C6 Level Three Fox Demon!
A level three fox demon!
The upgrade had brought about a tremendous increase in power.
With a combat capacity of 468, it was quite remarkable.
And thanks to his numerous talents, Chen Guo's actual fighting prowess was even higher.
So, he set his sights on the Zhang estate.
Having cleared out the red-haired zombies in Blackwater, Chen Guo had become intimately familiar with the town's layout.
He had already dispatched most of the easily located red-haired zombies.
The remaining few were tucked away in some room's corner or roaming in someone's home, making them difficult to track down.
At this point, Chen Guo needed 2,500 Slaughter Points to level up, and the red-haired zombies, worth a mere 60 points each, were no longer worth his effort.
His attention turned to the Zhang estate.
The largest manor in Blackwater, the Zhang estate, though in ruins, still radiated the opulence of a wealthy household.
It was clear that this was the abode of Blackwater's most affluent family.
The estate was heavy with Yin Qi. At level two, Chen Guo's heightened spiritual sense had warned him of danger, so he had stayed away.
Now at level three, the sense of peril had significantly diminished.
It was time to explore the Zhang estate!
Upon pushing the decayed gate of the Zhang estate, it crumbled instantly.
Inside, most of the pavilions and towers had fallen, leaving only the grand hall standing.
Unusually, there were skeletons in ragged clothing scattered across the grounds of the estate.
They appeared to be servants of the Zhang family who had met with disaster and failed to escape.
Chen Guo had no interest in the estate's history; his focus was solely on slaying monsters, particularly formidable ones!
After several rounds through the estate's courtyard, Chen Guo had eliminated more red-haired zombies, boosting his Slaughter Points by 560.
But he still had a considerable distance to go before leveling up.
Therefore, Chen Guo proceeded to the grand hall of the Zhang estate.
Inside the hall, the furniture was decayed, and the floor was littered with various talismans. As soon as Chen Guo stepped in, the talismans disintegrated into white ash.
In the center of the grand hall knelt a skeleton clad in an apricot-yellow Taoist robe, a silver longsword in its grasp, with an Eight Trigrams plate strapped to its back.
It must have been a deceased Taoist priest.
Chen Guo's eyes were immediately drawn to the inscriptions before the priest:
"Lin Jiu, disciple of Mount Mao, descended the mountain on my master's orders to exorcise demons. Alas, I have failed to lift the curse from Blackwater Town. Old Master Zhang has become a red-haired zombie! With all my strength, I sealed Old Master Zhang, but I too suffered grave injuries. Powerless to ascend to the heavens, my life ends here."
"I implore my fellow disciples from Mount Mao to gather my remains and elders to vanquish the zombie! The calamity of this world has dimmed the heavens and the earth. My seal will hold for only a century! Once a hundred years pass, the seal will weaken, and the zombie will break free from its coffin, bringing suffering upon all living beings..."
The final character was left unfinished, abruptly halting the message. It seemed Lin Jiu, the Taoist priest, could no longer persevere.
"I wonder if this Lin Jiu could be replicated..."
A daring thought flashed through Chen Guo's mind.
Before Chen Guo could act, her spiritual sense sounded an alarm. She swiftly sidestepped, narrowly evading a crimson assault.
"Fresh meat, fresh blood, I'm so famished, so parched!"
"I'll devour you, devour you!"
It was then that Chen Guo noticed her assailant was a red tail, belonging to an old woman with wrinkled skin and vacant eyes, her lower half that of a fox, marked by a striking red tail.
"Level 3, Leader-class Demon Fox Yin Susu, fighting capacity: 500!"
It was a Leader-class Demon Fox!
With the Demon Fox's stats in mind, Chen Guo was confident she could handle it.
"Devour you, devour you!"
The Demon Fox, its mind clouded, brandished its tail like a whip, lashing out at Chen Guo.
Chen Guo engaged her super evasion, darting to Lin Jiu's side and drawing his silver treasure sword.
"Ding! You have acquired the Seven Star Sword of Mount Mao!"
"The Mao Mountain Seven Star Sword, boasting an Attack Power of +41 and equipped with an Evil Warding effect, is the premium demon-slaying gear for disciples of Mao Mountain!"
Chen Guo was well aware that fighting with a weapon was a whole different ballgame compared to going barehanded. Especially since he was a master of bladed weapons, and with a treasure like this sword at his disposal, not using it would be downright foolish.
Brandishing the sword, Chen Guo engaged in combat with the demon fox.
Lacking any real intelligence, the demon fox could only parrot the phrase "Eat you!" while lashing its tail around as if it were a whip.
It didn't take long for Chen Guo to decipher the demon fox's predictable patterns. Spotting an opening, he teleported instantly behind the creature.
With a swift motion, Chen Guo's sword came down, severing the fox demon's tail!
"Ah!"
The fox demon screamed in agony, its attacks becoming wild and erratic, exposing even more vulnerabilities.
Within a handful of exchanges, Chen Guo's Seven Star Sword found its mark, plunging into the fox demon's heart.
"Lin Jiu, Lin Jiu, Lin Jiu... you can't die, you mustn't..."
With those cryptic last words, the fox demon collapsed.
"You have slain the Level 3 boss, fox demon Yin Susu, earning 2000 Slaughter Points!"
A radiant glow enveloped Chen Guo, propelling him to level 4.
Chen Guo now understood that boss monsters were a different breed from their common counterparts, offering a hefty bounty of Slaughter Points.
Approaching the fox demon's lifeless body, Chen Guo placed his hand on its back and initiated the Omnipresent Duplication.
"Ding! Duplication activated. You've copied Yin Susu's Charm value times ten. You've obtained Yin Susu's Heavenly Demonic Whip Technique!"
Tales of the fox's seductive powers were legendary, so acquiring its Charm value was hardly a surprise. This attribute could render one more handsome and charismatic. Since the beginning, Chen Guo's own attractiveness had significantly improved.
But the true delight for Chen Guo was the Heavenly Demonic Whip Technique. This method of whip mastery was of unparalleled subtlety, far surpassing the cold weapon skills he had copied from Liu Loong.
Withdrawing his hand, Chen Guo returned to Lin Jiu's corpse and extracted the Eight Trigrams Plate from his back.
As soon as the Eight Trigrams Plate was in her grasp, it crumbled into fragments, scattering across the ground as a heap of debris.
"It looks like time has taken its toll. Apart from the Seven Star Sword, nothing else has withstood the ravages of the years!"
"Let's give copying Lin Jiu a shot!"
Chen Guo mused, placing her hand on Lin Jiu's back.
"Ding! Duplication initiated. You have successfully duplicated Lin Jiu's Mao Mountain Body Technique, Yellow Turban Warrior Technique, and Heavenly Master Talisman!"
[The Mao Mountain Body Technique's level surpasses that of the Simplified Tai Chi Fist, Army Body Fist, and mastery of cold weapons. It will integrate these skills!]
"Mao Mountain Body Technique: A self-defense art of the Mao Mountain disciples, skilled in a full array of weaponry!"
"Yellow Turban Warrior Technique: Recite the incantation to briefly summon a Yellow Turban Warrior for combat, who will be one level beneath you!"
"Heavenly Master Talisman: Craft talismans from paper and empower them with your own blood, unleashing fiery attacks that can vanquish evil!"
"This time, I've hit the jackpot! It's a windfall, all because I got the jump on everyone else—the spoils are mine alone!"
Chen Guo was ecstatic, grateful for her foresight in being the first to strike.
Had she trailed behind the others, these treasures would have been snatched up long ago, leaving none for her.
