"Young Master Xu, did he offend you?"

Luo Yun cautiously inquired after noticing Xu Shengjie's gloomy expression.

He had seen Xu Shengjie apparently angry at someone when he arrived, but the only other person present was Chu Tian.

Xu Shengjie nodded somberly.

Men often got petty when it comes to matters involving women. This was particularly true for Xu Shengjie, who couldn't tolerate the fact that Wang Mengyao still had feelings for Chu Tian.

Being the son of the Trade Revenue Bureau's director, Xu Shengjie thought he was far more accomplished than a so-called loser from a small county.

"With your status, the management of Longteng Hotel will respect you. Have him thrown out and dismissed. Let's see how he can show off here then," Luo Yun whispered to Xu Shengjie, proposing a dubious plan.

Luo Yun wanted to create trouble for Chu Tian, but given the low standing of his own family's restaurant, he wouldn't be able to pull it off himself.

However, with Xu Shengjie involved, the outcome would be entirely different.

After all, Longteng Hotel's business tax was regulated by the Trade Revenue Bureau.

Upon hearing the suggestion, Xu Shengjie nodded, finding the idea quite appealing.

They were adults now; teaching opponents through physical fights was too primitive and only led to temporary bodily harm.

But if Xu Shengjie could publicly humiliate Chu Tian and jeopardize his job, it would be far more satisfying than hiring a thug to beat him up.

With this thought in mind, Xu Shengjie signaled to the security guards, whispered some instructions, and one of them hurried off.

"Chu Tian, you can still kneel and apologize. Maybe Young Master Xu will show mercy. Once the guards are here, it'll be too late for pleas," said Wang Gaoyuan.

Chu Tian didn't even give him a glance.

"You don't know what's good for you. Let's see how long you can keep this up," Wang Gaoyuan muttered disdainfully.

In less than three minutes, a potbellied middle-aged man in a suit arrived, led by a security guard. "Young Master Xu, long time no see! You look particularly dashing today," he greeted from a distance.

"Director Cai, I have a matter to discuss. Is Chu Tian an employee of your hotel?" Xu Shengjie asked.

"Chu Tian? We don't have anyone by that name," Director Cai responded, clearly puzzled. As head of human resources, he was familiar with all the employees but had never heard of Chu Tian.

However, Director Cai noticed Xu Shengjie's sad expression and cautiously asked, "Young Master Xu, did he offend you?"

"Yes, he has made me quite unhappy. I don't want to see him here," Xu Shengjie confirmed with a nod.

Director Cai examined Chu Tian briefly, then skeptically inquired, "Sir, who are you here with? Do you have an invitation?"

"He doesn't have an invitation. He claims to be an honored guest verbally invited by the Ye Family," Xiang Fei interjected.

"The Ye Family? Don't be ridiculous! I'm in charge of hosting their guests for this event, and everyone on the list has arrived. Your name isn't on it," Director Cai scoffed. "You dare to create trouble on Longteng's turf? Security, escort him out!"

"Let's see who dares to do that!"

Just as the security guards prepared to act, a booming voice echoed through the quiet hall. Instantly, all eyes turned towards the source of the sound.

Ashan strode toward them with a aggressive steps.

Behind him, Ye Tianxin, tall and clad in a light purple gown, was a picture of nobility and grace. Despite Ashan's dramatic entrance, all eyes were on her.

This was Ye Tianxin, the granddaughter of the Ye Family, and a figure many high-ranking officials and nobles aspired to please.

Even the CEOs of listed companies in attendance felt compelled to lower their status in her presence.

Her identity as the heiress of the Ye Family was enough to command such respect.

As the crowd was momentarily stunned, Ashan and Ye Tianxin reached Chu Tian. They exchanged respectful nods.

Ye Tianxin felt a twinge of disappointment when she didn't see awe in Chu Tian's eyes. Did she lack even a bit of allure in his presence?

Who could captivate Chu Tian's heart, then?

"Miss, Master Shan, what brings you here?" Director Cai rushed forward to greet them.

"What, are we not allowed here?" Ashan retorted, his face cold.

"That's not what I meant. Given your status, you shouldn't be on the first floor," Director Cai clarified.

'Really? If we hadn't come to the first floor, we wouldn't have witnessed your audacity. Isn't it a bit too arrogant of you to try to expel a guest of the Ye Family?" Ashan rebuked.

"A guest of the Ye Family? Master Shan, this man is a guest of the Ye Family?" Director Cai's eyes widened, his face a picture of disbelief.

Xu Shengjie, Wang Mengyao, and their companions were stunned. Could what Chu Tian said be true? Was he genuinely a guest of the Ye Family.

"What's the matter? The Miss is present; do you still have doubts?" Ashan frowned, visibly displeased.

Chu Tian had been invited to the cocktail party to strengthen his relationship with the Ye Family. Yet, even before the event officially started, he'd already faced ridicule from two separate groups.

No one would be pleased to find themselves in such a situation.

"I wouldn't dare," Director Cai hastily shook his head.

"Mr. Chu, how should we handle these people?" Ashan inquired.

Chu Tian gave them a brief glance. Their earlier comments had been hurtful. While he didn't want to argue with them, he wasn't about to let them off the hook either.

Then he would treat them in the manner they wanted to treat him.

"I don't want to see them. Throw them out!" Chu Tian said faintly.

"Alright," Ashan replied before turning to the security guards. "Do I need to repeat Mr. Chu's instructions?"

After a moment's hesitation, the security guards sprang into action. First Luo Yun, followed by Xu Shengjie and Wang Mengyao, and finally Director Cai, were all escorted out.

Only when she was removed did Wang Mengyao fully recover from her shock. Chu Tian did indeed have connections with the Ye Family.

In contrast, her boyfriend, Xu Shengjie, was unceremoniously thrown out.

She had thought that choosing Xu Shengjie over Chu Tian was a wise decision. But what was the reality?

At least for this moment, Xu Shengjie was expendable trash, while Chu Tian was in a league of his own.

As Wang Mengyao was being ejected from the hall, she saw Chu Tian ascending to the second floor, escorted by members of the Ye Family.
