C3 Martial Arts Modification System
"Young Master, are you truly set on learning martial arts?"
Pang Lin, the head of the household guards, regarded Jiang Dao with astonishment. "Pursuing martial arts means enduring great hardship. And even with all that effort, success isn't guaranteed. At your age, your bones are set, which could make significant progress challenging."
"Don't worry, Uncle Pang. I'm well aware of the difficulties," Jiang Dao assured him with a nod.
Old Master Jiang clapped Pang Lin on the shoulder and declared, "Pang, Dao's martial arts training is in your hands now. Rest assured, he will regard you as his teacher from this point forward!"
Pang Lin quickly rose to his feet, protesting, "Master, please don't say such things. I couldn't possibly presume to be the Young Master's teacher."
"If I say you're fit to be his teacher, then you are. There's no need for modesty!" Old Master Jiang insisted.
Jiang Dalong gave Pang Lin's shoulder a reassuring pat and turned to Jiang Dao, "Dao, go ahead and pay your respects to your master!"
"Master Pang, greetings," Jiang Dao said promptly.
He could immediately grasp Jiang Dalong's intent. By establishing this mentor-student bond, he aimed to ensure Pang Lin's loyalty, so that even if future troubles arose, Pang Lin would hesitate to act against the Jiang family. And should Pang Lin ever decide to take action, it was unlikely he would go so far as to harm Jiang Dao.
Pang Lin quickly stepped forward, helping Jiang Dao to his feet. "Young Master, you're too courteous," he said.
"Master Pang, from now on, you are my teacher. Should I err, I ask for your guidance," Jiang Dao stated.
"Young Master, rest assured, I'll teach you everything within my power," Pang Lin responded earnestly.
"Pang, I entrust Dao to your care," Jiang Dalong said with a slight smile, then departed.
Pang Lin exhaled deeply and beckoned Jiang Dao, "Young Master, follow me."
He led Jiang Dao out to the vacant courtyard.
"I've lived my life without children, and I had plans to pass on the Crazy Staff Technique to a chosen disciple in a few years. But now that you wish to learn martial arts, I will teach you the entirety of the Crazy Staff Technique."
With that, Pang Lin grabbed an iron staff and swung it fiercely, its shrill ring slicing through the air.
"Young Master, the Crazy Staff Technique consists of eighty-one moves, divided into three distinct realms. The first realm focuses on speed, the second on strength, and the third on integration.
In this final realm, if you can seamlessly blend all eighty-one moves in an instant, you'll wield immense power. I myself am currently at the second realm."
Pang Lin swung the iron staff, demonstrating the technique in the courtyard.
With each move of the Crazy Staff Technique, he meticulously explained it to Jiang Dao.
Suddenly, Pang Lin's brow furrowed, and he called out, "Young Master?"
Jiang Dao, who had been intently following along, seemed to drift away in thought.
Snapping back to attention, Jiang Dao urged, "Go on."
Pang Lin nodded and resumed the demonstration of the Crazy Staff Technique before him.
Meanwhile, Jiang Dao's thoughts wandered elsewhere.
A voice echoed in his head, "The Martial Arts Modification System is now officially activated!"
Did he actually possess such a system?
A pale green panel materialized before him.
Name: Jiang Dao
Strength: 0.8
Speed: 0.8
Spirit: 1.2
Martial Arts: Crazy Staff Technique (modifiable)
He rubbed his eyes cautiously, looking over the information repeatedly, excitement bubbling within him.
He reined in his emotions, striving for composure. Despite his urge to delve into his attributes, he couldn't afford to tune out Master Pang's instruction.
Over the next four hours, Pang Lin covered every nuance of the technique with Jiang Dao.
"Should you have any further questions about the staff technique, Young Master, do not hesitate to seek my guidance," Pang Lin offered.
"Of course, thank you, Master Pang," Jiang Dao replied promptly.
With a slight nod, Pang Lin set the staff aside and departed.
He harbored a silent hope for Jiang Dao's dedication, having imparted all his knowledge to him.
Jiang Dao wasted no time heading to his room.
It was clear to him that he alone could perceive this mysterious panel.
Once inside, he closed the door and fixated on the attribute panel. It bore an uncanny resemblance to a game he had played in his past life.
The realization dawned on him when he noticed the 'modifiable' label, and he knew exactly what to do.
Focusing intently, he pressed on the Crazy Staff Technique option.
Instantly, the technique began to evolve.
A new line appeared under the description of the Crazy Staff Technique: Crazy Staff Technique (Ten Years Later).
A torrent of information rapidly flooded Jiang Dao's mind. His once slender frame now appeared significantly more robust. Thick calluses had formed on his palms as if by magic. His arms took on a bronze hue, and his muscles swelled, enlarging his stature as though he had been training in martial arts for many years.
Jiang Dao was astounded by the transformation of his body.
Ten years later?
Did this mean he had been honing the Crazy Staff Technique for a decade?
Did he now possess the strength of ten years' worth of practice?
The Martial Arts Modification System could alter the time he had spent training.
With a surge of excitement, Jiang Dao's gaze fixed on the panel. He was eager to discover just how far the Crazy Staff Technique could advance. He concentrated and pressed the "modifiable" button.
The Martial Arts category kept evolving.
The status of the Crazy Staff Technique progressed.
Twenty years later.
Thirty years later.
Fifty years later.
Sixty years later.
At last, the Crazy Staff Technique ceased its metamorphosis.
The panel underwent a complete overhaul.
Name: Jiang Dao
Strength: 1.2
Speed: 1.1
Spirit: 1.2
Martial Arts: Crazy Staff Technique (Sixty years later) (Not modifiable)
Jiang Dao could instantly sense an entire shift within his being. His body unleashed a surge of power, his mind teeming with intricate details as if he had endured decades of rigorous martial arts training.
Prominent veins surfaced on his body, twisting like earthworms across his arms before receding from view.
His once pallid complexion revived to a healthy hue. His frail form was now as if revitalized by a Great Replenishing Pill, banishing any trace of malaise. His shoulders, back, and thighs were now adorned with slabs of solid muscle, rendering his figure far more imposing.
"Have I truly acquired the might of sixty years' practice of the Crazy Staff Technique in a mere moment?"
His arms and fingers had grown, not just in strength but in size. A faint noise accompanied the clenching of his hands.
But what was paramount was the revelation in his mind that the Crazy Staff Technique had reached Great Completion.
He had not only mastered the three known realms of the technique but had also pioneered a fourth.
Pang Lin had always taught that the Crazy Staff Technique comprised only three levels.
After Jiang Dao advanced the Crazy Staff Technique by sixty years, it unexpectedly unlocked the fourth level. The power of this new level was ferocious, akin to a tiger devouring its prey, brimming with a Murderous Aura that set it apart from the previous three levels. This level was imbued with such an intense Murderous Aura that its sheer force was more domineering than the combined might of the first three levels, capable of rendering people unconscious in an instant.
"This system is incredibly potent."
Jiang Dao's mastery of martial arts had soared to heights that Pang Lin could never dream of reaching in his lifetime. But this breakthrough led Jiang Dao to wonder: if he could modify the Crazy Staff Technique, could he do the same with other martial arts?
Intrigued by the possibility, he decided to experiment. Despite Daoist Priest Changbai's claims that martial arts practice was futile, Jiang Dao suspected otherwise. With the Martial Arts Modification System at his disposal, he could scarcely fathom the extent of power he might wield if he were to master additional martial arts disciplines.
Eventually, with centuries of martial arts prowess accumulated, Jiang Dao could face any formidable Evil Spirit with confidence, knowing he had the strength to vanquish it with ease.
