"What the heck? Just one evolutionary path?" Feng Yixiu scrutinized his battle spirit's data several times, only to confirm, without exception, that there was indeed just a single route for evolution.

In all his experiences with battle spirits, he had never encountered one with this peculiar limitation. Even the earth system spirit turtle that had recently reached the growth stage boasted over a dozen paths to evolve, and that was considered minimal. Some had the luxury of choosing from dozens.

Yet, his own thunder type Serpent Spirit was an anomaly. Upon reaching the growth stage, it was restricted to a singular evolutionary path, destined to become a Jade Serpent.

Feng Yixiu hastily reviewed his evolution tree and found it starkly simplistic compared to the intricate networks of others. His was akin to a "lone commander," with a solitary main branch and not a single offshoot.

Despite this, he found solace in the fact that this lone path led to the esteemed title of Supreme Spirit.

While observing the awakening of other battle spirits, he had deployed his "Divine Pet Evolution System" to dissect their evolutionary prospects. Among them, a mere three held the potential to ascend to Supreme Spirit status.

Two of those belonged to him and Han Xiao's Infant Spirits, while the third was a light type Elemental Infant Spirit—a rare, incorporeal being akin to natural elements, capable of freely evolving into a light system battle spirit during its growth stage.

The individual with this unique spirit was fast-tracked to Class A, bypassing the second assessment and immediately appointed as the class leader.

"Hahaha... That nearly gave me a heart attack!" Feng Yixiu breathed a sigh of relief, his exclamation betraying his initial shock.

For many, the quantity of evolutionary options was crucial, as a battle spirit with a multitude of paths was more likely to be documented and known, allowing future generations to benefit from the groundwork laid by their predecessors.

But for Feng Yixiu, the breadth of evolutionary choices was inconsequential. He was set on pursuing the path of the Holy Spirit. Having only one route to follow actually saved him the hassle of decision-making.

The teacher responsible for the awakening misinterpreted Feng Yixiu's laughter as a sign of distress, perhaps thinking the young man had become unhinged from disappointment, and offered words of comfort.

Feng Yixiu paused, realizing his outburst might have been misconstrued, and chuckled, "I'm not being overly pessimistic; I'm just overjoyed."
