C14 Third Elder Sister Jiang Siqi

After whispering to herself for a bit, Jiang Xiaoxiao left with a heavy heart.

Jiang Nan turned to head back, but just past the main entrance, he found himself encircled by Zhang Qi and his crew.

"Kid, hand over your phone! I've never seen one this nice before. Let me enjoy it for a couple of days!"

Jiang Nan took a quick look; about seven or eight guys, radiating aggression, looking like sophomores.

He didn't recognize any of them and was clearly at a disadvantage.

The group closed in on him swiftly, drawing a crowd of onlookers.

The bystanders were all too eager to watch the drama unfold, some even having asked Jiang Xiaoxiao for autographs before.

Jiang Nan felt a knot in his stomach, facing seven or eight of them, uncertain if he could handle the situation.

"Here's the deal: apologize to me, kneel, and call me 'grandpa,' then we'll call it even!"

Jiang Nan would never stoop so low. "No way," he declared.

The group tightened their circle around him, cracking their knuckles menacingly. Jiang Nan realized he was trapped.

"Get him!"

At the command, they lunged at him, but suddenly, four or five people burst from the sidelines, shielding Jiang Nan behind them.

These were Ye Ziqian's friends. Seeing Jiang Nan cornered, they had rushed to his aid.

But the odds were against them; four or five couldn't outmatch seven or eight.

Ye Ziqian and his group took a beating but stood by their friend. Amidst the turmoil, Jiang Nan miraculously remained unscathed.

The fight was lopsided, though, and soon, the four or five defenders were downed.

Ye Ziqian, the last to hold out, took a brick to the face from Zhang Qi, collapsing as blood poured out.

Zhang Qi and his gang closed in on Jiang Nan, smug with victory. "Kid, do you submit?"

"Ah!"

Just as Zhang Qi's hand was about to strike Jiang Nan, a large, sturdy hand gripped his wrist tightly.

He glanced up and spotted a man in a suit, his face set in a stern expression.

"Who are you, daring to interfere with my affairs?"

Zhang Qi lost his temper, and seven or eight others were about to go after the cheetah again!

With a swift shoulder throw, the cheetah sent Zhang Qi crashing to the ground. Then, as fast as lightning, he raised his fist and knocked another to the floor. He fought as if he were born for it, and within minutes, all seven were laid out on the ground!

Jiang Nan breathed a sigh of relief. The cheetah was clearly not one to be underestimated.

"Who is this guy? So formidable. Is he special forces?"

"He seems to be Jiang Nan's bodyguard. That guy's got some luck!"

The crowd murmured among themselves, but Jiang Nan paid them no mind. Ye Ziqian and his group, who had been protecting him, were severely injured. He hurriedly dialed 120 for an ambulance.

Jiang Nan stood vigil in the ambulance with Ye Ziqian, whose injuries were particularly grave, causing Jiang Nan great concern.

Upon reaching the hospital, they were rushed into the operating room. Jiang Nan waited outside Ye Ziqian's OR, fraught with anxiety.

Before long, a nurse emerged and inquired, "Hello, young man. What's your relationship to the patient inside?"

"I'm his friend. What's the issue?"

"He's sustained serious injuries and requires an immediate blood transfusion, but his blood type is RH negative, and our hospital doesn't have enough in reserve."

"How can that be? Dijing Hospital is renowned nationwide, with countless patients seeking treatment daily. How can you not have this blood type?" Jiang Nan was livid. He had specifically chosen the best hospital and couldn't believe they were facing such a predicament.

"Well, sir, the patient in Operating Theater 7 also needed a transfusion, and all our blood supplies were redirected there. However, his injuries are less severe. Perhaps you could speak with him?"

Outside Operating Theater 7, Jiang Nan approached in a fury. As the doors swung open, out came none other than Zhang Qi!

Jiang Nan's anger boiled over. He confronted him, demanding, "You barely scratched yourself, and you're hogging the blood supply?"

"I'm all in!" Zhang Qi declared with a hearty laugh. "My uncle runs this hospital. I deliberately orchestrated that kid's predicament! Hahaha! It's just one life. Did you know, with no blood in the blood bank, the death gets chalked up to a medical mishap. I'm off the hook. I only have to answer for intentional harm. What's the point of being tough? Money rules!"

Jiang Nan's brow furrowed, his teeth gritted. His fist hung in the air, unable to strike.

Just then, a middle-aged, bald man in a white coat emerged, saying, "So, you're Jiang Nan! Harassing my nephew, do you have a death wish?"

"Doctors should be compassionate. Remember the duty you carry."

The bald man burst into laughter. "Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Zhao Yan! Your friend's fate is in my hands. Saving him isn't out of the question. Just offer up your face, and let my nephew land a few slaps!"

Jiang Nan bit down hard on his resolve. He couldn't stand by and let Ye Ziqian die, not when he was the cause. He'd live with that regret forever.

With fists clenched, he presented his face to Zhang Qi.

"Still trying to act tough? I'll show you just how formidable I can be!"

"Go ahead, lay a finger on him—I dare you!" As Zhang Qi's hand was poised to strike, a chilly female voice cut through the tension.

All eyes turned to see a tall, striking figure with gold-rimmed glasses and a sleek high ponytail, not a hair out of place—none other than Jiang Nan's elder sister, Jiang Siqi.

"Director Jiang, what brings you here?" Zhao Yan cowered at the sight of Jiang Siqi, like a chick before an eagle in flight.

Jiang Siqi paid him no mind, pulling Jiang Nan to safety. "Tell me, is this hospital named after the Jiangs or the Zhaos?"

"Of... Of course, it's Jiang!"

"Well then, Director Zhao, in a hospital that bears my family's name, what exactly do you think you're doing by attacking my brother?"

The nurses, Zhao Yan, and Zhang Qi were all taken aback, and even Jiang Nan himself was astonished to learn that his third sister was actually the director of the nation's top hospital, the Imperial Capital Hospital!

Zhao Yan was terrified, shaking so much that she lost her footing and fell to her knees.

Zhang Qi was drenched in a cold sweat. How could Jiang Nan have such an influential sister?

"The Jiang family never seeks conflict, but if anyone dares to bully my brother, they'll regret it," came the stern warning.

Quick-thinking Zhao Yan sprang to her feet, yanked Zhang Qi out of bed, and dragged him before Jiang Nan. "Director Jiang, Young Master Jiang, this boy is at your mercy!"

Yet Zhang Qi refused to back down. If he caved now, how could he ever hold his head high at school again?

His injuries were minor, and in a burst of defiance, he stood up and taunted, "Jiang Nan, go ahead and try to lay a hand on me!"

With a resounding "smack," Jiang Nan unleashed a powerful slap.

The force of the slap seemed to jolt Zhang Qi into realization. He remembered his father's words: if he ever crossed the Jiang family, he would disown him.

It dawned on him that he had been utterly foolish, forgetting that Jiang Nan was Jiang Xiaoxiao's brother. Had he considered that earlier, maybe...

Ultimately, as he had predicted, Zhang Qi was humbled by reality. He groveled back, praising, "Well done! Young Master Jiang, that was a good hit!"

"If Young Master Jiang isn't satisfied, feel free to hit me a few more times. Don't hold back!" Zhao Yan chimed in, egging him on.
