C14 Yun Man's Senior
After the Four King Kongs became zombies, they still sported their vividly colored hair, which Ye Lee found quite displeasing.
With the Steel Chopping Blade drawn from the System Space, Ye Lee deftly transformed the Four King Kongs into baldies.
"Host, you've named the zombies and earned a Super Treasure Chest. Would you like to open it now?" the system inquired.
"Open it."
"You've gained 25 Genome Points, 25 Strength Points, 25 Speed Points, and 25 Defense Points."
"Host, congratulations on achieving the status of a Fourth Level Awakened."
Ye Lee felt a sense of satisfaction. He had assumed he'd need to wait until tomorrow and the opening of the Zombie Treasure Box to reach the Fourth Level Awakened.
"Senior, I've got a first rank zombie. How could I forget?" Yun Man murmured to herself.
She took a deep, secretive breath of relief and wiped the sweat from her brow. Without Ye Lee, she would have been at a loss.
Then, her communication table buzzed once more.
Upon answering, Yun Man was greeted by a virtual display. Instead of the previously beautiful woman, a strikingly handsome young man now appeared on the screen.
"Yun Man, we've arrived. Come on down," he said.
"Okay, Senior Chen Yun."
She hung up, her heart swelling with happiness.
Turning to Ye Lee, she announced, "Senior, my master has come for me. I need to go."
"Go ahead."
Ye Lee gestured dismissively. He had only needed Yun Man as a guide. Now that he was in the Eastern Region, her return to An'nan Base City was actually convenient for him.
"Senior, what about you?" Yun Man asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Just remember, you and I have no connection. Where I go is none of your concern," Ye Lee replied calmly.
Yun Man felt a twinge of loneliness at his words; she had only meant to inquire.
"Senior, I'll go meet my master now. If destiny wills it, we shall meet again."
With those words, Yun Man left the room. Glancing back just before she closed the door, she saw Ye Lee's attention fixed on the Four King Kongs.
Yun Man stepped out, her mood somber.
Ye Lee continued to watch the Four King Kongs, wondering if they still possessed their unique abilities.
He inspected the zombies and realized there were no male zombies suitable for merging with the Four King Kongs.
Without dwelling on it, he stored Ah Da and the Four King Kongs in the System Space.
Ye Lee was ready to move on, intent on finding more zombies to merge with.
Then, Yun Man's cries pierced the air.
Ye Lee dashed towards the sound. He had no ties to Yun Man, but he couldn't bear to let her come to harm.
Soon enough, he found Yun Man encircled by a horde of twenty zombies.
As a Seventh Level Awakened, Yun Man was significantly stronger than the zombies.
But since witnessing her classmates devoured by zombies in the Eastern Region, she had been too terrified to fight back.
"Yun Man, don't be scared. I've got you," he called out.
A new voice reached Ye Lee's ears.
Turning towards it, he saw a young man rushing to Yun Man's side.
Handsome and appearing a year or two older than Yun Man, Ye Lee recognized the youth from the virtual display on the communication table.
"Another advanced awakened," Ye Lee noted quietly.
The gap between an advanced awakened and a First Grade Evolved Human was vast, yet an advanced awakened could handle these zombies with ease.
It wasn't long before the young man had dispatched all twenty zombies.
"Yun Man, are you okay?" he asked, his concern evident.
"Senior Chen Yun, what about my master?" Yun Man inquired, still visibly shaken.
"Miss Meilin encountered a Guardian from the White Lotus Cult; she told me to find you first."
Ye Lee narrowed his eyes. "A Guardian from the White Lotus Cult?"
Could it be the Guardian Scorpion mentioned by the Four King Kongs?
The White Lotus Cult was a nefarious sect that rose after the Zombie Virus outbreak, though it didn't seem particularly formidable.
Intrigued, Ye Lee decided to delve further into the matter.
