C5 Shining Light
Upon hearing their conversation, the teacher-in-charge had wanted to butt in and call the other one out, but he decided to stay back. Instead, he simply watched from afar as he waited for the other student to step up onto the platform.
Who was he to judge any student in this classroom? After all, the pearl in his palm was the only way he could know whether or not the people lining up on his platform were worthy enough to take the exam. It wasn't a wise choice to offend anyone in the process.
"I don't know about pigs flying, but you might." Feng Yixiu didn't look the slightest bit intimidated as he leaned against the wall. "Since you're so confident that I don't possess the battle spirit bloodline, why don't we make a bet?"
Lee Kaiyuan was so outraged that he bit back a laugh. The loser wanted to make a bet with him? "Fine! If you don't have the battle spirit bloodline, then you'll have to take off your clothes and run ten laps around the field. You'll also have to wear a plate around your neck that says 'I am trash'. You think you can manage that?"
"Hm, but I don't think that's exciting enough." Feigning bored, he tilted his head. "Why don't we had another two thousand yuan into that bid? Just to make things more interesting. What do you say?"
What did he just say? Lee Kaiyuan blinked a couple of times, trying to see through him. He thought that the bet was good enough, but he didn't expect Feng Yixiu to wager something more.
Why was he so confident? Could it be that–
Impossible! Lee Kaiyuan immediately shook his head, ridding himself of all his anxious thoughts. That wouldn't happen, right? It can't be that–
"What's wrong, Class President Li? Are you really that scared of Feng?"
Just as he was hesitating, Shen Ruyu snorted with disdain.
That was enough to knock his hesitation off the curb. "Do you think I'm afraid of this piece of trash? I'll let you see how superior I am compared to this son of a bitch," he snapped, before turning to the other boy. "If you want to gamble, so be it! Let's see who'll be running out of this classroom two thousand yuan richer."
Faced with his crush's mockery, he immediately agreed to the bet.
"It's a deal!"
Feng Yixiu rolled up his sleeves and stepped onto the podium. Without another word from the teacher, he stretched out his arms and prepared to take the Spirit Summoning Pearl from his hands.
At that time, the sky had already darkened, and the natural light they had in the classroom was growing dimmer and dimmer. With the crowd surrounding the three students, the shadows that loomed over them became even greater.
The students from other classrooms had already surrounded the classroom, wanting to see what all the ruckus was about. Many of them have already finished their test, so they wanted to see who else possess the bloodline.
However, as soon as they saw Feng Yixiu step onto the platform, they couldn't help but burst into snickers. "Do you think Feng Yixiu's brain got fried by the light? Does he really think he has the bloodline?"
"The kid grew up in the orphanage," the other one whispered, snorting. "If the pearl was even alive, I'd bet it would chuck him right out of the classroom for even touching it. He wouldn't have a single chance at winning."
"Well, s'not like he didn't deserve it." The other student crossed his arms. "He already had a peaceful life coming, but instead of taking that, he insisted on irritating the Class President himself. Who does he think he is?"
It seemed that their drama had reached the entire student population.
Feng Yixiu took one deep breath and placed his hands on the Spirit Summoning Pearl. "Divine Pet Evolution System," he whispered under his breath. "You better not be screwing with me."
However, despite his countless whispers, the transparent glass remained as it was–transparent. Even as three seconds had passed, there still wasn't any reaction from the pearl, not even a sparkle of light.
"Guess you lost–"
Before Lee Kaiyuan could finish his sentence, the originally dull pearl suddenly emitted a blinding light. It brightened the entire classroom, completely blinding the students from its majestic display.
