C9 Lin Luoluo
"Ah..." Lin Xiaoqiang let out a pained cry.
He leaped to his feet, his face ashen.
"Help me," came a voice, melodious and inviting.
He had never heard such a dulcet tone before, soft and somehow tickling to the ear.
Turning towards the sound, he saw a girl in red, struggling to rise.
Her injuries were severe, preventing her from standing.
Wounds marred her shoulders, abdomen, and thighs, her clothes soaked with blood.
Lin Xiaoqiang, unable to bear the sight of a beauty in distress, hurried to assist her.
"Not far from here, there's a cabin. Take me there. I have medicine with me; you can help me apply it. I'll be grateful," the girl said weakly.
Lin Xiaoqiang, initially without ulterior motives, felt a spark of excitement at her promise of gratitude.
"My goodness, she's going to thank me? Could it be with her body?" The very thought made Lin Xiaoqiang salivate.
As he supported the girl, his hands trembled, and his gaze involuntarily drifted to her most vulnerable spots.
Though groggy, the girl sensed Lin Xiaoqiang's leering and inwardly seethed, 'You jerk, just wait. Once I'm back on my feet, you're dead.'
Oblivious to her inner fury, Lin Xiaoqiang wallowed in his unsavory fantasies.
The girl's body exuded a subtle, intoxicating scent that was barely there yet utterly addictive.
"Hey, what's your name? Who are you people? Why are they after you?
Does your family have any adults? You're not an orphan like me, are you?" The girl was so frustrated she felt like spitting blood. This guy was a real chatterbox.
Lin Xiaoqiang pressed on, spotting a wooden house ahead that resembled a quaint vacation cottage.
The door was ajar, swinging open with a gentle nudge of his foot.
Inside, there was a bed, and on the floor lay items that would make anyone blush.
Lin Xiaoqiang gave the girl a swift kick, sending her out the door before he shut it firmly behind her.
He gently laid her down on the bed and inquired about the location of the medicine bottle.
With the girl's voice barely a whisper, Lin Xiaoqiang had no choice but to lean in close, pressing his ear to her face.
The nearer he got, the more intoxicating her subtle scent became, stirring unwelcome thoughts in his mind.
He quickly shut his eyes, chastising himself for his indecency.
He was no saint, but he knew better than to exploit someone's vulnerability.
The girl indicated that the medicine bottle was in her chest pocket.
Lin Xiaoqiang reached out to find it.
But something felt off; it wasn't the bottle.
He looked up to find the girl glaring at him fiercely.
Like touching a hot stove, Lin Xiaoqiang jerked his hand back, yet the sensation lingered, sending a shockwave through his heart and fogging his mind.
"I swear, it was an accident," Lin Xiaoqiang stammered out an apology.
The girl closed her eyes, resigned to her fate, thinking, "You little scoundrel, just wait. Once I'm better, you'll get what's coming to you."
Seeing her eyes shut, Lin Xiaoqiang cautiously extended his hand once more.
This time, with utmost care, he retrieved a small vial from her chest pocket.
He began to apply the medicine to her wounds.
Most areas were straightforward, except for the lower abdomen, which proved tricky.
The injury was perilously close to a delicate spot and was also the most severe.
"Listen, I'm not trying to cop a feel here," he said defensively.
"Widow Zhang from the village was practically throwing herself at me, and I turned her down. That makes me one of the good guys.
I would never touch you like this if it weren't for treating your wounds..."
The girl remained silent.
Lin Xiaoqiang hesitated, then offered, "Maybe I should close my eyes?"
Still no response from the girl.
With another moment of hesitation, Lin Xiaoqiang shut his eyes.
But as soon as his hand made contact, he heard her scream.
Feeling that something was amiss, he withdrew his claws and opened his eyes, only to realize he might have been a bit excessive. But the thought of healing someone brought him peace of mind. Disregarding whether the girl would cry out, he exposed the wound and applied the medicinal powder.
The powder's composition was a mystery, yet its efficacy was remarkable; the treated area was already healed. Lin Xiaoqiang felt reassured.
He glanced at the girl, unsure if she was simply exhausted, but she was sound asleep regardless.
After a taxing day, Lin Xiaoqiang's stomach rumbled with hunger. Finding the room empty, he stepped outside, determined to find food. He couldn't venture too far, though; leaving the girl alone didn't sit well with him.
Behind the house loomed a mountain blanketed in majestic white snow. As he admired the view, a creature resembling a rabbit darted past. With a swift throw of his knife, he struck it and retrieved his catch. The creature was rabbit-like but significantly larger. It was more than enough for both of them, even with a few extra mouths to feed.
He gathered dry wood, sparked a fire, skinned the rabbit, and began roasting it. The aroma of cooking meat soon filled the air. Tasting a piece, he found it quite satisfying. He tore off some of the choicest cuts and carried them inside.
The girl was awake, glaring at Lin Xiaoqiang with venom in her eyes. "Hey, I saved your life, and this is the thanks I get? Believe me, I could do much worse right now," Lin Xiaoqiang threatened with a menacing gesture, frightening her into silence.
"It seems I must have owed you in a past life," he muttered, offering the meat to her lips. Initially defiant, she planned to refuse. But the betraying growls of her stomach revealed her hunger.
The girl mused to herself, "Well, since he's already seen and touched me, I might as well go ahead and eat."
With that, she began to eat voraciously.
She devoured all of Lin Xiaoqiang's prepared meat.
Feeling revitalized after her meal, she mentioned she was thirsty.
Lin Xiaoqiang fetched some Bai Xue for her to quench her thirst.
As he busied himself, a peculiar burnt odor wafted through the air, prompting him to realize he had left his meat cooking for too long.
Dashing outside, he discovered one side of the meat had been reduced to char.
Frustrated, Lin Xiaoqiang couldn't stop muttering under his breath.
Meanwhile, the girl, unable to contain her laughter inside the room, found her anger dissipating.
Yet, she wasn't about to let him off the hook that easily. In secret, she began to channel the Great Yin Technique, drawing in energy from her surroundings to heal her wounds.
