C7 Skytop Estates

After seeing Yang Yuan off, Zhang Luo checked the date.

In just one week, it would mark the third anniversary of his marriage to Yang Yuan. Determined to shed his image as a pushover, he resolved that from their anniversary onward, he would show the Yang family relatives that Yang Yuan had married a good husband.

With this in mind, Zhang Luo made his way to the sales office at Skytop Estates, the most prestigious villa community in Zruhpus. Along with the Heart of Zruhpus, it stood as a landmark of the city's modern architecture.

Outside, a man was perusing the Skytop Estates promotional poster. He didn't arrive in a luxury car or have the air of an heir to a fortune. His attire screamed 'average Joe.'

"Wei Yue, could you assist this gentleman?" the sales manager instructed after assessing Zhang Luo.

"Of course, manager."

Wei Yue quickly organized her documents and hurried over to Zhang Luo, straightening her clothes as she approached.

"Good day, sir. I'm a sales representative for Skytop Estates. Which type of home are you interested in?"

"Which type? This guy probably can only afford one of the cheaper models," a woman remarked. Accompanying her was a bald man; they seemed quite close.

Zhang Luo glanced where the woman pointed and saw a row of modest villas on the periphery of the model, not quite fitting in with the rest of the Skytop community.

"I'm sorry, sir, but those villas have all been sold," Wei Yue informed Zhang Luo, noticing his gaze.

"Hahaha... Just as I thought, all poor people are the same!" the woman scoffed, seeing Zhang Luo eyeing the homes she had dismissed.

"Miss Lee, welcome!" another sales associate greeted Lee Na.

"The villa you were interested in has sold, but we have another similar one. It's centrally located within the community, though it is priced a bit higher."

Zhang Luo edged closer upon hearing the salesperson's pitch.

"Sir, this area features our most exclusive villas," Wei Yue informed Zhang Luo.

"Are you not selling this high-end villa?"

Zhang Luo inquired.

"Of course, we're selling. That's exactly what I'm doing right now. You might want to check out the other properties over there."

Lee Na noticed Zhang Luo approaching and suggested.

"How much is this one selling for?"

Zhang Luo asked, pointing to the villa at the very center of the estate.

"Sir, this villa is on the market for 30 million, with a down payment of 15 million required."

Wei Yue clarified.

"Wei Yue, why bother telling him? Can he even afford it?"

Another salesperson chimed in skeptically.

Zhang Luo disregarded the comment and presented his bank card, which held ten billion, to Wei Yue, declaring, "I'll take it!"

"Wait, don't you know it's first come, first served?" Lee Na exclaimed, growing impatient.

Zhang Luo noticed Lee Na and the bald man behind her. The man seemed to flinch at the price.

"Ms. Lee, if you make the payment now, the villa is still yours."

Lee Na turned to the man behind her and pleaded sweetly, "Tiger, I really want it."

Tiger whispered something to Lee Na and made a quick phone call.

"Tiger, how much more do you need?"

Soon after, Lin Kai hurried over. It turned out that Tiger was acquainted with the heir to the Chawam!

"Well, if it isn't the Yang family's good-for-nothing son-in-law. You think you can afford a villa?"

Lin Kai, spotting Zhang Luo, decided to seize the opportunity to ridicule him.

"Tiger, let's get the payment sorted."

Lee Na urged Tiger, tugging at his arm.

The female manager emerged from her office, having observed the situation for quite some time. Both parties were interested in the villa, and the newcomer was none other than the Chawam heir.

The financial status of the young man was unclear, but Lin Kai was undoubtedly wealthy. By instigating a bidding war, she could maximize the profit.

Unbeknownst to the others, Lin Kai's pockets were empty.

Tiger had previously assisted Lin Kai, knowing full well that he was the Chawam heir. Lin Kai would not have involved himself if he didn't foresee Tiger being of use to him in the future.

"It seems both parties are interested in this villa. Let's see who can offer the highest price, shall we?"

The female manager sent the salespeople back to their office, ready to handle this lucrative deal herself.

"What happened to the price we just agreed on? Now you want to bid again?"

Tiger was getting impatient.

"Did you hear that, kid? If you've got any sense, you'll get out of here fast. Tiger here has money to burn."

Lee Na said, eyeing Zhang Luo.

Lin Kai glanced at Zhang Luo, puzzled. When did this kid get so rich? Impossible. Yang Yuan was still living in Old Town! How could he have struck it rich overnight?

"Well, if there are no objections, let's start the bidding. The opening bid is thirty million," the female manager announced cheerfully.

"Thirty-five million," Lin Kai called out, eager to see if Zhang Luo was just putting on airs. Even if he didn't have the money now, he could always pay later. No one would dare trouble the Chawam.

"Fifty million," Zhang Luo declared, hiking the price up to fifty million!

Tiger and Lin Kai were stunned, and even Lee Na was at a loss for words.

The female manager was thrilled. Originally, selling the house for thirty million would have netted her a decent commission, but now, with the price soaring, the extra earnings would be a windfall.

Not rushing the countdown, the manager hoped to drive the price even higher.

"Fifty-five million," Lin Kai bid, seething with anger. Zhang Luo had outshone him at Yang Yuan's place last time, and today, he was determined to deflate Zhang Luo's ego.

"I don't have that kind of money!" Tiger confessed to Lin Kai.

"That's no longer your concern. I'm buying this house," Lin Kai retorted sharply, confronting Tiger.

Seeing Lin Kai's temper flare, Tiger didn't dare retort. After all, Lin Kai was the heir to the Chawam. If he crossed Lin Kai, how could he continue to profit from him?

Tiger, with his companion in tow, made for the exit. The woman, clueless, protested, "Tiger, I had my heart set on this house. Why are we leaving it behind?"

Tiger, without hesitation, slapped her across the face. "Because I said so!"

She clutched her reddening cheek and fled in tears.

Now, only Lin Kai and Zhang Luo remained in the sales office.

Zhang Luo was intent on purchasing this house as a third-anniversary gift for Yang Yuan. The price was merely a detail; he didn't want to squander any more time.

"Sixty million!" Just moments ago, the bid was at twenty million, and now he's upping it by another ten million. Has Zhang Luo lost his mind?

Lin Kai observed the man before him, who appeared utterly unfazed.

A crowd had gathered at the entrance of the sales office. If Lin Kai won the bid but couldn't pay, wouldn't that be a slap in the face to the Lin family?

Lin Kai hesitated, but Zhang Luo seemed completely unbothered, casually taking a cup of water from the dispenser and sipping it leisurely on the sofa.

Lin Kai was sweating profusely.

"Sixty million for the first call."

The manager was already quite pleased, seeing the price soar to double its original value.

"Sixty-five million!" Lin Kai called out after a moment's thought.

Zhang Luo smirked, "Is that all the young master of the Chawam has to offer?"

"Eighty million!"

Lin Kai was in a tight spot. He knew that the maximum overdraft limit on his unfrozen bank card was only eighty million. The rest of his funds were controlled by his father, and he couldn't access them at the moment.

Lin Kai conceded defeat. The manager approached Zhang Luo and said, "Congratulations, sir. You've purchased this villa for eighty million. Is this a full payment or a down payment?"

"Ah!"

Zhang Luo was startled at the question.

Lin Kai smirked, seeing right through him. Clearly, the man had no money and was just posturing.

Now, let's see how you get out of this one. You'll be begging me soon enough! And when that time comes, if you're willing to kowtow three times, I might just help you out.

He had seen many people inflate the price just to enhance the property's perceived value, but he never thought he'd encounter it himself.

"Young Master Lin, why have you stopped bidding? Is the heir of the Chawam not as formidable as I thought? Here, take the full payment!"

It turned out that Zhang Luo's surprise wasn't about winning the bid; it was at how effortlessly he had secured the house!

What? Full payment, eighty million?

The onlookers at the entrance of the sales office were abuzz, pulling out their phones to find out which wealthy individual was challenging the young master of the Chawam. The female manager processed the transaction on the POS machine and announced, "Transaction successful!"

Eighty million yuan vanished in an instant! The female manager handed the bank card to Zhang Luo.

With a smile, Zhang Luo glanced at Lin Kai, slumped on the sofa, then turned on his heel and walked away.
