C13 Hidden Collection
Su Weiwei was taken aback by Soong Fei's grandiose way of describing the act of scaling the wall. Without further ado, she sprinted a few steps, deftly stepping on the unconscious thugs before vaulting upwards.
Climbing the wall was a struggle, especially in high heels. As she teetered on the brink of falling, Soong Fei rushed to her aid.
With a decisive push from her legs, Su Weiwei leapt forward. "Catch me, thank you," she said, her manners impeccable even in such a dire situation.
Soong Fei repositioned himself just in time to brace for Su Weiwei's descent, which came with the force of a mountain bearing down on him.
"Ah!" In an instant, Su Weiwei found herself seated squarely on Soong Fei's face, knocking him flat on the ground, her inner thigh pressed against his cheek.
Chen Le gaped at the spectacle, his mouth agape and eyes nearly popping out of his head.
It was warm, and there was an unusual scent in the air.
A system alert echoed in Soong Fei's mind: "Hidden treasure, collection initiated."
Internally, Soong Fei rolled his eyes at the bizarre method of treasure collection.
Their current position couldn't be more awkward. Su Weiwei and Chen Le were frozen, unsure of what to say.
Fortunately, the collection process required a bit more time.
"Ah, you're assaulting my brother!" Chen Le couldn't resist adding fuel to the fire.
"Collection complete. You have obtained the cultivation secret manual—Nine Revolutions Mysterious Technique. Additional reward: King's Qi," the system announced.
Soong Fei was inwardly thrilled. He was about to begin cultivating his inner qi, which, coupled with his newly acquired external fighting skills, meant he was on the path to becoming a formidable force, as unstoppable as a winged bull soaring to the heavens.
Meanwhile, Su Weiwei's neck and ears flushed red, her heart racing. She quickly got to her feet and, without a word, dashed away.
Chen Le's teasing voice followed her. "Su Weiwei, time to pay up!"
Hearing this, Su Weiwei picked up her pace, disappearing into the distance even faster.
"Ask Soong Fei for it!" Su Weiwei's voice, tinged with panic, floated from a distance.
This time, she was in deep trouble. She had inadvertently collided with Soong Fei, using the inside of her thigh. If those two lowlifes made a big deal out of it, she'd never hear the end of it.
Meanwhile, Soong Fei was still basking in the afterglow of happiness, savoring the soft, warm sensation. "I've been attacked," he grumbled outwardly, though inwardly he was quite pleased with himself. "How could I ever be a victim!"
He was playing innocent after reaping the benefits.
"You owe me for this," Chen Le said bluntly, extending his hand. "Hush money."
"You just watch your brother get pushed around and say nothing?"
Smack!
Soong Fei delivered a slap without a second thought.
"Don't forget, it was me who fought valiantly in the crowd and saved you all."
Unabashed, Chen Le persisted, "Forget the hush money. I don't want it anymore." He gave Soong Fei a sleazy look that sent a shiver down Soong Fei's spine.
He knew this clown too well. That sleazy grin meant he was up to something.
"Why don't you teach me some martial arts?"
Chen Le's gaze was as lecherous as ever. Soong Fei was tempted to...
"Teach you martial arts? That would be a disgrace to our ancestors."
"Just teach me a little!"
"Fine," Soong Fei relented, unable to resist any longer, and nodded in agreement.
Chen Le was over the moon. He slung an arm around Soong Fei's shoulder, and their eyes crinkled with shared mirth.
"That's what being a good brother is all about!"
After splitting up, Chen Le, Soong Fei, and the others made it back to their dorm just in time for the doors to close.
The gang members who had been beaten were now on their feet, helping each other back to Guo Yan's side.
Guo Yan had taken money from two backers, Hee Zheng and Liao Binn, to do just one job.
He had thought he was going to make a killing, but instead, he saw his crew return, each one battered and bruised.
He was on the hook for their medical bills, and after crunching the numbers, he realized he hadn't made a dime—in fact, he was deep in the red. This infuriated him.
"How could so many of you not take down a single person?"
"The guy's got martial arts skills," the underboss explained. "He took us all out in one go."
"How did he manage that?"
The underboss puffed up with pride, "Soong Fei unleashed the 'Azure Dragon Emerges from the Sea' and 'Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms' all at once..."
He lacked fighting prowess, but he was adept at spinning a tale for the boss, making Soong Fei sound like a legendary hero straight out of a Wuxia novel. With no other option, he had to paint Soong Fei in a formidable light to justify their defeat.
After the explanation, Guo Yan reluctantly paid the medical fees and dismissed them with a wave of his hand. "Off you go, get yourselves to a doctor."
Guo Yan was exasperated by the report. As a seasoned streetwise man, he knew they were simply outclassed. Yet, Soong Fei's ability to knock out eight men was not to be taken lightly.
Once everyone had cleared out, he mused, "Looks like brute force won't cut it this time; I'll have to outsmart him." His thoughts were interrupted by his ringing phone.
Seeing Liao Binn's name on the caller ID, an idea sparked in Guo Yan's mind. He answered the phone with composed assurance.
"Mr. Huo, how's my situation looking?"
"He's been dealt with," Guo Yan assured, his voice oozing the confidence of a man who knows his way around the streets. Though he hadn't laid a finger on Soong Fei, he was a master at bluffing his backers. "I'll send the photos over shortly." He was ready.
He sent Liao Binn several photos with faces so battered they were unrecognizable, all dressed in clothes identical to Soong Fei's, but with their features completely obscured.
After reviewing them, Liao Binn expressed his satisfaction. "Good. I'll transfer the balance to you soon."
"No rush on the balance," Guo Yan replied smoothly, seizing the opportunity. "By the way, your brother's still single, right? I think Su Weiwei would be a great match for him. I'd like to introduce her. What do you say?"
"Su Weiwei? No way. How is she a good match for my brother?" Liao Binn interjected quickly.
He might have been dating Su Weiwei, but his eyes were still wandering. In his view, Lee Qian didn't hold a candle to Su Weiwei. He was just biding his time, planning to dump Lee Qian after having his fun, and then put some real effort into wooing Su Weiwei.
But if Guo Yan got his way, Su Weiwei would end up as his sister-in-law. What a mess that would be—him, the little uncle, to his own sister-in-law!
Liao Binn was well aware of his brother's fearsome reputation. Ever since he was a kid, nothing scared him—except his brother. Liao Bilin was a force to be reckoned with, both sly and domineering.
As a kid, Liao Binn had watched his pocket money vanish into his brother's hands. Just thinking about Liao Bilin was enough to cast a long shadow over his heart.
"My brother might not have a girlfriend, but he's never short on female company. You'd best stay out of it."
"With the Su and Hee families joining forces, they've secured a third of Jingjiang City."
