C14 The Absorption

Two mutant wolves calculatedly circled Yang Tian and the mutant hog while the last one rushed into the crowd.

The attributes of the mutant wolf were above average among level-1 creatures, much stronger than the Sulfuric Acid Zerg.

Among the students, only Lee Sikai and Hu Jun could pose a threat to it. Lee Sikai was slightly better, but Hu Jun was scared to the point that his face turned ashen. He didn't even dare to wield the Tang Saber.

"What are you standing there for?"

Lee Sikai frantically shouted at Hu Jun. He wouldn't be able to hold on for long by himself.

"Ugh..."

Hearing Lee Sikai's shout, Hu Jun finally came to his senses.

Flame coated the skin on Hu Jun's arms, with some igniting the Tang Saber. This sudden change momentarily surprised Hu Jun. Looking at the Tang Saber that was emitting a faint flame, he regained some of his confidence.

Since wild beasts were naturally afraid of fire even after mutation, the moment the mutant wolf saw Hu Jun's flaming Tang Saber slashing towards it, it instantly broke away from Lee Sikai.

Though Hu Jun's attack missed as the mutant wild wolf quickly retreated, its eyes revealed traces of fear.

"I'll stall it! You'll be in charge of attacking!"

Lee Sikai also noticed the mutant wild wolf's unusual reaction, so he immediately set up a battle tactic with Hu Jun.

Seeing his own performance, Hu Jun calmed down a lot.

These wild wolves were not as terrifying as he had imagined.

When the flaming Tang Saber pierced through the mutant wolf's stomach, it didn't die immediately.

He added the finishing blow.

This was the second time Lee Sikai had fought with a mutant wolf. With his previous experience, he immediately stabbed the wolf's neck multiple times. Only when its head was cut off did Hu Jun lay down his Tang Saber.

As their battle ended, so did Yang Tian's and the mutant hog's. On the latter's back, there were three claw marks. On the other hand, part of Yang Tian's clothes had been torn but he wasn't injured.

Both Lee Sikai and Hu Jun had a few claw marks on their bodies but their sense of accomplishment overwhelmed their overall injured state of their bodies.

Yang Tian took out three Energy Crystals from the heads of the mutant wild wolves and handed them to Lee Sikai, Hu Jun, and the mutant hog. The Energy Crystals could greatly amplify their strength and speed. Moreover, the absorption of the Energy Crystals could also alleviate their injuries.

"I get one too?" Hu Jun was a little surprised since he never expected Yang Tian to actually give him an Energy Crystal.

Previously, he had seen Lee Sikai absorb an Energy Crystal, but he didn't expect that it would be his turn so soon.

A mutant wolf's Energy Crystals contained the strength and speed attributes. Lee Sikai's special ability was speed, so absorbing the Energy Crystal increased his speed. The mutant hog's strength major would be amplified. Hu Jun was an elemental warrior, so both his strength and speed would increase.

Yang Tian glanced at the other students. Since they didn't attempt to make any move, they had clearly lost their will to fight. If they continued to cower, they would die in the apocalypse sooner or later.

"Let me switch with you! I'll be outside, and you can go in and rest!"

As a teacher, seeing her student injured, Guan Qingxue was the first one to advocate for her. Contrastingly, her words were immediately refuted by Yang Tian.

"How come I can be inside but she can't?"

Guan Qingxue pulled the injured girl behind her in an attempt to protect her.

Yang Tian couldn't help but frown, but he soon regained his composure.

In his previous life, Guan Qingxue had saved Yang Tian several times. When Yang Tian was at his weakest, Guan Qingxue protected him. She held an important position in Yang Tian's heart.

"If you want her to enter, just tell me. You don't have to use yourself as an exchange."

Guan Qingxue was stunned for a moment before she realized what he said. When she saw Yang Tian's cold gaze, she thought it would be difficult to communicate with him, so she didn't make any requests. But now, it seemed that Yang Tian would agree to her requests.

Yang Tian asked Lee Sikai to take out the Energy Crystals from the mutant wolves' heads.

Yang Tian still had two Red-shelled Beetles' energy crystals in his hand. Originally, he wanted to see if any of the other students had the guts to fight with the mutant wolf and if so, he would let him or her absorb the Energy Crystals. Unfortunately, not a single student was courageous enough.
