C11 Dogs Look down on People

The only restaurant in the Hall of Martial Arts was located between the outer and inner court.

The area that the restaurant occupied was not small. It was around three to four thousand square meters and had a total of five floors. Each floor represented a different class of customers.

The first, second, and third floors were used to serve outer disciples, inner disciples, and the ordinary elders. The fourth and fifth floors were exclusive to high-level elders and their direct disciples.

From such a distribution, the worth of direct disciples was quite apparent.

After Xiang Shaoyun defeated Gou Zai and the others, he ran over to this restaurant.

Xiang Shaoyun went up to the host and shouted, "Listen carefully. One jar of wine, three catties of meat, four bowls of rice, and five side dishes. Remember this and bring it post-haste! This young master is starving!" (E/N:- One catty is 0.6 kilogram.)

The host smiled and said, "Just order to your heart's contained, and a waiter will bring it to you."

Xiang Shaoyun found a seat in the spacious restaurant and sat down.

The restaurant wasn't all that crowded as it wasn't time for dinner yet. Due to the lack of customers, the order came quickly.

"Sir, please enjoy!" The waiter said as he put down the dishes.

Xiang Shaoyun didn't have the time to care about the waiter. He immediately started wolfing down his food.

The scene was something straight out of a manhua panel. He was eating at such a speed that clouds formed around his bowls; only afterimages of him could be seen around the bowls.

Soon he was done with his four bowls of rice, side dishes, and three catties of meat.

Then, he took the jar of wine and flushed all the remanents down his throat. An unprecedented feeling of pleasure rose from every corner of his mind.

"Ah, that hit's the spot!!" Xiang Shaoyun couldn't help but exclaim.

It was the first time since his birth that he had felt this hungry. He wasn't this famished even when he escaped to the Dark Town.

Xiang Shaoyun couldn't help but reminisce over the luxuries of the past. Back then, he used to consume only the finest of delicacies and drinks. Even the lowest of which was ten times better than what he just devoured. Moreover, since he loved to eat ambrosia, he would always share them with his servants. So, even his servents of old ate better food than what he was getting right now.

Far away from that life, Xiang Shaoyun could finally appreciate how important food was for low-level cultivators.

Now he was aware that every grain of rice had to be earned through hard work.

"From now on, I, Xiang Shaoyun, will cherish everything before me. I won't lead an ignorant life!" Xiang Shaoyun thought in his heart.

Was today a good day? Xiang Shaoyun believed that it was. Because today, he earned what is called the wisdom of the world.

"Who is this kid? Reincarnation of a hungry ghost or something? Damn, he eats fast!" Someone on the table not far away couldn't help but ask when he saw Xiang Shaoyun's speed of eating.

"This kid looks unfamiliar. Are hungry outer sect disciples talking this place as an alternate canteen?" The person at the same table mocked.

"Haha, that's a possibility. This sort of thing happens quite often! If it really is like this, then this brat is going to suffer!" The person who spoke first laughed.

"That's true. Look at how much he ate. If he couldn't pay the price for such a huge meal, he would have to stay here and wash the dishes for months. Although this month does not have a lot of days left, it would still be a chore." Another person replied.

Judging from their attire, one could draw that they were inner sect disciples. Their conversation was by no means hushed, and the ridicule in it was plain as day.

Even though Xiang Shoyun's name reverberated in the Hall of Martial Arts yesterday, not everyone knew him.

Why? You sure have some dumb questions. Many reasons, actually. Some disciples were out, some were in closed-door cultivation, some were masturba... Umm, I meant dual cultivation.

So, yeah. Had the group known about Xiang Shaoyun, they wouldn't have mocked him.

Xiang Shaoyun heard everything with uncanny clarity, but he did not take their words to heart. He finished the wine and called the waiter over to settle the bill.

"A total of ten points have been spent. Can you please show us your jade token so that we can settle the account?" the waiter was polite, but the contempt in his eyes wasn't.

Just like the previous group, this waiter also thought that Xiang Shaoyun will renege on the bill.

Xiang Shaoyun saw the waiter's expression and slammed the jade token in one fluid motion.

Bam!

"Take it!" Xiang Shaoyun revealed a hint of pride.

Every cultivator must grow a backbone if they wanted to walk on this path. A backbone wasn't just a part of their vertebrae, but it was also something on which their pride grew.

This was one of the lessons that Xiang Shaoyun's father taught him.

The waiter did not expect Xiang Shaoyun to take out the jade token. He picked it up, looked at it, and exclaimed, "T-this is the jade token issued by the Hall of Limits."

"So what? Is that a problem? " Xiang Shaoyun asked.

"N-no, there's no problem! Any jade token issued by the Hall of Limits can enjoy a forty percent discount at this restaurant! Your bill is no longer ten points; you only need to pay six points." The waiter's attitude took a 180-degree turn, and he revealed a respectful expression.

Any disciple capable of breaking through their limits would have a bright future for sure. Disciples like these weren't someone a mere waiter could offend.

"There's such a good deal? Not bad!" Xiang Shaoyun said with a faint smile.

After the waiter took the jade token and deducted the points, he respectfully returned it to Xiang Shaoyun. "Please keep it, Young Master."

The change from guest to young master was instant.

Xiang Shaoyun chuckled and said, "It's never good to judge a book by its cover. After all, no one has dominion over the future. Anything can happen in the next thirty years."

"Yes, yes!" The waiter nodded repeatedly.

When the inner disciples who were not far away heard Xiang Shaoyun's words, they felt a subtle sense of shame as if it was directed towards them.

Among them, the inner disciple who mocked Xiang Shoyun first stood up, pointed at him, and shouted, "A mere sixth grade Martial Entering Stage brat is actually preaching us. Do you no longer want to become an inner sect disciple?"

Xiang Shaoyun looked back at the inner disciple and said, "Who the hell are you to decide my future?"

"I am Wang Yang!" The inner disciple replied with arrogance dripping from his voice.

Why was Wang Yang so arrogant? Apart from foolishness, he was also a student who came in the top 50. Top 50 strongest inner disciples, that was.

Based on his inner court disciple status alone, he could stop a majority of outer disciples from ever entering the inner court.

One had to understand, there was a massive chasm between inner disciples and outer disciples. Every inner court disciple was proficient in condensing qi.

It was easy for any inner sect disciple to target an outer disciple, not to mention a famous inner disciple!.

It was already dinner time, so a lot of new customers were eating at the restaurant. When they heard that an inner sect disciple was targeting an outer disciple, they couldn't help but eavesdrop. After all, who wants to miss mid-dinner entertainment?

"Wang Yang?" Xiang Shaoyun was stunned for a moment.

"Hmph, afraid now? If you know what's good for you, come over here, apologize, and give me all of your points!" Wang Yang said with a smug look on his face.

However, before he could even finish, he heard Xiang Shaoyun's murmur, "Hmm... Wang Yang? Never heard of him."

Somehow, Xiang Shaoyun's tone came out a bit provocative. And would you look at that, Wang Yang was feeling humiliated. All it took to humiliate a toughened inner sect disciple was a whisper.

Wang Yang, an inner sect disciple in the top 50, was humiliated by an outer sect disciple. Again, somehow, in some mysterious, inexplicable, obscure way, Wang Yang felt like it was a slap to his face. (E/N:- Gotta control myself! This sarcasm keeps on leaking in the chapter.)
