C10 This Kid Is Pretty Good!!

Wang Faang's face was a picture of bewilderment. Why would anyone not appreciate a compliment?

Had he inadvertently put his foot in his mouth?

Mulling over this, he sneaked a peek at Qin Xiaoliu.

To his dismay, he caught Qin Xiaoliu glaring at him with an ominous look.

Wang Faang's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly scrambled back to his knees.

He began slapping himself across the face, the smacks echoing sharply.

He didn't hold back; his already chubby cheeks swelled even more.

Wang Faang stammered out an apology.

"Sir, I misspoke. Please, don't kill me. Don't kill me."

"I have an elderly parent in their eighties and a young child who depends on me."

"Sir, have mercy. Please don't kill me. I'll do anything you ask, just spare my life."

Qin Xiaoliu watched Wang Faang with a mix of astonishment and confusion, and touched his own face.

Was he truly that fearsome?

Then he felt the dampness on his hand—it was blood from the earlier skirmish.

Well... that did seem quite terrifying.

But Wang Faang was surely overreacting.

"Boss Wang, if only you had been this cooperative from the start. See, I'm just here to settle an account."

"You gave me such an 'enthusiastic' welcome, naturally, I had to respond with equal 'enthusiasm.'"

"In our world, it's all about give and take, right?"

Saying this, he amiably helped Wang Faang to his feet.

Wang Faang stood, shaking, his face a mask of astonishment as he stared at Qin Xiaoliu.

Was this the same merciless fighter from before?

Had he encountered someone with multiple personalities?

With this thought, Wang Faang instinctively stepped back.

"Hey, Boss Wang, what's the matter?"

"It was all a misunderstanding. I'm really not that frightening."

"There's no need to be so scared. Like I said, I'm just here to collect a debt."

Qin Xiaoliu watched Wang Faang retreat, advanced two steps, and with a friendly gesture, draped an arm around his shoulder despite Wang Faang's evident reluctance.

To the uninformed observer, they might mistake them for good brothers joyfully reunited after a long separation.

"So, Boss Wang, I've turned your bathhouse into quite the mess," Qin Xiaoliu said with a grin, as if they were old friends.

"You're not going to make me pay for this, are you?"

Wang Faang, seeing Qin Xiaoliu's sly smile and the blood staining his clothes, thought he looked like a ghost out for revenge. A shiver ran down his spine as he stuttered out a response.

"You're... you're kidding, right?"

"I... How could I... possibly ask you for... for compensation?"

"All that I own is already yours, elder."

"Rest assured."

He then wiped the sweat from his brow, visibly relieved.

"Good, good. That's a relief."

"But the people I injured... they're not going to demand medical compensation from me, are they?" Qin Xiaoliu asked, his anxiety palpable.

He was just a poor guy, after all, and needed to be sure.

"Master, you're surely jesting. We're a legitimate business here; everything's under contract," Wang Faang quickly assured him.

Qin Xiaoliu was dumbfounded.

What in the world?

A gang that's a legal company?

You've got to be kidding me!

Qin Xiaoliu gave Wang Faang a look of disbelief, feeling like he was being played for a fool.

"Boss Wang, you're quite the tycoon, not a penniless chap like me."

As long as I don't have to foot the bill, I couldn't care less about legality.

"Master, you jest. From now on, what's mine is yours."

"Just give me the word if you need anything."

"I, Wang Faang, would brave any danger for you without a second thought," Wang Faang declared with fervor.

Listening to him, Qin Xiaoliu felt a sense of déjà vu.

Right, it sounded like the kind of flattery someone would spout in front of their boss.

Definitely not me, no way!

"Boss Wang, you're too much."

"Let's talk business. You owe me a million, and it's time to pay up," Qin Xiaoliu said, fixing Wang Faang with a piercing gaze.

Wang Faang met his stare and felt a cold shiver down his back.

"Of course, I'll get it to you immediately. Right this second."

"I'll have someone bring the cash over right away, sir."

"We should wait in the office. This place is beneath us."

"It's not befitting of your stature, Master."

Qin Xiaoliu couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at Wang Faang's sycophantic compliments.

Damn, businessmen sure have a way with words!

But he couldn't shake the feeling that Wang Faang might still have something up his sleeve.

With a hint of suspicion, Qin Xiaoliu probed,

"Boss Wang, you wouldn't happen to have a hitman waiting in your office, would you?"

"Planning to chop me up the moment I walk in?"

Hearing this, Wang Faang nearly burst into tears from fear.

"Master, you're the boss! I wouldn't dare!"

Wang Faang was genuinely petrified, his face the picture of innocence.

As if to say, "Do I look like a fool to you? Why would I set a trap for you? That'd be like asking for a death wish!"

"It's just a joke, just a joke. Don't take it to heart. You go ahead and lead the way."

Qin Xiaoliu could see that Wang Faang was genuinely terrified and unlikely to try any funny business.

He figured that whatever might come his way, he could handle it with ease.

With that in mind, he confidently followed behind Wang Faang.

Wang Faang kept glancing back at Qin Xiaoliu, worried about any unexpected moves.

Their journey to the office was fraught with Wang Faang's anxiety, but they finally made it.

Upon entering, Wang Faang nearly buckled under his own weight.

The trek from the lobby to the office was a mere three hundred meters, yet he felt as though he had exhausted all his energy.

Qin Xiaoliu eyed Wang Faang with a mix of curiosity and disdain.

Clearly, the man had overindulged himself to the point of exhaustion from a mere few hundred meters' walk.

As he pondered, he absentmindedly rubbed his lower back.

Thankfully, he was the picture of health. His decade-plus stint as an old bachelor wasn't for nothing!

If Wang Faang could hear Qin Xiaoliu's thoughts, he'd be livid.

You're the one who's overdoing it with the pleasures, I'm the guy who goes seven rounds a night, and you accuse me of excess?

You've scared me, that's what you've done!

"Come, sir, take a seat."

"I'll brew you some tea."

Wang Faang guided Qin Xiaoliu to the seat of honor with utmost respect.

He then hurried off to prepare the tea.

Soon after, Wang Faang returned, carefully holding a cup of tea with both hands.

He offered it to Qin Xiaoliu with reverence.

"Sir, please try this. It's the Tie Guanyin I purchased recently."

"I'm no tea connoisseur myself. I hope you enjoy it."

Qin Xiaoliu accepted the cup and took a sip.

Not bad at all, definitely Tie Guanyin.

He might not have the means to buy such tea, but he had been in Lih Qingcheng's company long enough.

You may not have seen pork, but you've seen pigs run, as the saying goes.

"You claim not to know tea, yet you splurge on such fine leaves."

"The wealthy sure know how to live it up."

Qin Xiaoliu said, giving Wang Faang an approving thumbs-up.

Impressive, truly impressive, beyond the reach of a poor guy like me!

"Hehe, you're too kind, sir."

"I bought it purely for the sake of appearances. Sir, if you enjoy it, I have two more cans. Please, take them with you when you leave."

Wang Faang said, slightly embarrassed.

"How could I possibly accept that? A true gentleman doesn't covet what others enjoy."

Qin Xiaoliu's face showed reluctance, but inwardly, he was beaming with delight!

Wang Faang was really playing his part well.
