C9 Choice

Everyone was speculating about Faang Yu's identity, wondering how he had the audacity to tell Zhao Linlin to get lost.

The Zhao family, to which Zhao Linlin belonged, might not be as prominent as the four major families of Diannan City, but it was still considered a top-tier family just below them.

Anyone would normally show some respect to the Zhao family backing Zhao Linlin.

Yet, here was Faang Yu, brazenly telling Zhao Linlin to get lost, catching everyone off guard.

Zhao Linlin's face turned stormy as she confronted Faang Yu. "Kid, do you even realize what you're saying?"

"I told you to get lost. I won't repeat myself a third time. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences..."

Faang Yu's voice was calm, his expression unreadable.

Even Su Ningshang was taken aback by Faang Yu's boldness.

Then, Zhao Linlin burst into a fit of wild laughter. "Well, well! You've got guts, kid. But I, your sister Zhao, I relish gnawing on tough nuts like you!"

She stepped forward, blocking Faang Yu's path, and extended her right foot.

With a sneer, she taunted Faang Yu, "Kneel down and lick the dust off my high heels. Do that, and I'll overlook your disrespect..."

"Smack!"

But Faang Yu swiftly raised his hand and delivered a slap across Zhao Linlin's face.

The sound of the slap reverberated through the hall.

Everyone was taken aback.

The room fell silent as if the air itself had solidified.

Eyes wide, the crowd watched Faang Yu, thinking he must have lost his mind.

The sting of the slap sent a wave of fury through Zhao Linlin. "You scum! How dare you strike me! You're dead!" she screamed, her face contorting with rage.

Su Ningshang looked on in disbelief. "Faang Yu, have you lost your mind? How could you hit her?"

With unruffled composure, Faang Yu replied, "I warned you, if you don't leave, you'll face the consequences. Did you think I was kidding?"

"Security! Where is security? Come take this dog down!" Zhao Linlin bellowed furiously.

Instantly, five security guards charged forward.

Su Ningshang felt her scalp tingle with dread, regretting her decision to bring Faang Yu to the event.

The social gathering had barely started, and Faang Yu had already stirred up significant trouble.

"What's the problem?" At that moment, a voice resonated with everyone.

Heads turned toward the source of the sound.

A dashing young man, dressed in a designer suit, approached Faang Yu and his group with an air of confidence.

Upon recognizing the young man, awe filled the onlookers' eyes as they called out, "Young Master Wang!"

Su Ningshang's face soured at the sight. The young man was none other than Wang Kai.

He was the heir to the Wang family, one of Diannan City's four most influential families.

Known in Diannan as a minor deity, he had turned a twenty million yuan investment into a staggering five hundred million in the stock market within just two years.

He stood out as a prominent figure among the city's younger elite.

The Wang family had recently set their sights on a Su family project, positioning themselves as rivals.

The previous attack on Faang Yu and Su Ningshang by thugs was rumored to be linked to Wang Kai.

Sadly, Su Ningshang lacked any concrete proof.

And the Wang family was not an entity the current Su family could afford to cross.

Wang Kai swept a cold gaze over Faang Yu, Su Ningshang, and Zhao Linlin, inquiring icily, "What's going on?"

Zhao Linlin, seething with rage, confronted Wang Kai and pointed accusingly at Faang Yu, exclaiming, "Young Master Wang, this lowlife! He dared to strike me! You must stand up for me!"

Wang Kai gave a nonchalant nod, barely sparing Faang Yu a glance, as if he considered him no more than a contemptible insect unworthy of his attention.

He then directed his attention to the security guards, "Break their legs and toss them out. Let's not have them disrupt the event..."

His tone was eerily calm, as though he was discussing a trivial matter.

"Yes!" The guards responded in unison, moving toward Faang Yu.

But Su Ningshang stepped in front of Faang Yu, firmly declaring, "Everyone, hold it right there!"

Upon seeing Su Ningshang, the five security guards halted.

With a furrowed brow, Su Ningshang confronted Wang Kai, "Young Master Wang, don't you think you're being a bit too tyrannical? You haven't even gotten to the bottom of the incident, and you're already talking about breaking my subordinate's legs?"

Wang Kai gave Su Ningshang a look of sheer contempt. "Is there a need to clarify? This is my turf, and nobody gets to upset me here—not even a dog like yours. What, has it come to the point where I, Wang Kai, need to consider your feelings before disciplining a dog? The Su family might have some clout, but you're no match for the Wang family. Right or wrong doesn't matter here; only my mood does. Today's a golden opportunity for you. I'm aware your company is aiming to go public, and there are plenty of people here who could help you. You'd better seize it.

"You have two options: break his legs and stay, or take your dog and get out..."

"You!" Su Ningshang's face flushed with rage at Wang Kai's words.

But she was cornered. Wang Kai was right; she had long been striving to take her family's company public. At today's networking event, there were several key figures she needed to impress. The chance was too good to pass up. Su Ningshang had poured so much effort into preparing for the IPO, and she couldn't bear to let it slip away.

Wang Kai, confident he had Su Ningshang over a barrel, smirked. "So, what's it going to be, Su Ningshang? Will you stay, or will you and your dog leave?"

Torn inside, Su Ningshang finally made a tough call, turning to Faang Yu, "We're leaving!"

"What?" The crowd was taken aback by Su Ningshang's decision, their surprise palpable.

They all knew Su Ningshang was here for her company's IPO. A successful listing could net her at least ten billion. Yet, she was prepared to walk away from this invaluable opportunity for the sake of a mere bodyguard—a move that no one saw coming.

Even Faang Yu's eyes betrayed his astonishment; he had fully expected Su Ningshang to abandon him without a second thought.

Wang Kai was visibly irritated. "Su Ningshang, think carefully about what you're doing. Do you realize how rare this opportunity is? Are you truly willing to throw it away for a lowly bodyguard? Do you have any idea how much money you stand to lose?"

With a sense of resignation, Su Ningshang shook her head. "Wang Kai, I'm responsible for Faang Yu's safety; he's under my care. Money can be made again, but how can it ever equate to a person's safety? I must take my leave."

Upon hearing her words, Su Ningshang's opinion of Faang Yu shifted slightly, prompting Faang Yu to decide to lend her his support.

"Let's get out of here, Su Ningshang. I don't get it. All these people trailing behind a fool, thinking this exchange meeting will make them rich? Seriously?" Faang Yu commented with a detached tone.

The crowd was taken aback, and in Wang Kai's eyes, a flash of malice was unmistakable.

"What did you just say, kid?" The crowd's mood turned hostile in an instant.

Faang Yu replied coolly, "I'm saying that Wang Kai is nothing more than a lucky guy who made a bit of cash. He's essentially worthless. Do you honestly believe he can offer you any real benefits?"

Everyone scoffed at Faang Yu's remarks.

"Kid, do you even know who Young Master Wang is? He's a stock market prodigy, a once-in-a-decade talent with a keen and precise vision. And you think you're in a position to critique Young Master Wang?"

"A bodyguard from the sticks, and you think you're something special?"

Wang Kai smirked, his face twisted with mockery as he stared down Faang Yu. "So, kid, you're saying you understand the stock market?"

Faang Yu responded with the same cool detachment, "Understand it? Not quite. But I'm certainly better than you..."

"Presumptuous!"

The crowd found Faang Yu's confidence utterly ridiculous.

Zhao Linlin looked at him with disdain. "Are you out of your mind, kid? Take a good hard look at yourself before you even think of comparing yourself to Young Master Wang. Do you think you're even in the same league?"

Even Su Ningshang couldn't help but wonder if Faang Yu had lost his senses. To her, he was nothing more than a rough-hewn country boy from the borderlands.

He didn't have two cents to rub together in his pocket, so how could a country bumpkin looking to mooch off the Su family possibly understand the stock market?

Yet, Wang Kai just laughed: "Kid, you've got quite the nerve. Looks like I need to show some skill today, or no one will get why they call me the 'Junior Stock God'!"

"How about this—I'll give you a shot. You think you're better than me, right? Let's each pick a stock. We've got half an hour and a hundred million in capital. Whoever earns more wins, and the loser's capital goes to the winner. Deal?"

"Absolutely!" Faang Yu nodded, unfazed.

"Hold on!" At that moment, Zhao Linlin stepped forward: "That's your wager with Young Master Wang. Our issue can't be settled so easily. If you lose, I'll have someone break your legs. You up for that?"

Faang Yu nodded again: "If that's the case, let's unify the stakes. If you win, I'll hand over five hundred million and you can do as you please with me! If I win, I'll break this woman's legs, and Su Ningshang's company goes public without any interference from you. Deal?"

"Done!" Wang Kai agreed instantly.

Everyone was stunned by Faang Yu's declaration, wondering where he got the audacity to make such a high-stakes gamble.

Zhao Linlin, however, just scoffed: "Scum, I don't know what makes you think you're in any position to bargain with us. Five hundred million? You must be dreaming. Not even your lady boss, Su Ningshang, could cough up that much, could she?"
