C20 Ye Yun Couldn't Defeat Cat Bebe so He Actually Ran Away!

Ye Yun was filled with trepidation. In a mere instant, Cat Bebe lunged at him again.

The transformation of Cat Bebe into a colossal beast left everyone frozen in shock.

The beast's presence was overwhelmingly terrifying, far surpassing the intimidation of any ordinary Demonic Beast.

Its mere presence was enough to send shivers down the spines of the onlooking disciples.

The path to the Back Mountain was littered with the destruction it had wrought.

Shock filled Ye Yun's eyes as he whispered to himself incredulously, "That explains why those disciples were eager to watch me become the butt of the joke."

Panic rippled through the crowd. They had only heard tales but had never witnessed such a gargantuan creature.

"Ye Yun, watch out!" a few well-meaning disciples yelled out to him.

"Thanks!" Ye Yun called back, expressing his gratitude to the benevolent disciples.

Yet, he could only catch a glimpse of their retreating figures, as they were quickly ushered away by others.

Cat Bebe had surrendered to its primal instincts, its reason eclipsed by wildness.

The beast was dangerously close to Ye Yun, poised to strike.

In that critical moment, the sword gifted to him by Leng Wuyan propelled him into the air.

Ye Yun was momentarily frozen, searching for a viable strategy, ideally one that would exploit Cat Bebe's vulnerability.

He racked his brain for a solution, which inadvertently allowed Cat Bebe to close in on him.

Despite the disdain from others and Leng Wuyan's lack of faith, Ye Yun, hailing from another world, was confident in his ability to conquer Cat Bebe.

Struck by a sudden inspiration, a soft purple glow emerged in his pupils seconds later.

With a swift leap, Ye Yun mounted Cat Bebe, drawing the Immortal Binding Rope and whispering an incantation.

The rope unfurled, ensnaring Cat Bebe.

The once ferocious beast jolted as if frozen in time.

But it was a fleeting moment; within seconds, Cat Bebe writhed, attempting to escape the clutches of the Immortal Binding Rope.

Sensing the dire turn of events, Ye Yun quickly resumed his chanting.

The more Cat Bebe fought, the tighter the Immortal Binding Rope constricted.

Seeing Cat Bebe gradually cease its struggle, Ye Yun breathed a sigh of relief and dropped his guard.

Seizing the moment, Cat Bebe roared with all its might, breaking free from the Immortal Binding Rope.

In a blur of motion, it leaped forward and delivered a stinging slap to Ye Yun.

Cat Bebe's strike sent Ye Yun flying, much to the amusement of some disciples who began to mock him.

It was clear now why they had been so eager to witness his embarrassment; they had known all along that this creature was extraordinary. Too cowardly and fearful to confront it themselves, they had pushed Ye Yun into the fray.

Even without their goading, Ye Yun would have willingly taken on the challenge, driven by his desire to lighten Leng Wuyan's burdens.

"Look at the state he's in. Do you think he can get back up?" Faang Qingzhuo couldn't help but sneer at Ye Yun's predicament.

Ye Yun clenched his jaw, his mind racing to the three Vajra Flames the system had granted him.

"You dare to harm me, and I'll make sure your fur is singed."

He needed to check with the system once more about using the Vajra Flame.

The system's voice echoed in his mind, "Host, you may seek assistance!"

"How should I go about asking for help?" inquired Ye Yun.

"I can grant you the opportunity to mentally call upon Leng Wuyan for aid," the system offered.

"Are you joking?" Ye Yun retorted.

The system was suggesting he gamble and lose? Unthinkable.

A man who forfeits his dignity before the woman he loves is no man at all.

Thus, Ye Yun would never request aid from the Great Empress, no matter the circumstance.

But if the system was offering a reward, he would take it.

With that thought, Ye Yun bellowed, "What's there to fear?"

"Water!"

"Do you have any water?" he asked.

"No."

Ye Yun was at a loss for words.

"Guess I'll have to figure this out on my own." Squinting, he mentally mapped out the Devil Cult's terrain.

Before him lay the mountain gate, with the Asura Palace beyond.

To his left were the disciples' quarters, and to his right, their training grounds.

Ye Yun paused to think and then it hit him – there was a small river on the path to the Back Mountain. Water!

He smacked his thigh, chiding himself for not realizing it sooner, and an idea quickly formed in his mind.

"Ye Yun, there's no need to play the hero. Conceding now isn't a sign of weakness. We can talk about the punishment later," Leng Wuyan urged, her voice carrying a hint of seriousness. She hoped Ye Yun would stop trying to tame Cat Bebe.

When Ye Yun heard Leng Wuyan's voice, he glanced around, but no one was speaking. That's when he remembered the system's mention of Telepathy.

"Sweetheart, are you concerned about me?" Ye Yun used the Telepathy provided by the system to respond to Leng Wuyan.

Despite her words, Ye Yun remained full of confidence.

"What are you babbling about? I just don't want you to meet your end on our very first day as a married couple," Leng Wuyan's cool voice echoed in his ear once more.

"My love, I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you. Rest assured, I'm not going to die, and you won't even get the chance to remarry."

Leng Wuyan was left speechless.

"Just wait a bit longer, honey. I'll have that Divine Beast subdued in no time. Tonight, I'm claiming the bed," Ye Yun declared, leaving Leng Wuyan blushing.

After a standoff with Cat Bebe, Ye Yun saw his opportunity. He feigned defeat, retreating strategically before circling behind Cat Bebe and darting to the left.

Cat Bebe took the bait and pursued Ye Yun's path. However, after a few steps, it sensed something was off and halted.

Ye Yun stopped, beckoning Cat Bebe with a taunting gesture, "Come on, try to catch me."

Cat Bebe, duped and furious, charged after Ye Yun without a backward glance.

"Ye Yun is making a fool of himself!"

"He's the Sect Master's husband, for heaven's sake. Running away like that is a disgrace!"

"I've said it before; he's not fit for the Sect Master."

The disciples who disliked Ye Yun resumed their gossip.

Leng Wuyan couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance.

She had just admonished Ye Yun not to overexert himself, and now he seemed to be fleeing the scene.

But then, something caught her eye.

A knowing smile crept across Leng Wuyan's face as she realized this was all part of Ye Yun's strategy; he hadn't backed down after all.

Meanwhile, as Ye Yun was drawing Cat Bebe away, it dawned on him how closely the creature resembled the mysterious entity described in the ancient texts.

What could have possibly gone wrong to cause such a being to emerge?

Lost in contemplation, Ye Yun's mind raced for answers.
