C3 Reward(1)

"So it's you, the waste of space. This is a fight between Wang Xianglan and me; it's none of your business. Scram! Didn't my cousin already teach you a lesson last time?"

Li Yaoqian's rage boiled over when she realized the sneak attacker was none other than Wang Yufei, whom she considered worthless. She was so angry that she wished she could transform into a monstrous beast and devour Wang Yufei whole.

Yet, Wang Yufei remained unbothered, speaking coolly, "You're just hiding behind your cousin, aren't you? Wonder if he'll even make it back alive?" His tone was devoid of emotion, his gaze upon Li Yaoqian as if she were already a goner.

Wang Xianglan was Wang Yufei's dearest family member, one of the precious few who truly cared for him. He would never stand for anyone harming her. His earlier comment was spurred by the challenging mission he had assigned to Lee Tianhu.

To some powerful warriors, slaying a low-level demon beast was trivial, but Lee Tianhu, still a nine-star warrior, would need more than skill—luck would play its part in his survival.

Li Yaoqian, however, was unconcerned with such details. She was intent on confronting Wang Xianglan, but Wang Yufei was quick to intervene. He wrapped his arms around Li Yaoqian, pleading with feigned innocence.

"Stop fighting! This could turn deadly. The sect's guards will arrive any moment, and unauthorized combat within the sect grounds is punishable."

Despite his words, Wang Yufei managed to wink at his cousin, Wang Xianglan, signaling his true intentions. Wang Xianglan, who had long harbored disdain for Li Yaoqian, needed no further encouragement.

Li Yaoqian had always been a law unto herself within the sect, thanks to her cousin's influence. But what Wang Xianglan found most intolerable was Li Yaoqian's habit of berating Wang Yufei, calling him trash as if it were as necessary as breathing.

Wang Xianglan clenched her small fists and struck Li Yaoqian's rather attractive face. Poor Li Yaoqian wanted to resist and fight back, but she was immobilized by Wang Yufei.

In the past, Yufei wouldn't have been able to restrain Yaoqian, but things had changed. Although Yufei's strength hadn't increased significantly, his chaotic groping had targeted those unspeakable spots on Yaoqian's body.

Within a few exchanges, Yaoqian was defeated, gasping for breath with a flushed face, lying on the ground like a lump of clay, at the mercy of Xianglan's flurry of punches and kicks. Yufei, fearing the situation might escalate, quickly grabbed Xianglan, who was still eager for more, and they dashed towards the back mountain, laughing heartily. Xianglan had forgotten how long it had been since she'd felt so exhilarated.

Many female disciples, watching Yufei's retreat, couldn't help but admire his graceful escape, thinking to themselves, "Wow, even his escape is so dashing."

Upon reaching the back mountain, Xianglan eagerly opened the box. Inside, a pair of boxing gloves lay silently, clearly crafted from special materials, gleaming with golden brilliance, radiating a metallic strength at the slightest touch.

"Brother, this is the gift I prepared for you. Do you like it? With these boxing gloves, you won't be bullied anymore," Yufei said, visibly moved as he looked at the gloves Xianglan presented to him.

Yufei hadn't expected Xianglan to continue caring for him with such attention to detail. Deeply touched, he nevertheless firmly shook his head, declining the offer.

"Little sister, you worked hard to get these gloves, and you still don't have a decent weapon of your own. I can't take this from you. I don't want to be a burden," Yufei said, just as Xianglan pouted in frustration, her expression adorably sullen.

Huffing with indignation, Xianglan tossed the gloves onto the ground, "I don't even want these boxing gloves. They were just a reward for a simple task from the sect. I squashed a cockroach, and they gave me these gloves. But as a girl, I really don't feel comfortable using such a weapon."

Upon realizing that Wang Xianglan was genuinely upset, Wang Yufei held his tongue. He actually agreed with her; it was rare for girls to favor such weapons as boxing gloves, which symbolized the strength and valor typically associated with men.

Wang Xianglan had just completed a mission and received a flame dagger, a delicate weapon she adored. Wang Yufei had resolved to create simple tasks for her whenever he had enough points, as a way to make amends. Picking up the boxing gloves from the ground, he felt their metallic heft.

"So these are boxing gloves, emblems of conquest and courage?" Wang Yufei mused internally. Perhaps with these, he could finally shed his reputation as a failure.

Wang Xianglan tenderly helped Wang Yufei into the gloves, encouraging him, "Brother, show me your boxing skills. Others may underestimate you, but in my eyes, you remain the formidable man with elegant moves."

Her voice wavered with emotion, triggering a rush of memories in Wang Yufei's mind. He recalled the early mornings of his youth, training with Wang Xianglan on the family's back mountain, where he personally taught her every punch.

Since being labeled worthless and cast out by his family, Wang Yufei had intentionally kept his distance from Wang Xianglan, not wanting to be her burden. However, Wang Xianglan, stubborn as ever, clung to him like a persistent adhesive.

She would stealthily visit Wang Yufei's room each month, using her scant spiritual energy to heal his wounded meridians, accelerating his cultivation. As Wang Yufei executed a series of punches, his movements were fierce and lively. Despite his current lackluster combat abilities, Wang Xianglan's hands nearly swelled from her enthusiastic applause.

"Brother, you're truly incredible. It reminds me of our childhood. You promised me that if the opportunity ever arose, you would work hard to crush all those who bullied you beneath your feet."

Wang Yufei turned to look at the young girl. There was a commanding presence in his gaze, as though he could see right into Wang Xianglan's soul. It was the first time Wang Xianglan had witnessed such an intense look in Wang Yufei's eyes, and it nearly knocked her off her feet.

Realizing he had been overly intense and frightened Wang Xianglan, Wang Yufei remembered that she was unaware of his cousin's death. The man before her was from Earth, with a far from ordinary identity – an assassin who had taken countless lives.

This explained the authoritative look in Wang Yufei's eyes just moments before. He quickly helped Wang Xianglan to her feet.

"Little sister, rest assured. I promise you, in less than half a month, I will have transformed completely. I won't just be the trash I was, but a divine being revered by our sect."

Something had changed in Wang Yufei; he now exuded the aura of a formidable warrior, making Wang Xianglan feel as if he were a stranger to her.

"And little sister, you must stop sneaking into my room to heal my wounds with your spiritual energy. You're grown now, and if word gets out, it could ruin your prospects for marriage." While Wang Xianglan was still processing everything, Wang Yufei had already drifted away.
