C13 Surprised(2)

Wang Yufei was well aware of the situation. The system he was dealing with was designed to mimic a sect's way of issuing tasks, with similar rules that allowed for delegation of tasks to others. The rewards for these tasks were typically shared equally between the participants.

However, the power to decide now rested solely in Wang Yufei's hands. While he couldn't alter the sect's original mission rules or have Wang Chunran replace Wang Shaofeng in completing a mission, he did have the authority to allocate the mission rewards directly to Wang Chunlan.

With a sigh, Wang Yufei adjusted the task's difficulty once more: "The task acceptor, Wang Chunlan, will be able to complete the mission by simply taking two deep breaths within an hour. The reward remains undisclosed."

Upon reviewing the rewards, Wang Yufei noted that due to the task's original difficulty, Wang Shaofeng's mission had promised a bottle of Body Refining Pills for slaying two eight-star bloodthirsty wolves.

But now that Wang Yufei had modified the task, the reward had been significantly reduced. Despite this, Wang Chunlan stood to gain several Body Refining Pills. Additionally, Wang Yufei had stumbled upon a rather amusing discovery.

For instance, he could now view the top reward for a day's tasks and freely assign it to anyone he chose. For example, Wang Chunlan was sent back to her room to sleep and, as a result, received three spirit stones. This was because the spirit stones were the highest reward for tonight's task. So what was the lowest reward? Surprisingly, it was a nearly expired spirit herb. To rapidly boost his power, one would need to accumulate more mission points and system rewards.

Without hesitation, Wang Yufei issued a mission to Lee Tianhu: "Mission acceptor Lee Tianhu must obtain three cores from a low-level four-star demonic beast within an hour. The reward is undisclosed. Should Lee Tianhu fail to complete the mission within the allotted time, he will be unable to use his talent for a month."

After assigning the mission, Wang Yufei couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. In theory, the three spirit stones should have belonged to Lee Tianhu, given the higher difficulty of his task. However, due to Wang Yufei's manipulation, Lee Tianhu's reward was downgraded to a nearly expired spirit herb.

As the name suggests, the expired herb contained only a minimal amount of spiritual energy. Wang Yufei could easily picture Lee Tianhu, giddy with the completion of his mission, heading to the sect to claim his reward.

Imagine Lee Tianhu's reaction upon discovering the reward was a nearly expired spirit herb. Would he be so upset that he'd spit blood in frustration? Meanwhile, Wang Yufei's attention was drawn to the roof above him, where he detected a fluctuation of spiritual energy in a spot no bigger than the size of a palm.

Feigning rest, Wang Yufei lay on his bed with his eyes closed, all the while mentally reaching out to the system.

"System, can you check what's on the roof causing this spiritual energy fluctuation?" With the system at his disposal, Wang Yufei intended to leverage its full potential.

Wang Yufei knew the importance of seizing the moment and taking action when necessary. It was crucial to keep a firm grip on his own destiny.

"The host may spend one point to unlock the Spying Technique, valid for one week," the system responded. "With just one point, you'll be privy to everything that happens this week."

Wang Yufei felt slightly resigned to the fact that utilizing the system's services required spending his points. However, he wasn't overly concerned.

After all, Wang Yufei could easily earn a steady stream of points by assigning missions to others. Without any hesitation, he spent a point.

A projector materialized on the metal panel before Wang Yufei, revealing the scene on the roof. He observed a palm-sized, ethereal wisp of gas that moved subtly. Despite its ghostly appearance, it bore a striking resemblance to a miniature phoenix.

Wang Yufei didn't have to think twice about the owner of the phoenix talent—it was undoubtedly Lee Tianhu, whom Wang Yufei had previously shamed. It seemed that the despicable woman was using her innate gift to monitor Wang Yufei's every move.

This situation likely had a significant connection to Lee Tianhu. Wang Yufei's hunch was spot on. That afternoon, Lee Tianhu had inexplicably taken on a sect mission to confront Wang Shaofeng.

Wang Shaofeng ultimately fell victim to a stealthy attack by Wang Yufei, leaving him with several broken ribs. Upon his return, Lee Tianhu couldn't shake the feeling that there was something inexplicably odd about the whole situation. He and Zhang Tianmeng arrived at a similar conclusion, though their reasoning diverged.

Zhang Tianmeng speculated that Yufei might be the secret offspring of one of the sect's elders, which would explain the missions that seemed to favor him. Lee Tianhu, on the other hand, was convinced that Yufei had conspired with at least one elder. To uncover the truth, Lee Tianhu turned to his cousin, Li Yaoyao, a girl whose unique talent was that of the phoenix. Her primary strength wasn't in combat but in her extraordinary ability to spy.

Lee Tianhu had Li Yaoyao deploy a miniaturized version of her phoenix talent, positioning it atop the roof of Yufei's residence to observe him. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, as they were no match for the system's oversight. Yufei, aware of the tiny phoenix's presence, remained unconcerned. His metal panel was visible only to him, rendering others' attempts to confront him futile.

Nevertheless, Yufei decided to respond in kind, issuing a challenge to Li Yaoyao. The task he set for her was peculiar: "Li Yaoyao must confess her feelings to Da Fei tomorrow. The reward is undisclosed. Failure to complete the mission will result in a broken duel."

This mission, however, was not without its flaws. Anyone giving it some thought would realize it wasn't sanctioned by the sect, as they had no power to shatter Li Yaoyao's dantian—only an elder could do that. But if Li Yaoyao failed to confess to Da Fei, the system could still shatter her dantian, leaving no trace for the sect to investigate who was behind the mischief—Wang Yufei.
