C3 A Master-recognition Contract

Once the disaster was over, the human population would have shrunk by thirty percent. In just three days after the otherworld invasion, the remaining population would reduce to less than fifty percent.

10:40 PM

11:20 PM

11:59 PM

Yang Tian was amply prepared for the doomsday.

"Boom!"

An earthquake took place in Yang Tian's manor but he didn't panic. Instead, he quickly dashed towards his poultry.

The chicken and ducks' physiques, which had already grown up to half a meter in height, were constantly inflating. The pigs' situation was even more terrifying, reaching a height of two meters, and a pair of sharp fangs had grown from both sides of their noses.

Fortunately, the wounds on their necks were prevalent. Even though they had gotten sturdier, they lacked the might to attack Yang Tian.

Though their mutation was concluded, the earth was still shaking. The pigs collapsed to the ground due to the excessive blood loss, while the poultry was glowering at Yang Tian.

Certainly, he was their first target.

Their attack power lay on their razor-sharp beaks. As long as Yang Tian defended against these beaks, he would be able to exterminate them.

"Crash!"

After the mutation, the ducks not only increased in size, they had also enhanced their intelligence. Swiftly, they surrounded Yang Tian at the center.

Facing the first offensive, Yang Tian erected his shield in front of his chest to defend against the duck's pointed bill. Mercilessly, Yang Tian's free right hand, which wielded the Tang Saber, swiftly cut the duck's head.

"Ding!"

As the other ducks systematically attacked Yang Tian, he chose to defend himself first, instead of fighting back. Having rich experience in the apocalypse, he knew counterattacking was the worst choice.

However, since the attack frequency was unwavering, Yang Tian's hand wielding the shield was getting weary as he began to gradually quiver.

"Goo!"

The situation got more devastating after the pheasant joined the fray.

"I overestimated this body of mine!"

However, it didn't mean that Yang Tian was helpless. He temporarily gave up on the Tang Saber and used both his hands to hold up the shield, waiting for an opportunity to approach the house.

In front of the house, Yang Tian had placed ten machetes.

"I made it!"

Vigilantly, Yang Tian picked up one of the machetes and flung it towards a mutant duck, with a tremendous force strong enough to kill more than one.

With each toss of a machete, a number of the mutant poultry would be killed owing to their large size and how they were densely crammed.

After all the ten machetes were thrown by Yang Tian, only ten of the mutant poultry remained alive; the rest were all killed. He reverted to his original position whilst pulling out his Tang Saber to harvest the remaining mutants.

"Puff."

In a few minutes, Yang Tian had killed the remaining mutant poultry one by one, but at the cost of overdrawing his physical strength. He collapsed out of exhaustion as a result.

"No, I can't rest now! I have to kill the mutant pigs!"

As Yang Tian looked at the pigsty, he concluded that if he didn't kill the mutant pigs in time, they would recover swiftly due to their strong resilience.

Yang Tian lifted the Tang Saber with difficulty as he approached them. Seemingly sentient of their fate, the mutant pigs let out low roars in a bid to scare him away.

"Ridiculous!"

Yang Tian's mouth curled up into a disdainful sneer. These pigs were about to be slaughtered, and yet they still tried to scare him.

Yang Tian slashed at a mutant pig's neck, but he didn't kill it immediately. The fat around its neck saved it from sudden death.

The mutant pig was quite tenacious. It took Yang Tian a lot of slashes to barely kill one.

With seven of them still remaining, they let out low roars of dissatisfaction after witnessing Yang Tian kill one of them, but that didn't stop his determination.

It took Yang Tian three minutes to kill one mutant pig. It would take him a total of 24 minutes to kill all of these eight mutant pigs.

Even though Yang Tian's body could not persist much longer, the willpower that he had honed in the apocalyptic world was resilient. Not to mention 24 minutes, even if Yang Tian had to slash for 240 minutes, he would be able to persevere.

"This is the last one!"

The last mutant pig no longer growled at Yang Tian. Instead, it looked at Yang Tian with a humble expression, as if begging for mercy.

However, in this apocalyptic world, showing mercy to the enemy was no different from suicide. Therefore, Yang Tian's blade was unsympathetic.

Staring at Yang Tian's cold gaze, the mutant pig realized that its begging didn't work.

"Awooo..."

The mutant pig let out a scream as a piece of glowing paper flew out of its forehead.

'What? A master-recognition contract?'

Yang Tian really didn't expect a mutant pig to have a master-recognition contract. In his previous life, as a legendary beast tamer, of course Yang Tian knew what this contract was.

A master-recognition contract made Party B to become Party A's servant. If the servant disobeyed the master's order, the servant would be punished with losing his life. And if the master lost his life, the servant would also die.

This was a very unfair contract, but in order to survive, the mutant pig had no choice but to sign the contract.

Yang Tian took the contract and left a soul mark on it. As long as his soul mark was on it, the mutant pig would become his slave.

This was a Level-1 contract, thus applicable to Level-1 creatures only. The mutant pig was a Level-1 creature, so it met the right conditions. However, that didn't mean that the contract would be nullified once the mutant pig reached Level-2. As long as it signed the master-recognition contract, it would be valid no matter what level it reached.

Perhaps the humans in the early stages of the apocalypse didn't know how to use the soul mark, but it wasn't a problem for Yang Tian.

He simply had to withdraw a tiny bit of his soul and put it into a contract with a level-1 mutant beast. This was a piece of cake for him.

Having a Level-1 mutant beast in the early stages of the apocalypse would save him lots of trouble.

"Ding!"

The contract was formed.

The contract disappeared, but some sort of solid connection was created between the mutant pig and Yang Tian.

The mutant pig let out a soft snore and as its master, Yang Tian immediately understood what it meant.

The pig was starving. This posed a problem for Yang Tian. With its sheer size, it must have a huge appetite.

However, in order to recover quickly, Yang Tian was willing to sacrifice a lot. After all, with the help of a Level-1 mutant beast, he would be able to collect a lot of supplies in the early days of the apocalypse.

Yang Tian took out a bag of rice from the warehouse, which, he assumed, would be able to fill the mutant pig's stomach for now.
