen Yu more certain that he was indeed the young master.
Twenty years ago, Zhang Luo was just a seven or eight-year-old child. At that time, due to an economic crisis, Chen Yu had been compelled to seek help from the Zhang family. Zhang Luo didn't know the full extent of the Zhang family's power, but they were strong enough to save the whole of Zruhpus during that crisis. Without the aid of Zhang Luo's father, how could Chen Yu have risen to his current status?
The bodyguard withdrew his hand and stood dutifully behind Chen Yu.
As a child, Zhang Luo would play with anyone who was kind to him. Chen Yu would always spend time playing with young Zhang Luo in the courtyard before meeting with his father. Not knowing Chen Yu's name and seeing his completely bald, round head, the nickname 'bald head' naturally stuck.
"Grandpa, why aren't you disciplining him?" Chen Hang, unaware of what 'young master' meant, watched his grandfather not taking action and grew anxious.
"Smack!"
Chen Yu's hand struck Chen Hang across the face.
"You disrespectful brat, apologize to Mr. Zhang right now!"
"Grandpa!"
Another slap from Chen Yu left Chen Hang's face even more swollen.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong to look down on you!"
"My apologies, Young Master. It's my fault for being overly indulgent. I've forgotten my manners."
"Go apologize to the security guard at the entrance!"
Zhang Luo instructed Chen Hang, whose face was now streaked with tears. After being slapped twice by Zhang Luo and twice more by his grandfather, his face had turned red and swollen, the pain bringing tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Why should I apologize to the security guard?"
It was one thing for him to apologize to Zhang Luo because of his grandfather, but now they were expecting Chen Hang to apologize to the security guard at the entrance of the neighborhood!
"Why should he? Being a security guard is his job. If he shows you respect, you owe him the same courtesy."
"Damn, what nonsense is this?"
Chen Hang muttered under his breath. Zhang Luo had even taken the time to explain why he should apologize.
After all that talking, Chen Hang still approached the security room with a scowl on his face.
"Is everything okay now?"
That was hardly an apology.
Chen Hang had the demeanor of a boss questioning an underling, glancing at the security room before turning on his heel to leave.
Zhang Luo didn't give a second glance to Chen Yu's reaction. With a swift turn, he delivered a kick to Chen Hang's knee. Caught off guard, Chen Hang stumbled forward, ending up on his knees at the door of the security room.
"Apologize properly!"
Zhang Luo commanded, pressing down on Chen Hang's shoulder.
"To hell with that!"
The kick had ignited Chen Hang's fury. He twisted free from Zhang Luo's grasp and swung a punch at him!
"Stop it right now!"
Chen Yu yelled at Chen Hang, concerned that his grandson, who was prone to brawling with ruffians after a few drinks, might injure Mr. Zhang.
"You bald fool, let me teach you a proper lesson!"
