C10 Zhang Tia Was Shocked and Furious

Woo Zhengyang was tossed out of the mirror with a jolt, landing in a curled-up position. Compared to when he entered, he now looked utterly disheveled. His outer garment was nowhere to be seen, and his undershirt did little to cover the bruises forming from countless punches.

"That old guy really played dirty!" Woo Zhengyang muttered, feeling sore all over and cursing the burly man under his breath.

After refusing the man's terms, Woo Zhengyang had been subjected to another round of relentless punches. Having learned from their last encounter, the man didn't give Woo Zhengyang any chance to fight back. Only after landing over a hundred punches did he pause, claiming he was tired, and resumed negotiations with Woo Zhengyang.

In the end, Woo Zhengyang agreed to the man's second condition: to do everything in his power to change the Profound Heaven Sect back to its original name. Only then did the man open the light curtain and toss Woo Zhengyang out of the mirror.

"How am I supposed to go out like this?" Woo Zhengyang wondered, looking at his tattered state.

Scanning the area, he noticed eight stone chambers lined up behind the mirror. With no other choice, he headed toward them. The last two rooms were empty, five had their stone doors tightly shut with no visible way to open them from the outside, leaving only the first room open. Woo Zhengyang stepped inside...

Upon entering, Woo Zhengyang realized that this room was the gateway corresponding to the first level of the Mirror of Inquiry. Inside, the wardrobe compartments were neatly filled with several sets of gray clothing. Each set had the words "Profound Heaven" intricately embroidered on the left chest, marking them as the signature attire of the outer disciples of the Profound Heaven Sect. The clothes were stacked in pairs, with a black badge placed on top.

Examining the heavy black iron badge labeled "Number One" in his hand, Zhengyang picked up another badge from the stack of clothes to compare. Although they looked similar, there was a significant difference between them. The "Number One" badge lacked the refined design of the other badge but carried an undeniable weight and significance. The other badge, while also made of fine steel, couldn't compare to the gravitas of the "Number One" badge.

Recalling what the burly man had mentioned, Zhengyang understood that the black iron "Number One" badge was anything but ordinary. Of course, Zhengyang had no intention of flaunting it. Beyond its value as a top-grade weapon, the significance of being "Number One" could spark unnecessary conflicts, something Zhengyang wanted to avoid.

After some thought, Zhengyang donned a set of the clothes, picked up an extra set for a change, and grabbed a badge before heading out...

In the main hall, Zhang Tia sat cross-legged, focusing on his breathing and refining his energy.

"Thud... thud..."

Heavy footsteps echoed, growing louder as they approached from the back of the hall.

"What's going on? No one should be back there," Zhang Tia muttered, opening his eyes in confusion. He turned to look behind him and was shocked, as if he'd seen a ghost in broad daylight.

"Woo Zhengyang..."

Zhang Tia nearly shouted in disbelief.

Woo Zhengyang glanced at Zhang Tia, uninterested in responding, and continued walking heavily toward the exit. The weight of the Number One Token was burdensome, and if not for his recent training, even walking might have been awkward.

"Stop right there... How can you be walking out?" Zhang Tia demanded, leaping up to block Woo Zhengyang's path.

"I passed the test, so naturally, I came out," Woo Zhengyang replied, forced to halt.

"Passed the test? How could you have passed? You haven't even activated your Origin Genuine Qi! What trick did you use?"

"Whether I'm a failure or not isn't for you to decide. Since I'm here, it means I passed. Do you have a problem with that, Zhang Tia? I need to report to the outer hall. Maybe we'll meet again," Woo Zhengyang said, sidestepping Zhang Tia and exiting the hall.

Woo Zhengyang's attitude had changed drastically, yet his words were flawless, leaving Zhang Tia speechless for a long time. It wasn't until Woo Zhengyang had left that Zhang Tia realized what had happened.

"What’s up with that kid today? It’s like he’s a different person. Something’s definitely going on, and I need to find out what!"

Before long, Zhang Tia arrived at Woo Zhengyang's cave. A fresh, metallic scent hit him, and he noticed some dried bloodstains on the ground near the entrance.

Peering into the cave, Zhang Tia frowned and asked sternly, "What's with the blood? Where did Yue Liqing and Liu Tiancheng go?"

"Sir, the blood is Yue Liqing’s. He was severely injured and passed out, so Liu Tiancheng took him to find his brother," a nervous disciple replied.

Hearing this, Zhang Tia was both shocked and furious, almost growling, "Yue Liqing was seriously injured? Who did it?"

"Woo Zhengyang!"

"No way!"

Hearing that name again, Zhang Tia's first thought was that he misheard. But he quickly snapped back, gritting his teeth as he continued, "Tell me... what happened!"

Zhang Tia was already known to be quite intimidating, and his anger now made him even more terrifying. The disciple, trembling with fear and worried about being blamed, stammered as he recounted the events bit by bit.

"Alright! Very good! Woo Zhengyang, I really underestimated you!" Zhang Tia was shocked by Woo Zhengyang's transformation after hearing the whole story, but more than anything, he was furious.

You see, even though Yue Liqing was just a servant disciple, his background was quite prestigious. In Zhang Tia's eyes, having the chance to meet Yue Liqing during his duty was a golden opportunity. If he could take good care of Yue Liqing, maybe Yue would put in a good word for him with Elder Yue, potentially landing him a great position and a chance to enter the inner circle.

As the year drew to a close, Zhang Tia hadn't expected a hiccup in the final month, especially one caused by Woo Zhengyang, the guy he always thought he had wrapped around his finger.

At this moment, Zhang Tia was so angry he could almost eat Woo Zhengyang alive. But as a mere steward, he couldn't go too far, even if Woo was just a servant disciple. If word got out, it wouldn't be the end of him, but his future prospects would certainly dim.

Moreover, now that Woo Zhengyang had become an outer disciple, Zhang Tia had to tread carefully. Still, if he didn't do something to appease Yue Liqing, all his efforts throughout the year would be in vain, and he might even face backlash.

"This kid couldn't have just awakened his Origin Genuine Qi out of nowhere. He must have done something shady. Hmph! Once I find out, he'll regret it!" With that thought, Zhang Tia stormed out of the cave.
