C19 Beginning of the Decisive Battle

All Xiang Shaoyun can do was feast his eyes upon the numerous weapons before his eyes. He was lacking the points to buy even a single one of them. A mere inferior-grade weapon was more than 200 points; he only had 100 points. Clearly, not enough.

Even if one considered his 20% discount for owning a jade token, they would find that he was... dirt poor, indeed.

Let alone purchasing a weapon, he couldn't even purchase a meal at the restaurant with his current points.

"No matter what, I'm gonna buy a weapon. If push came to shove, I would just challenge the second room of the Hall of Limits." In the end, Xiang Shaoyun still planned to spend all his points to buy weapons.

Xiang Shaoyun looked at the weapon section for a while before his gaze fell on a blade.

Nirvana Cleaving Blade. An inferior-grade weapon weighing around 280 pounds and was the heaviest weapon amongst all inferior-grade weapons.

"Kid, this heavy sword is stained with a small amount of black iron. It is a pity that the black iron is of low quality, or else it would have been an intermediate-grade weapon. Nevertheless, its weight isn't something that just anybody can handle." An elder for the Hall of Weapons introduced the blade to him.

A saber weighing around 300 ponds could be lifted up by a third-grade martial artist. However, for smooth and swift usage, one needed constant practice with the blade. With the arm strength and durability of a third-grade cultivator, uniform training was an impossible task.

Beginner cultivators never used a weapon that weighed more than 200 pounds.

"Elder is wise. It might be unsuitable for normal cultivators, but it's the weapon for me." Xiang Shaoyun replied.

"Since you're so confident, give it a try! This elder will give you a 10% discount if you succeed," said the elder while raising his brows.

"10% discount? Adding that to the 20% from the jade token, I would get a total of 30%. With a 30% discount, I could buy this weapon." Xiang Shaoyun said happily.

If it was only a 20% discount, Xiang Shaoyun would still be short of a dozen points, but if this elder gave him an extra 10% discount, he would have enough points. Moreover, he could even use the remaining points for a nice meal at the restaurant.

"Brat, you actually have a Hall of Limits jade token? Why didn't you say so earlier! This is a loss!" The elder lamented.

"How can I lose! How is that a loss? The restaurant gave me a 60% discount, but the Hall of Elixirs and Hall of Weapons only give me a 20% discount." Xiang Shaoyun was still unhappy.

"What do you know? Those dishes can be prepared at any time, but the herbs and weapons are not so readily available. You don't know that even the direct disciples only get a 20% discount," rebuffed the elder.

Xiang Shaoyun smiled. Without saying anything, he lifted the blade, placed it on his shoulders, and just left.

This heavy sword was just a temporary weapon for him. Once his strength improved, this inferior-grade blade would become useless.

Xiang Shaoyun then went to the restaurant and exchanged all the leftover points for food. He was preparing to go into seclusion for a few days to train his blade technique, which could be regarded as preparation before the fight with Wu Mingliang.

He had obtained five first-grade combat skills from the outer court's Hall of Combat Skills, and one of them was called the Heaven Slaying Art; this art was tailor-made for heavy swords. This was also one of the reasons why he chose this sword.

It was like this art was modeled after this very sword.

The important part of the Heaven Slaying Art lay in the word [Heaven Slaying]. Only a heavy sword could perfectly display this Heaven Slaying Art.

In Xiang Shaoyun's mind, the pattern of the Heaven Slaying Art kept flashing. The several patterns combined into a string and became more vivid as if a swordsman was brandishing a blade and firing a stream of light.

Xiang Shaoyun started practicing the sword according to the slaying technique.

Xiang Shaoyun had an advantage over others in comprehending combat skills. As he slashed out, it was as the patterns were being engraved on his mind and muscles.

Just like that, Xiang Shaoyun stayed shut-in his yard for four days.

The day for the battle between Xiang Shaoyun and Wu Mingliang had finally arrived.

Hundreds of outer court disciples had already gathered before the outer court arena, and each and every one of them was excited as they waited for the decisive battle to begin.

One of them was a pseudo inner court disciple who was also in the top four of the outer court. His fighting strength was at the top of the entire Martial Entering Stage, and the other was just a genius with a five star talent.

No one would bet that the latter would win.

"Look, isn't that Senior Brother Mo Wuhui? He actually came? Practically nobody has seen him since the day of the examination!" Someone at the scene exclaimed.

In a corner was a handsome youth carrying a sword. He was much taller than his peers. Standing there, he stood out like a crane among a flock of chickens. His pair of indifferent eyes gave others a feeling that he wouldn't care even if the sky fell down.

This young man was Mo Buhui, the second-ranked Martial Entering Stage cultivator in the entire outer court. It was confirmed that he was already a nominal disciple for one of the various elders.

Standing next to him was a woman with otherworldly looks. She wore a set of floral attire, and the colorful spots on her dress made her look as dazzling as a flower.

She was Mei Lianhua, ranked third among all outer court disciples.

"Even Senior Mei is here. It seems like they all want to see what's so special about Xiang Shaoyun."

"That's right, Wu Mingliang is not their opponent. They definitely did not come for him."

"..."

"Senior apprentice-brother Mo, is this match really worth our attention?" Mei Lianhua asked as she tousled the hair on her forehead, her tone quite proud.

"I just want to see what's so special about a five star talent. He actually dares to challenge Wu Mingliang, who's in the ninth grade of Martial Entering Stage?" Mo Wuji indifferently replied.

"Even with his talent, he could only rise by one grade in such a short amount of time. Unless Elder Purple Lightning Marquis used elixirs to raise his cultivation by multiple grades, he'll lose this battle!" Mei Lianhua said in a crisp and clear tone.

"Elder Purple Lightning Marquis isn't so stupid. Excess usage of elixirs can stagnate one's growth, and he is well aware of that." He paused for a moment before continuing, "If he could surprise us in this battle, we can let him join our plans."

"What? Wouldn't he just receive free benefits like this!" Mei Lianhua exclaimed.

"There's nothing wrong with that. It would be difficult for us to take everything for ourselves, anyway. Besides, it might not be appropriate for you to join our plan," he said with a trace of remorse.

"Young Master Wu is here!" Following the exclamation, everyone looked in the same direction.

They saw Wu Mingliang leading a few of his henchmen onto the stage.

Wu Mingliang came to the front of the arena and took a step forward. With a proud expression on his face, he looked quite overbearing!

"Xiang Shaoyun, why aren't you coming up here to die!" Wu Mingliang shouted.

His voice was sonorous as it spread to every corner of the outer court!

"If you're in a hurry to be reborn, I'll grant your wish!" A voice replied from a distance.

Xiang Shaoyun slowly walked over, step by step. The wounds on his face had already disappeared. He looked dapper and refined now. His handsome face was already handsome enough, but his distinct hairstyle added charm to it.
