C6 A Flicker of Light

Feng Yixiu stared at the bright pearl in his hands. Adrenaline thrummed in his veins, and he released a sigh of relief. It seemed that the system still hasn't fooled him yet. It was real.

The wide streams of light escaping from the pearl danced across the room as if they were all attending a light festival. Even if they were approaching dusk, it was as if they were greeted by the sun. During those times, they all experienced a time of brightness.

And it was the most beautiful thing he had ever witnessed.

Everyone in the room gasped. Even the students who were standing outside the classroom couldn't help but gape at the magnificence of the pearl. Was this the true beauty of those with the battle spirit bloodline?

Everyone took a deep breath.

While the brightness of the sunlight didn't represent the talent of the War Spiritualists, they still signified the purity and strength of the bloodline. At the thought, everyone still couldn't get over their surprise.

"How is this possible?" Lee Kaiyuan stared at the piercing light. He didn't care if his eyes were pulsing in pain or that his hands were practically shaking from the heat. All he could think of was the student holding the pearl. How the hell was this loser able to wield that bright light?

"Student Feng, enough! You've already proven yourself, now let go. I can't even open my eyes anymore."

Even the homeroom teacher was squinting his eyes from the illuminating pearl.

Only then did Feng Yixiu finally let go of the pearl. He glanced at Lee Kaiyuan as a glint shone in his eyes. While he didn't say anything, his expression spoke for itself. Guess the strong class president had fallen into the hands of the class loser.

Even then, Lee Kaiyuan still wasn't convinced. "It's impossible, the pearl must be broken!"

He scrambled up onto the platform and placed his hands on the pearl. Immediately, the transparent surface started to emit yellow light. It flickered across the ceiling, looking like a broken disco ball.

It was a weak flicker of light compared to the one they had just seen. It couldn't even reach the back of the classroom, and it even flickered the minute its light had reached the ceilings.

The surrounding students weren't even the slightest bit impressed. Even the boys in the classroom looked indifferent as if wanting the Class President to just stop embarrassing himself.

As if noticing their silence, Lee Kaiyuan took his hands off the Spirit Summoning Pearl, looking as if he had just been electrocuted. His face turned beet red as he looked the other way.

Seeing that more and more people were gathering around his classroom, the teacher immediately called it quits. "I don't care what conflicts exist between the two of you, all right?" he snapped. "It may almost be the end of our time here, but you're all still my students until I walk right out of the classroom. Don't make things difficult for me!"

The two boys nodded and kept their mouths shut throughout the class. However, Feng Yixiu wasn't planning on letting Lee Kiayuan off his tail anytime soon. After all, two thousand yuan was a huge sum of money for him.

"It's getting late," the teacher called out. "Everyone who wants to participate in the examination, take the ball from my hands now."

Now that the situation was under control, the homeroom teacher organized a line of students and began another round of inspection.

This time, the teacher was much faster. He'd place the pearl on the student's hands for ten seconds. When there wasn't a reaction, he'd immediately switch to the next student, not paying any heed to the other complaints.

However, as time had gone by, no one had gotten the slightest bit of reaction from the Spirit Summoning Pearl.

"So we only have two outstanding students hm," the teacher murmured to himself. "Guess I'm being too greedy if I'm asking for more than that."

Besides, it was already a miracle that he had gotten two students who possess the battle spirit bloodline.

The onlookers were already losing their patience. "Can't this go any faster?" they murmured amongst themselves as they repeatedly glanced out the window. The sky was getting even darker, and they were already looking forward to getting some dinner.

"Yu, haven't you gotten tested yet? Why don't you give it a try?"

Seeing that Shen Ruyu hadn't said anything throughout the test, he nudged her.
