C9 I'm Not Afraid of Zombies

Ye Lee was a little bit doubtful. He thought Yun Man was one of the people from An'nan Base City. 'But, why is she here?'

"We came here to this Copper City for experience," Yun Man explained when she noticed Ye Lee's dubious expression.

After she finished her words, she lowered her head.

"Experience?"

Ye Lee now understood the whole situation. It's no wonder he couldn't find zombies on the streets when he was in the hospital; the zombies were undoubtedly lured in by these awakened people.

"How many people did you bring to this city for this experiential learning?" Ye Lee asked again.

"A total of more than twenty people, but we didn't expect to see so many zombies in the Eastern Region. Five of us ran out. I don't know how they are doing."

Yun Man still had a trace of fear on her face, as if she couldn't believe what she had just gone through.

"They are all dead; not even a single bone remains."

"What?"

Hearing Ye Lee's words, Yun Man's eyes widened, and her face turned deadly pale.

The people who died were all her classmates. This time, they secretly came to the Copper City to gain experience because the academy's teachers did not allow them to go.

Right now, she was extremely regretful in her heart. If she could go back in time, she would try to stop her classmates from sneaking out to this Copper City.

"Hey, don't be in a daze! You would have ended up like them if you hadn't met me," Ye Lee said slowly, looking at the girl who had suddenly become silent.

Suddenly, a realization came to his mind. He looked at Yun Man and said,

"Did you just say that there are a lot of zombies in the Eastern Region?"

"Yes, Senior."

Yun Man was a little confused. She didn't understand why Ye Lee asked such a question.

Ye Lee's face lit up with a smile after getting the confirmation. His only concern right now was that he wouldn't be able to find many zombies.

"Then lead the way. Let's go to Eastern Region."

Yun Man was shocked to death when she heard Ye Lee's words. She felt as though her soul had left her body for a split second.

"Senior, you… You want to go to Eastern Region?"

She felt as if she had just misheard. She had just experienced what it was like to walk on the thin line between life and death in the Eastern Region. She wouldn't dare to go there again.

"Yes, I want to go to Eastern Region." Ye Lee nodded, assuring Yun Man that what she had heard was correct.

"But senior, there are too many zombies in the Eastern Region."

After all, as someone who had been through a horrible situation in the Eastern Region, she didn't want the other person to go down the same road she had. She wanted Ye Lee to give up on his idea of going to the Eastern Region.

"I'm not afraid of zombies," Ye Lee said nonchalantly.

When Yun Man saw Ye Lee's determined look, she realized that no words could convince him to change his mind. On the other hand, she did not want to go back to the Eastern Region as someone who had just escaped from there.

But then panic struck her as she remembered how many students had died in the Eastern Region. 'How should I explain it if I go back to the An'nan Academy?'

She was in a dilemma now!

"What? Don't you want to lead the way for me?" Ye Lee asked, his eyes fixed on the unresponsive girl.

Yun Man was shocked. "That's not it, senior. I am just…"

"I'm just hungry and thirsty. I don't have any strength left in me."

Yun Man couldn't help but say so because she wanted Ye Lee to understand the difficulties one had to face in the Eastern Region and changed his mind. But she didn't lie either; she was starving and thirsty right now.

"Eat these."

As he said, Ye Lee took out a box of food from the System Space.

He then opened the food box, which was filled with bread and milk inside.

Yun Man's eyes widened in surprise when she saw bread and milk.

She didn't know how Ye Lee did it, but she was sure he didn't have that food box merely a moment before.

However, Yun Man couldn't care so much because she was already hungry and thirsty after sprinting from the Eastern Region all the way to here.

She picked up the bread and milk and began to eat and drink.

"Really delicious!"

Ye Lee smiled as he looked at the girl who was shoving food down her throat. In this city, which was occupied by zombies, it was not easy to eat bread and milk.

"Now, can you take me to the Eastern Region?"

Ye Lee looked at Yun Man and said as if he was seeking payback for the meal he had provided.

Yun Man was so focused on filling her stomach that she completely forgot about it. She had no choice but to agree now that she had eaten the other party's food.

"Fine, let's go." Yun Man nodded.

Then, Yun Man and Ye Lee started to walk towards the Eastern Region.
