C18 Ye Yun Subdued the Divine Beast!

Ye Yun paid no mind to the jeers of his fellow disciples. To him, they were inconsequential.

The more they underestimated him, the more determined he became to show them his true capabilities.

So, Ye Yun bid farewell to Leng Wuyan. Whispering into her ear, he implored, "Please, let me go. I can't keep relying on your protection to survive here."

Leng Wuyan was inwardly hesitant to let Ye Yun face the danger, yet she couldn't afford to lose face before the disciples.

She was well aware of Ye Yun's abilities. His cultivation had reached the Origin Opening Stage, but facing that creature alone could be a death sentence.

The disciples were egging Ye Yun on to confront the creature solo, leaving Leng Wuyan flustered and overwhelmed.

"Sect Master, you should consent. This is an opportunity for Ye Yun to demonstrate his strength," Lan Zheng suggested.

"Indeed, I need to prove myself, but not to you. I aim to show the Sect Master that I am worthy of her," Ye Yun declared, gazing at Leng Wuyan with eyes brimming with earnestness.

Leng Wuyan gave a nod of approval.

Secretly, she had resolved that if Ye Yun encountered any danger, she would rescue him; she could not bear the thought of becoming a widow.

Besides, a month hadn't even passed yet.

Leng Wuyan also hoped to quell the ongoing chatter among the disciples.

After parting ways with Leng Wuyan, Ye Yun set off for the Back Mountain alone.

As soon as he stepped out of the Asura Palace, a wave of anxiety washed over Leng Wuyan.

Meanwhile, some disciples, particularly those loyal to Faang Qingzhuo, were quietly celebrating. They relished the thought of effortlessly banishing Ye Yun and potentially ending his life.

En route to the Back Mountain, the system interface sprang to life.

"Host, analysis underway. There is indeed a mystical creature in the Back Mountain, and it appears to have been released intentionally."

"You can deduce that?" Ye Yun asked in surprise.

"Host, proceed with caution. This creature is a venerable Divine Beast. Should you tame it, it will surely become a formidable Magic Pet."

Ye Yun pondered, "How can I tame this Divine Beast? Do you possess a divine artifact?"

"Host, you're only at the Origin Opening Stage. Taming this Divine Beast might prove quite challenging," came the reply.

"An Ancient Divine Beast? I'm curious to see just how formidable it is," Ye Yun mused to himself.

Strolling leisurely through a small valley, Ye Yun was captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the Back Mountain. The valley was awash with vast swathes of peach blossoms, cascading in layers from the base to the summit of the mountain, transforming the entire valley into a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

The river's surface was dotted with petals, and as it meandered past an ancient bridge and a wooden house, it seemed to carry the essence of spring itself.

Ye Yun was utterly mesmerized by the stunning vista before him.

"This is truly a hidden utopia!" he exclaimed. "How perfect it would be to spend a lifetime here with my wife."

In that moment, Ye Yun had entirely forgotten his original quest to capture the Divine Beast, lost in the enchantment of the scenery.

A sudden rustle from the bushes snapped him out of his reverie.

"What was that?" Ye Yun leaned forward, peering into the grass, but all was still once more.

Thinking he might have been mistaken, Ye Yun resumed his search for the mythical Divine Beast. He imagined it to be a colossal creature with boundless strength, not something that would be lurking in the tranquil expanse of grass before him.

Yet, before long, the noise returned, growing louder and more distinct. Now, Ye Yun wasn't so certain that a Divine Beast wasn't present.

He scanned his surroundings, but all was quiet; no sign of any creature stirred.

Despite several attempts at guessing and searching, Ye Yun came up empty-handed.

He pressed on, and once again, the sound echoed through the air. This time, it irked him.

What was happening?

Impatiently, Ye Yun thrust his sword at a pile of pebbles nearby.

In a flash, the stones erupted into the air before scattering across the grass.

"Meow." Out of nowhere, a creature resembling a cat sprang from a hole in the thicket.

This so-called monster boasted a spherical head topped with sharp, pointed ears. Its oversized green eyes glowed like emerald lanterns. Its black and white fur gave it the appearance of a cotton ball speckled with ink. Six rigid, steel-like white whiskers flanked its mouth, gauging the hole's dimensions with precision. Its lengthy tail swished back and forth like a miniature whip.

Yet, this was no monster—it was an adorable kitten!

Ye Yun was instantly smitten with the little feline.

"It's absolutely adorable! I'll gift it to Leng Wuyan as a pet. She's bound to adore it! There's nothing out of the ordinary here, just a charming little cat! It seems the mission's difficulty was greatly overestimated," Ye Yun mused aloud as he extended his hand to caress the kitten before him.

However, the kitten turned aggressive in a heartbeat.

Before Ye Yun could even process what was happening, his arm was viciously clawed, blood gushing from the wounds.

"Damn it! I meant no harm, so why the hostility? Is it possibly a feral cat?" Ye Yun grumbled to himself.

In the blink of an eye, the endearing kitten morphed into a colossal beast.

Its new form was a stark contrast to its previous one!

Its teeth were now razor-sharp and elongated, its fur had darkened to a blackish gray, and its eyes shone with a chilling blue-green hue.

The creature's tail had split into two such appendages, and its cry had turned piercing.

"Its name is Cat Bebe."

Ye Yun communicated telepathically with the system, "Cat Bebe? That's a decent name."

"Be cautious, though. Its attack strength is formidable. Don't provoke it."

"Got it," Ye Yun replied through thought. "It was quite endearing earlier. How can I tame it?"

"Do you remember the True Samadhi Fire you acquired before? Now's the time to put it to use."

Ye Yun pondered, "Should I use the True Samadhi Fire to incinerate it? But if it perishes, I won't be able to tame it. What's my next move?"

The system fell silent, leaving Ye Yun alone to confront Cat Bebe.

Ye Yun stood his ground before the immense Cat Bebe, showing no sign of backing down.

He was determined to tame the creature, confident in his ability to do so.

Once he had Cat Bebe under his control, Ye Yun intended to uncover who was responsible for setting it free.
