C2 Bank Blacklist

"You're talking nonsense!"

"Enough! What's all this commotion about?"

At that moment, Yang Shuozheng, supported by the servants, emerged from the house.

"Grandfather, I went out of my way to bring this sandalwood from India to honor Grandma, and this worthless son-in-law claims it's a fake!" Yang Ming presented the sandalwood to his grandfather.

The elder had a keener understanding of sandalwood than Zhang Luo, who was trying to pass off inferior quality as premium old sandalwood.

"Grandfather, could you please take a look and tell us if this sandalwood is authentic?"

The Yang family relatives began to stir, prompting the elder to examine the sandalwood.

"Indeed, this is genuine old sandalwood!"

Yang Shuozheng inspected the box and sniffed it before making his declaration.

"You fool, you can't even recognize something as obvious as Mount Tai. Kneel down and apologize this instant!"

Yang Ming stood before Zhang Luo, pointing to the floor.

It was inconceivable; Yang Shuozheng couldn't possibly be mistaken! Zhang Luo looked at the elder, his face etched with confusion.

"Today we're here to honor your grandmother. A simple apology will suffice. Yang Ming, place the incense in the burner and light it," Yang Shuozheng instructed.

"You should control your disgraceful behavior, especially during the three-year commemoration of Grandma's passing!"

"The fool who married Yang Yuan is truly her equal."

"I wonder how Jianchuan's family raised such a person."

Upon hearing the relatives' murmurs of disapproval, Wang Yan could no longer contain her frustration. She stood up and slapped Zhang Luo, admonishing him, "Speak less in the future!"

A burning sensation spread across his face, and Zhang Luo's cheek swelled as anger welled up inside him. He clenched his fists tightly.

But he soon regained his composure. How could Yang Shuozheng not recognize the truth?

Even if Yang Shuozheng did recognize it, he wouldn't criticize his own grandson, especially when I'm just an outsider!

Realizing this, Zhang Luo quietly said to Yang Ming, "I'm sorry."

The memorial service was straightforward; everyone took turns bowing to Grandma before proceeding to the dining hall for a meal.

The Yang family's seating at the table was arranged according to the closeness of their kinship.

Yang Jianchuan and Wang Yan, the eldest son and daughter-in-law of the Yang family, were relegated to a corner, clearly not favored by the others.

Yang Jianchuan, known for his indecisiveness yet honest nature, had been poised to take over the Yang Group as planned by the patriarch. However, his position was usurped by Yang Linchuan through deceitful means.

At the second table sat the eldest grandson and granddaughter of the Yang family, Yang Ming and Yang Yuan. Yang Ming stared at Zhang Luo with a blank expression, his anger from earlier still palpable.

The third table hosted various relatives of the Yang family, including uncles and aunts who, thanks to their connection to the Yangs, managed to secure a piece of the Yang Group's business for themselves, faring quite well as a result.

The fourth table was reserved for the Yang family's servants and drivers. Although the fare wasn't as lavish as at the other tables, it was still plentiful.

Zhang Luo tucked himself away in a corner of the fourth table, eating heartily and paying no mind to the surrounding commotion.

After the meal, Wang Yan bid farewell to Yang Ming's family, who responded with cold indifference and promptly departed in their Mercedes.

Wang Yan bitterly reproached, "If it weren't for you, who would dare to look down on our family?"

Yang Jianchuan opened his mouth to respond but was silenced by a stern look from Wang Yan, who intimidated him into submission.

"If Yang Yuan had brought Lin Kai here today, I doubt anyone would dare to scorn us."

Wang Yan fumed, stamping her foot in frustration.

Lin Kai, the heir to the Chawam Group from Zruhpus, had been one of Yang Yuan's suitors in college. They had maintained a professional relationship post-graduation and were on the brink of discussing marriage when Yang Shuozheng arranged for Yang Yuan to marry Zhang Luo instead.

Since then, Lin Kai had ceased his pursuit of Yang Yuan, but Wang Yan continued to needle Zhang Luo with the matter.

Upon hearing Wang Yan's words, Yang Yuan felt a stir in her heart. She hailed a taxi and left without a second thought for Zhang Luo.

Zhang Luo approached the entrance of Huaxia Bank and considered the bank card his father had given him, which was issued by the same bank.

Curious about the balance, he inserted the card into an ATM.

Before the card could load, it was swallowed by the machine. He summoned the bank staff for assistance.

Despite their help, the card was swallowed again, a problem he had never encountered before.

At that moment, a middle-aged man in his forties emerged from the office. He was of average height, with a square face and temples graying slightly.

"The customer's card keeps getting swallowed," the staff informed the bank manager.

The manager gave Zhang Luo a once-over before accompanying him to the counter to address the issue.

At the counter, the bank card continued to malfunction. On the second attempt, the entire bank's alarm system blared.

The bank's security team swarmed in, encircling Zhang Luo.

The bank manager had a daring hypothesis. He dismissed the security guards, removed the bank card from the computer, and normalcy was swiftly restored.

The manager intended to escort Zhang Luo to his office but was intercepted by a man in a bank uniform, identified as Manager Lee by his badge.

"Let me handle this blacklisted individual," Manager Lee insisted.

"Blacklisted?" Zhang Luo inquired, puzzled.

"Young man, you're probably unaware, but our Huaxia Bank has a special system for individuals like you. If you're blacklisted, an alarm is triggered," Manager Lee explained, attempting to lead Zhang Luo away. However, the bank manager intervened.

"Lee, go connect the fingerprint verifier from my office," the bank manager instructed.

Manager Lee's face paled, and he promptly released Zhang Luo. The fingerprint verifier in the manager's office was reserved for clients with assets exceeding one hundred million yuan. How could this unassuming man, dressed in simple attire, possibly be a billionaire?

Zhang Luo followed the bank manager to his office, which was neatly organized and typical in appearance. Manager Lee opened a cabinet to reveal a safe with a fingerprint lock.

The manager approached the safe, opened it, and retrieved a device, presumably the fingerprint verifier he had mentioned.

Inserting Zhang Luo's card into the computer, the manager instructed him to place his fingerprint on the verifier. "Fingerprint verification successful!" announced the device, prompting a smile from the manager.

"It's unexpected to find someone of your stature in our city," the manager remarked, inviting Zhang Luo to take a seat and swiveling the computer screen toward him.

Manager Lee collapsed onto the ground, while Zhang Luo jolted in shock. Fortunately, the bank president had previously invited Zhang Luo to take a seat, sparing him from sharing Manager Lee's awkward predicament.

Seeing the balance of two billion in his account, Zhang Luo was astonished. To be sure, he recounted the zeros after the two—indeed, it was two billion.

The individual he had mistaken for having a non-existent account was in fact a billionaire! Manager Lee sat dumbfounded on the floor.

"Manager Lee, please issue a standard card for Mr. Zhang and deposit one billion into it," the president instructed, looking at Manager Lee on the ground. Manager Lee hurriedly scurried off to comply.

"Mr. Zhang, I truly didn't expect this. There are only twenty of these cards worldwide, and they're even scarcer here in China," the president said with a smile, extending his hand for a handshake. Becoming friends with someone like Zhang Luo could significantly benefit his career.

Before long, Manager Lee returned with a regular savings card. "Mr. Zhang, here is your bank card." For a client of such magnitude, there was no need for personal involvement; the bank would handle everything.

"Mr. Zhang, is there anything else you need assistance with?" the president inquired respectfully.

"Am I still considered unbanked?" Zhang Luo recovered his composure. With his father's and the Zhang family's resources, this sum of money was manageable.

"No, certainly not, Mr. Zhang. I failed to recognize your stature!" Manager Lee realized that for a billionaire like him, causing trouble would be as simple as squashing an ant.

Laughing heartily, Zhang Luo took the new bank card and exited the bank.

Meanwhile, in the CM Building in Ouverson City, Li Chun Jing made a phone call: "Boss, the bank card has been used in Zruhpus, and one billion was withdrawn."
