C15 Awakening Hall
The Awakening Hall was impressively spacious, with enough room to accommodate over a thousand individuals.
The hall was packed with attendees; indeed, there were over a thousand students gathered for the Blue Sky Academy's combat test.
These were students from the counties and middle schools of Cilding, all of whom possessed the bloodline of a Battle Companion. The air was thick with excitement and anxiety, as the awakening ritual was imminent. The quality of one's awakened Battle Companion could be the deciding factor in becoming a distinguished Fighter.
"Students, please settle down," a voice commanded. "Firstly, congratulations to each of you for being among the select few. Today, we embark on the first phase of the combat test—the Battle Companion awakening ritual. I will be overseeing this ritual. My name is Lee Chang'an, and I serve as the director at Blue Sky Academy. You may also refer to me as Mr. Lee."
Suddenly, a middle-aged man in a black suit ascended the stage with a grave demeanor.
The previously bustling Awakening Hall fell silent in an instant. Every student was rapt, their eyes fixed on the figure addressing them from the stage, eager not to miss any crucial information.
Mr. Lee, noting the hush that had settled over the students, cleared his throat and projected his voice: "The combat test is split into two parts. The first is the Battle Companion awakening ritual. Those who successfully awaken their Battle Companion may proceed to the second part of the exam. However, students who awaken an advanced Battle Companion will be directly placed into Class A, bypassing the second part of the exam."
At this revelation, the Awakening Hall erupted into a buzz of conversation, with students eagerly speculating and discussing.
Some were optimistic, convinced they would awaken an advanced Battle Companion, while the majority were on tenterhooks, dreading the possibility of awakening a low-level Battle Companion—or worse, failing to awaken one at all.
"Ruyu, what exactly is an advanced Battle Companion? Aren't all newly awakened Battle Companions considered young spirits? Is there really a distinction between advanced and low-level?" Feng Yixiu, clearly puzzled, turned to Shen Ruyu for clarification.
Shen Ruyu paused to consider before responding, "The Battle Companion Alliance categorizes young spirits into advanced, intermediate, and low-level based on their potential for development. A Battle Companion with strong potential is naturally classified as advanced. To my knowledge, there are three distinct tiers."
"So, what exactly is this Class A?" Feng Yixiu was still somewhat puzzled.
"I'm not quite sure myself..." Shen Ruyu admitted, equally baffled.
After all, she wasn't from Cilding and wasn't well-versed in Blue Sky Academy's class division system.
Her knowledge about Battle Companions was limited to what she had gleaned from reading books on the subject, but she only had a superficial understanding.
Just then, a tall man next to Feng Yixiu interjected, "Blue Sky Academy categorizes all students into four levels based on their Battle Companions' potential. Class A is, of course, the most elite among these. The school prioritizes Class A when distributing resources, meaning they receive the lion's share. The further down the classes you go, the fewer resources you get."
"Oh, I see," Feng Yixiu said, nodding thoughtfully. Realizing that it wasn't Shen Ruyu who had answered him, he turned to the tall man beside him, surprised. Smiling, he extended his right hand and said graciously, "Thank you for explaining. My name is Feng Yixiu, from Tidrith."
The tall man paused, taken aback for a moment, before reaching out his own hand with a smile. "Hello, I'm Han Xiao, from Beijing."
