Light and shadow flashed. The enormous power within the vortex twisted and melted the three shadows, as if they had been steamed into a ball of faint, nine colored light.

The nine colored stream of light floated about, wandering aimlessly in the darkness, like a candle flame in a storm, swaying so gently that it could be extinguished at any time.
