C10 Yang Fann Vs Lei Bao

In a modest shack halfway up Ink Bamboo Peak, Yang Fann was leisurely cooking Level Three Exotic Beast meat, occasionally sprinkling on some salt, Sichuan pepper, and other spices—a relaxing diversion from the rigors of martial arts training. After all, obsessing over training can backfire; relentless practice sometimes yields the opposite of the desired effect!

As Yang Fann attentively tended to his cooking, the door burst open. Qin Hu stormed in, his face alight with glee, barely containing his excitement as he bellowed...

"Junior Brother Yang Fann, I've got incredible news! Luo Cheng got thrashed! He's in such a sorry state, it's hard to even look at him. There's not a single part of him that's not battered. His face is swollen like a pig's head, and his limbs... I'm afraid they're utterly ruined. Forget martial arts—he'll be lucky to walk like a normal person again. It's so gratifying, truly gratifying..."

Qin Hu couldn't help but punch the air triumphantly as he spoke. "Yang Fann, you should've seen it. They were carrying him down the mountain, and his screams... just like a pig being slaughtered. With his swollen face, anyone would've thought there was an actual pig being butchered..."

Yang Fann couldn't help but chuckle at Qin Hu's animated display. He was well aware of Luo Cheng's pitiful condition, having been the one to cripple him. Luo Cheng was now bound to his bed for life. But Yang Fann kept these thoughts to himself, knowing that truth and falsehood aren't always clear-cut, and sometimes the truth is less believable than a lie.

Luo Cheng was a formidable fighter, ranked in the top twenty, while Yang Fann was a mere underdog. The gap between them was vast, like heaven and earth. Despite his recent gains in strength from consuming exotic beast meat, Yang Fann knew he was still far behind Luo Cheng.

"Mmm, that smells amazing! Yang Fann, is the meat ready? I'm heading to the mess hall to grab some fine wine. Tonight, we brothers must celebrate properly. I've long had a bone to pick with Luo Cheng—he's been nothing but trouble for us. Now, he's finally gotten his comeuppance!"

"Absolutely! Brother Hu, tonight we'll drink to our heart's content!" Yang Fann replied with a hearty laugh, genuinely feeling this occasion called for a celebration.

But then, suddenly...

"Yang Fann, come out here this instant!" A voice as thunderous as the roar of Thor echoed across Ink Bamboo Peak.

"Is that Lei Bao?"

Qin Hu's face went pale, and he turned to Yang Fann, puzzled. He couldn't fathom when Yang Fann had managed to provoke Lei Bao, the Sect's notorious Dark Star. A hint of worry crept into his expression; he had repeatedly advised Yang Fann to lay low and avoid trouble with Lei Bao's crew, lest he fail the upcoming assessment and be expelled from the Sect. "Junior Brother Yang, why must you be so rash!"

"Lei Bao, so you've finally arrived?" A glint of anticipation shone in Yang Fann's eyes. He had expected this. As the old adage goes, when you strike a dog, you must watch out for its owner. By crippling Luo Cheng, Lei Bao's top henchman, Yang Fann had openly challenged Lei Bao. It would have been odd if Lei Bao hadn't reacted.

Exactly what Yang Fann had hoped for—no need to seek out Lei Bao himself!

"Brother Hu, this isn't on me!" Yang Fann said, a hint of injustice in his glance at Qin Hu before he turned and strode away.

"Yang Fann, you little brute, I'll see you dead. Senior Brother Lei, you must seek vengeance for me!" Luo Cheng's voice was a mix of blood-curdling sorrow and seething hatred.

Qin Hu, who had just followed Yang Fann out, froze, his expression one of shock. Luo Cheng, injured by Junior Brother Yang? How could that be possible?

Yang Fann had been consuming Exotic Beast meat daily, particularly that of Level Three beasts, which boasted benefits many times greater than Refreshing Soup. Yet, even with that advantage, Yang had barely broken through to the Second Layer. Not being eliminated was an achievement in itself. Compared to Luo Cheng, a peak Third Empyrean martial artist, Yang was leagues behind. A sneak attack from Yang Fann would hardly scratch Luo Cheng, let alone injure him!

"Did I hear that right? Luo... Luo Cheng was actually hurt by Yang Fann?"

Disbelief was written all over Qin Hu's face, mirrored by the other disciples who had emerged after Lei Bao's roar. They couldn't fathom it.

Yang Fann, the acknowledged waste of Ink Bamboo Peak, and Luo Cheng, the uncontested top twenty expert? The two were worlds apart; Luo Cheng could have pummeled Yang Fann single-handedly into an unrecognizable state.

"Yang Fann, have you lost your mind? Junior Brother Luo is your Senior Brother, for heaven's sake. How could you strike him down so ruthlessly? Is there no sense of brotherhood within our sect left in you?" Lei Bao stepped forward, looming over Yang Fann with a mix of sorrow and righteous fury.

"Ha! Lei Bao, you're one to talk, shamelessly at that. How many Senior Brothers have you injured and driven from the sect over the years? At least eighty, right? And you dare lecture me about brotherhood?" Yang Fann's words, sharp and unyielding, stripped Lei Bao of his dignity in front of their peers, leaving him red-faced with rage.

"You conniving little brute! You've seriously injured Luo Cheng and still think you're in the right? You believe you're above punishment?!" Lei Bao fumed.

"All these excuses, just to avenge Luo Cheng? Well, it so happens I've got a score to settle with you too. Show me what you've got!" Yang Fann's laugh was cold, his eyes glinting with the promise of retribution.

"Is Yang Fann out of his mind, talking back to Lei Bao like that? Does he have a death wish?"

The disciples stared, their eyes wide as they looked at Yang Fann as if he were a monster. Lei Bao was the unrivaled champion of Ink Bamboo Peak, a top-tier martial artist even among the Seven Stars Sect's disciples, a far cry from Luo Cheng's caliber.

"Yang Fann, don't be reckless!" Qin Hu was inwardly panicked, wanting to intervene, but before he could move, Lei Bao's snarl stopped him cold. "Yang Fann! If I don't give you a thrashing, you'll really think I'm just a figurehead as the Senior Brother of Ink Bamboo Peak!"

In the very next moment...

"Boom!"

A colossal explosion erupted from within Lei Bao's body!

The skies thundered with rage!

The Thunder God unleashed a ferocious roar!

"Rumble!"

Lei Bao's aura went wild, surging with a frenzied intensity. A malevolent presence spread in every direction, with air waves churning and swelling like an unstoppable tide. The disciples serving as spectators scattered, retreating rapidly as sweat poured down like rain!

"It seems Yang Fann has truly provoked Lei Bao this time!"

"He's done for! Yang Fann is as good as dead!"
