C7 Buying a Villa with a Shop!

A knock echoed from outside. Su Yu figured it was likely the waiter with breakfast.

He opened the door to find a strikingly attractive waitress wheeling in a cart.

"Sir, here's your steak," she said. "Plus, we've included a complimentary bottle of mineral water valued at 888 RMB. Enjoy your breakfast at your leisure."

"A bottle of water for 888 RMB? Everything at this hotel is outrageously priced," Su Yu mused.

He winced at the thought of the expense, but it dawned on him that his circumstances had changed.

Now, his primary mission was to spend. The more he spent, the quicker he'd level up.

With this in mind, Su Yu's spirits lifted.

He handed the waitress a generous tip, saying, "This is for you."

She had never seen such a large tip in her career and gazed at Su Yu with pure admiration.

"He's not just handsome, but also lavish with his money. He exudes such an air of distinction. Could he be some wealthy tycoon or even royalty?" she wondered.

But she quickly dismissed the thought; she'd encountered many affluent heirs, yet none as affable and open-handed as Su Yu.

As Su Yu sampled the pricey water, he noticed the waitress's fixed stare.

"Is there something on my face?" he asked, touching his cheek.

Flustered, she blushed, "No, sorry, sir. I'll leave you to your meal."

"Thank you," Su Yu said with a smile that quickened her pulse.

Ignoring the fluttered waitress, Su Yu settled down to savor his meal.

Once done, he pondered his next move. Lingering in hotels wasn't ideal; it was time to buy a house.

With over twenty million yuan post-upgrade, he had enough for a down payment.

Su Yu dressed and set out to house hunt. He visited several properties but found none to his liking. He decided to check out Golden Top Land in the Eastern Area.

Golden Top Land was the city's priciest district, a haven for the wealthy.

Su Yu and Lin Qinghan had once eyed a home here before their wedding.

The astronomical prices had astounded Su Yu. Qinghan adored the homes' designs and decor, but her parents objected, claiming the distance from the Lin family was too great. Su Yu knew the real issue: they deemed him unworthy of their daughter.

He couldn't afford a place here on his own; it would be the Lin family footing the bill, making the marital home a lucrative asset for Su Yu.

Back then, unhappy, he had expressed his dislike for the homes to Qinghan, who was torn between him and her parents' wishes. Now, reflecting on their past struggles, he realized how hard she had tried.

They had shared many joyful moments, but their marriage was over.

Shaking off the memories, Su Yu parked opposite the sales department and headed inside.

He couldn't pinpoint why he'd been dissatisfied with the other houses or why he'd come here. Was it simply to prove a point?

Once, Qinghan's parents had scorned him. Now, he intended to turn the tables.

Amused by the thought, Su Yu chuckled to himself.

Entering the sales department, he caught the attention of the sales ladies in their sleek black suits. Their initial interest faded upon seeing his attire.

After the divorce, Su Yu had left everything to Qinghan. He wore the same outfit from the day before: a worn black hoodie, faded jeans, and canvas shoes – a birthday gift from Qinghan during their college days.

His casual appearance was out of place in this upscale neighborhood, and especially in a sales department where the real estate was worth a fortune.

It was no wonder the sales staff seemed dismissive.

Then, a fresh-faced young woman approached him. Clearly a newcomer, she seemed inexperienced and blushed even before speaking.

"Sir, are you interested in purchasing a home?" she inquired.

"Yes," Su Yu replied.

"How many will be residing in the home? Could you describe what you're looking for in a house?"

"I'd like to have a look around first."

Su Yu strolled toward the display with his hands clasped behind him, leaving the girl momentarily flustered.

A colleague whispered to her, "Lily, don't waste your time. His clothes are barely worth five hundred yuan."

"Exactly. Don't bother. He can't afford a house."

"I've seen his type before. He's just here for the free tea and the walk. He's not serious about buying."

"That's right. He doesn't make enough in a year to buy even half a square meter of a house."

Su Yu stood before the scale model, his demeanor unflustered by the salespeople's chatter.

These folks were clearly opportunistic, but then again, that was the norm these days, himself included.

People had grown accustomed to judging by appearances, fawning over the wealthy.

He remembered his time with Lin Qinghan, how her lavish spending had once awed him.

Yet, he hadn't expected that she would tell her colleague, "Since he's here, he's our guest. Besides, I'm not busy. I'll show the gentleman around. It's a good chance for me to get to know the ropes."

Su Yu cracked a smile, finding the girl rather amusing.

Just then, the system's voice broke in, "Host, if you purchase the riverside villa for 50 million yuan, you'll be rewarded with a shop."

Su Yu's smile broadened.

He had planned to put down two million yuan for a house.

Now, it looked like he could afford a grand villa outright.

He turned and beckoned to the girl, "Miss, could you come here for a moment?"

"Are you calling me?"

"Yes, you."

Lily hurried over, asking, "Sir, would you like some tea or perhaps some sunflower seeds?"

"I'm interested in purchasing one of the villas here."

Su Yu gestured to the model on the display and inquired, "How much for this villa?"

Lily's eyes went wide.

The salesmen nearby did the same.

"The villa costs 48.88 million yuan. Will you be needing a mortgage?"

Su Yu pulled out his card and replied, "No need. I'll pay in full."

Everyone was dumbfounded. The salespeople scrambled to approach him.

"Sir, allow me to show you the details of the house."

"Sir, right this way. I can assist with the paperwork."

Su Yu pointed at Lily and stated icily, "Step aside. She will handle all the procedures for me."

In that moment, silence fell over the room.
