C58 It Really Is a Grandmaster
Tu Yun was still in the dark about Su Xun'er's advancement to Primary Martial Disciple status. He figured Yang Qi was, at best, on the same level.
The staff member was taken aback. As just an employee of the Martial Artist organization, he was in no position to provoke either party.
"Sir, may I inquire... are you ready to test your combat strength now?"
"Let's go."
Yang Qi responded with his usual calm, unfazed demeanor.
At his word, the staff member led Yang Qi to the Strength Testing Hall, with Su Xun'er trailing behind.
Tu Yun remained rooted to the spot, a look of utter contempt on his face.
"Once you get that badge, we'll see if you're still considered a Super Student!"
At the Linhai Base's Hundred Dojos, only the Best Students were recognized, and a Super Student was unheard of. Tu Yun, brimming with pride, believed that without being more than a Primary Martial Disciple, Yang Qi had no right to the title of Super Student.
The staff member escorted Yang Qi and Su Xun'er to a Strength Testing Instrument.
"Sir, please proceed with your combat strength test."
He spoke with deference.
Yang Qi approached the instrument and clenched his fist.
Both Su Xun'er and the staff member watched with bated breath, eyes wide with anticipation, eager to gauge Yang Qi's true power.
Yang Qi inhaled deeply and then unleashed a powerful punch onto the instrument.
Bang...
150,000 combat strength!
Impossible!
Su Xun'er and the staff member were utterly astounded.
150,000... combat strength?!
That was the realm of a Primary Grandmaster.
Yang Qi... could he truly be a Grandmaster?!
Su Xun'er's eyes were wide as saucers, her mind reeling with the revelation.
The staff member was frozen in place, struggling to grasp the reality before him.
This was the power of a Primary Grandmaster!
Had a formidable Grandmaster just casually revealed himself?
"I'm off to the Black Tiger Martial School to confront and defeat Lin Tianzheng, the school's Master."
Yang Qi revealed his intentions to Su Xun'er outside the Thunder Snake Martial School's Master's Room.
However, Su Xun'er remained skeptical. She was convinced that Yang Qi was just pulling her leg.
It wasn't until the combat strength displayed on the Testing Instrument forced her to accept the truth.
The staff member was frozen in shock, his face etched with terror, as though he had witnessed the impossible.
"Take me to get my badge," Yang Qi instructed.
At his words, the staff member snapped out of his daze.
He couldn't afford to show any disrespect; after all...
Grandmasters don't need a reason to act!
Without hesitation, the staff member led Yang Qi to claim his badge.
As Yang Qi and Su Xun'er exited the Power Testing Hall, Tu Yun was still rooted to the spot. Noticing them leave, he let out a scornful laugh directed at the pair.
He was aware that Yang Qi was off to collect his badge.
Soon, he would find out exactly which badge Yang Qi had earned.
In the badge room, the staff member's hands shook as he handed over the One-star Deceased Bull badge to Yang Qi.
Yang Qi accepted the badge and nonchalantly slipped it into his pocket before he and Su Xun'er left the room.
Once outside, the staff member mulled over the revelation of a new Grandmaster at the Linhai Base, knowing he must report this to his superiors.
Tu Yun, seeing them emerge without a badge on Yang Qi's chest, couldn't resist a mocking sneer.
"Super Student, where's your badge?"
Yang Qi had no interest in engaging with Tu Yun's haughty demeanor.
"Tu Yun, you're in the presence of a Grandmaster!" Su Xun'er fixed her gaze on him. "You should know better than to insult a Grandmaster, shouldn't you?"
