C5 Energy Crystals
"Looks like I'm going to have to kill you first."
Adjusting his state, Yang Tian re-focused his attention on the Red-shelled Beetle.
Realizing that its attack had worked, the Red-shelled Beetle let out a thrilled shrill as it launched another offensive. Unfortunately for it, this time Yang Tian was prepared.
After exchanging a few rounds, all the Red-shelled Beetle's limbs had been cut off, leaving its body writhing on the ground. The Beetle wanted to instigate another attack, but at this point, it was just akin to a piece of fat meat on a chopping board.
"You still want to fight?"
The Red-shelled Beetle intended on flapping its wings to attack Yang Tian, but the latter didn't have that much time to waste on a bug.
Although the Red-shelled Beetle was coated in red armor, and the Tang Saber was unable to pierce through it, its eyes lacked the armor's protection.
Without hesitation, Yang Tian's saber pierced directly through its eyes and into the brain.
"Sizzle!"
As Yang Tian crazily twisted his weapon, the Red-shelled Beetle let out an agonizing roar. Soon enough, it succumbed.
Meanwhile, on the other two battlefields, the mutant pig was getting intensely overpowered, while the fruit tree had already had its branches and vines inside its enemy's eyes, precipitously absorbing its innards. Shortly afterwards, all that was left of the Red-shelled Beetle was a pile of red armor.
Yang Tian was awe-struck as he gaped at the fruit tree. Its level had to be higher than the beetle's to be able to eradicate it so quickly.
Although he was unsure of the fruit tree's level, he still had to save the mutant pig from the Red-shelled Beetle. After all, it was its first aid in the apocalypse.
As the battle between the two mutants raged on, they didn't notice Yang Tian behind them.
Yang Tian swung his Tang Saber and sliced the Red-shelled Beetle's hind limbs. Caught unaware, the insect was maddened as it prepared to turn around and attack Yang Tian.
However, Yang Tian ordered the mutant pig to snare the Red-shelled Beetle with all its might. Using its weight advantage, the pig heavily pressed its opponent beneath it.
Grasping the opportunity, Yang Tian slashed at the Beetle with his Tang Saber.
After seven consecutive slashes, he had cut off all its remaining limbs, and in a flash, he pierced through the Red-shelled Beetle's eye, completely extinguishing its vitality.
Normally, otherworldly creatures had energy crystals in their heads, the two Red-shelled Beetles were no exception. Yang Tian used his Tang Saber to gouge them out.
Though the Red-shelled Beetles' energy crystals could enhance the strength of the consumer, they were not the kind of crystals Yang Tian wanted, so he would not absorb them. But he kept their carcasses as they were rich in proteins, capable of supplementing one's physical strength.
The Tang Saber couldn't penetrate the Red-shelled Beetle's armor, but the fangs of the mutant pig were sharp enough.
Under Yang Tian's command, the mutant pig dragged the carcass of one red-shelled beetle and flayed its armor, revealing its white flesh.
As the mutant pig stared at the unexpected disclosure, it couldn't help but involuntarily salivate. It stared pleadingly at Yang Tian, as if begging to savor the white meat straightaway.
Yang Tian handed half of the Red-shelled Beetle's meat to the mutant pig to aid it in quick recovery from its injuries. He also took a palm-sized portion himself and ingested it.
Soon enough, Yang Tian's physical strength had been restored. The mutant pig which had wholly swallowed its portion also quickly recovered, aside from some insignificant wounds.
Soon the last Red-shelled Beetle was peeled open by the mutant pig, but this time Yang Tian resorted to preserving it as dried meat, along with the flesh of the poultry and pigs. This was all done to preserve the food and prevent its quality from waning.
Yang Tian parted the Red-shelled Beetles' armors and used them to dry chunks of their meat. At the moment, his top priority was to ensure that he survived the first three days of the apocalypse.
Yang Tian recalled that there was a town some distance from his manor. If guessing correctly, eighty percent of humans in it had been consumed by otherworldly creatures by this time.
"Bam!"
Knocking sounds resounded outside Yang Tian's door, causing him to frown.
"Help... help me! Please open the door!"
"Open the door! Please!"
Outside the manor, there were a few panicked voices most probably from people in the adjacent town. However, the town had already been occupied by otherworldly creatures, the survivors would have long hidden. How come they would come to his manor now?
"Looks like there's no one here. Let's break in, yeah?"
"This iron door is very firm. Let's climb over the wall! You girls wait for us outside. We'll open the door for you once we are inside!"
Yang Tian, who was inside the manor, was very curious.
It was actually a group of students?
"Outsiders are not welcome in my place. Get lost now!"
Yang Tian opened a small hole in the iron door and looked outside, only revealing half his face.
Sure enough, there was about twenty students dressed in school uniform outside.
"Sir, please let us in. A lot of monsters suddenly appeared out there! We have no where to go."
Clad in a black outfit contrasting from the other school uniforms, a woman with a slightly cold and elegant appearance came forward and pleaded. She was doubtlessly their teacher.
She looked so familiar! No, it couldn't be her!
"What does it have to do with me? Go away now! Don't make me come out and chase you guys away!"
The creatures from the other world were very sensitive to the aura of humans. With so many people gathered, a large horde of otherworldly creatures would definitely be attracted. In Yang Tian's eyes, they were a group of poisonous tumors that had to be driven away immediately.
"Sir, can you ..."
The woman was cut mid-sentence as Yang Tian abruptly shut the iron door.
"Get out of here now!"
Yang Tian's refusal made the woman speechless, but her students didn't buy it.
"Teacher, why are you begging this kind of person? I say we should just rush in. There are monsters everywhere and it's very dangerous for us to stay outside!"
"That's right, teacher. Let's just barge in. With so many of us here, should anything happen to us, even the school wouldn't afford to take the responsibility"
"But..." Whilst the woman was hesitant, the boys were already climbing over the wall, preparing to force their way in.
They wanted to come in?
Yang Tian had plenty of means to deal with these kind of students.
A strong boy was the first to stick his head out of the wall, but the first thing he saw was the sole of a shoe. In the next moment, he fell back to the other side.
"Oh!"
"Hu Jun, are you alright? What happened?"
A group of students immediately surrounded him and helped him up.
"He kicked me down!"
The others saw the shoe mark on Hu Jun's face. By kicking him and not injuring him, they thought that Yang Tian had shown mercy.
