C23 Underground Fighter

Before Su Bai could grasp the situation, he found himself encircled by a horde of demonic beasts.

"What in the world is going on?"

Having successfully shifted the focus to Su Bai, the black-robed figure made a swift exit, vanishing into thin air.

"Hey, where did that black-robed guy go?"

"Damn it, he's actually bolted!"

The toad demon fixed his gaze on Su Bai.

Well, if the black-robed man was gone, that was fine. Capturing this kid and delivering him to his uncle might yield even greater rewards.

Plus, the fox demon accompanying the lad was exceptionally alluring.

Despite Su Xiaoman being cloaked in an oversized robe, the toad demon, a connoisseur of many women, could see that she was indeed a gem not often found.

Now that his attention was on Su Bai, the toad demon and his cronies were practically inseparable from Su Bai's shadow.

Su Bai was seriously annoyed.

What kind of mess was this?

He had just managed to dodge the wolf king's chase, only to tumble into another predicament.

A quick thought and Su Bai realized it had to be the work of the dog demon.

It looked like the dog demon had pinned the wolf demon's demise on him.

After piecing together the probable cause, Su Bai's view of the dog king shifted dramatically.

He had been thankful for the dog king's intervention, which had saved him, but now, due to the dog king's frame-up, he had made an even more formidable enemy.

Glancing back at the persistent group tailing him, Su Bai was at a loss for what to do next.

Leaving the valley was out of the question; he'd be swarmed in no time.

"Forget it, I might as well lay low here for a bit! That seems to be my only option right now."

The immediate issue to tackle was money.

He needed funds to afford a stay at an inn.

Gold was the universal currency among humans and demonic beasts, but he had nothing to trade. He possessed a flying sword and a handful of spirit stones, but Su Bai had no intention of selling them.

And even if he were willing to part with them, who would dare to purchase items from someone who had crossed a Peak Master?

Su Bai hadn't anticipated that money would be a concern in this world too.

"It looks like no matter where you are, you're stuck without money!"

After letting out a brief sigh, Su Bai continued on his way. A short distance ahead, a gleaming sign caught his eye.

"Underground Fight Club!"

With a sly grin, Su Bai figured out a way to earn some cash. He followed the directions on the sign down a sloping passageway that led underground to a brightly lit fight club.

The club was alive with excitement, filled with shouts and cheers.

"Kill him!"

"Kill him!"

"Get up!"

"Don't back down!"

Su Bai circled the ring, then found a spot to observe, stroking his chin as he watched the two demonic beasts battle it out on stage. A tiger demon and a dog demon were locked in combat, biting into each other with a ferocity that was shockingly bloody.

It brought back memories for Su Bai of a dogfight he had once seen at the entrance of a marketplace in his past life. The dogs, placed within an enclosure of iron bars, tore at each other without a care for their torn ears, noses, and mouths. Their only goal was to bring about the other's demise.

The two demonic beasts in the ring were no different. Blood was everywhere, and even with ears bitten off, neither would concede defeat.

Xiaoman, watching the gruesome scene, felt uneasy and instinctively clutched Su Bai's arm. Xiaomu, on the other hand, watched with eyes gleaming, thoroughly engrossed.

After the match, Su Bai didn't hesitate to approach the counter and sign up for the underground boxing. Once the price was agreed upon and he had his number, he took a seat among the fighters, waiting for his turn.

The toad demon trailing behind Su Bai whispered something to the person at the counter, and before long, Su Bai was chosen.

"The next fight, number seven versus number thirteen!"

Su Bai, holding the number thirteen card, gave a knowing glance to the smug toad demon before getting up and heading to the stage.

The rules of underground boxing were simple. No skills were allowed; only fists, claws, and teeth could be used. And the fight would go on until one party surrendered.

Su Bai was up against a formidable bear demon. The bear was a hulking brute, making Su Bai look frail by comparison. But of course, that was only because Su Bai hadn't shown his true strength yet.

If Su Bai transformed into a Three-legged Golden Toad, he'd match the big black bear in size.

In a head-to-head match of strength, this big black bear was merely a level two demonic beast. Su Bai, as a Three-legged Golden Toad, could take it down with a single bite.

Upon reaching the arena, they steadied themselves as the iron gate slowly closed behind them.

The match officially commenced.

The big black bear, with its chest hanging low, lumbered toward Su Bai, shaking its hefty frame. It swung its massive fist, comparable to an electric rice cooker, at Su Bai's head.

The crowd below was wide-eyed with excitement, eager to witness Su Bai's head burst open from the bear's powerful blow.

The big black bear, a notorious giant in the underground boxing scene, was known not just for its immense size but also for its brutality and bloodlust.

Every appearance by the big black bear was a visual spectacle that thrilled the audience.

The bear, noticing Su Bai didn't dodge, grinned with an almost human-like malice. Its fist was known to shatter stone. If it connected with the young man's skull, it would likely burst on impact.

The big black bear envisioned a gruesome scene of blood and brain matter splattering before it.

It would then stand in the arena, watching the aftermath unfold like a dazzling display of fireworks.

"Thud!"

A dull sound echoed.

Su Bai stopped the big black bear's punch with just one finger.

Yes, a single golden finger!

"Damn!"

The big black bear was taken aback.

It hastily backed away, fixating on Su Bai's golden finger, and bellowed, "This kid's cheating! He's using a skill!"

The referees at the edge of the stage conferred in hushed tones before shaking their heads in unison, declaring, "We detected no demonic energy fluctuations. The match will proceed."

The big black bear's expression collapsed.

It realized it had hit an iron wall today.

Baring its teeth in determination, the bear once again tightened its fist and launched another punch at Su Bai.

One finger.

Still just one finger, Su Bai blocked the big black bear's fist.

If the first block was dismissed by the spectators as an illusion, this time they saw it with absolute clarity.

Someone had indeed used a single finger to stop the punch of the fearsome Tyrant Black Bear!

"You've hit me twice; now it's my turn!" Su Bai declared, his fists clenched as he charged at the big black bear. The audience watched with bated breath, their eyes wide with anticipation, eager to witness the full force of Su Bai's punch as it neared contact with the bear's body.
