C19 He Didn't Want to Work for Others!

Xiao Ge pushed open the iron door, and a blast of even colder air surged out. He stepped inside, and the door shut automatically behind him. Stunned, Xiao Ge found that the scene before him was nothing like he had anticipated.

The cold hit him first. The basement was frigid, more akin to a walk-in freezer than a room. Even he shivered upon entering, but thankfully, the Genuine Qi within him quickly circulated, dispelling the chill and allowing him to adjust.

Despite the cold, the basement was far from dark. Bright lights bathed the space in an unnatural glow, giving Xiao Ge a clear view of his surroundings.

The basement was vast and empty, the hundreds of square meters containing scarcely any objects. Xiao Ge's gaze, however, was drawn to a figure standing at the center of the room.

With her back to him, he could still discern she was a woman, and one with a striking figure at that.

Barefoot on the carpet, she wore only a pair of tight leather pants that were so short they barely covered the tops of her thighs, leaving her long, pale legs almost entirely exposed—startlingly beautiful.

She wasn't voluptuous, but her curves were exquisite, her waist so slender it could only be described as serpentine, exuding an irresistible allure.

From just her silhouette, the woman's charm was potent enough to captivate any man, and Xiao Ge could feel his heartbeat quicken. Yet, he harbored a nagging concern—her silver hair. It cascaded down to her waist, lustrous and shiny, but it made him question her age. Could this woman simply be an old enchantress who had aged gracefully?

As Xiao Ge wrestled with his doubts, the woman turned to face him.

His apprehension vanished, replaced by awe. Any previous concerns were now a distant memory. She was undoubtedly young, her face as lovely as a doll's, seemingly no older than a teenager. Her upper body was scantily clad in a short vest that barely covered what needed to be hidden, the fabric stretched taut, hinting at the grandeur beneath.

"This is the epitome of 'baby-faced with a killer figure'!" Xiao Ge marveled inwardly.

With her doll-like porcelain face, slender waist, and shapely long legs, topped with breathtaking curves, she was the embodiment of alluring beauty concentrated in one person—a girl as bewitching as a siren. Her silver hair added an otherworldly charm, marking her as a creature of pure enchantment, one who seemed too mythical for this world.

"No wonder they say you shouldn't go out. Being devastatingly gorgeous is one thing, but dressing in a way that could cause a national crisis? Step outside, and you're bound to stir up trouble," Xiao Ge mused, gazing at the enchanting girl before him.

He had always assumed that Xiaoqi and Xiaoba's so-called boss was a man, but he could never have imagined that their leader would be such a stunning girl. This encounter was proving to be more than worthwhile.

"Are you Xiao Ge?" The girl's voice cut through his thoughts, her tone soft yet piercingly cold, as if devoid of any warmth. But Xiao Ge wasn't surprised; what else could be expected from a girl who had lived in the chill of an ice cave?

"Yes, that's me, Xiao Ge, the most dashing young man around. And you are?" he replied with a hint of cheek.

"I'm Scorpion," she answered crisply, "President of the Sky Scorpion Corporation. Everyone calls me boss. Wang Manzi, whose hand you broke, along with Xiaoqi and Xiaoba, are my underlings."

"Scorpion?" Xiao Ge blinked in surprise. Such a beautiful girl with such an unusual name? As for the Sky Scorpion Corporation, he had his suspicions. She likely operated in the grey areas, merely masquerading under the guise of a legitimate business.

"Indeed, I am the venomous Scorpion," she affirmed, her voice as cold as before but with an undertone of solitude that most would miss. She fixed her gaze on Xiao Ge and continued, "Xiaoqi and Xiaoba are among my most skilled men. You managed to disarm them with ease. I believe you're trained in martial arts, so I'm prepared to offer you an opportunity."

"What kind of opportunity?" Xiao Ge inquired.

"Join our Sky Scorpion Corporation, and I can act as if nothing ever happened." The beautiful Scorpion's request was anything but beautiful.

Xiao Ge shook his head. "I'm a good student. I plan to study diligently and keep improving. Working for someone else isn't in my plans right now."

If Su Yunman heard him, she'd probably want to smack Xiao Ge upside the head. How could someone who flirted with teachers and skipped classes call himself a good student?

"I suggest you think it over before you respond," Scorpion said, her voice as icy as ever. "You won't be able to handle the consequences of rejecting me."

"Actually, I'd like you to reconsider your approach," Xiao Ge replied earnestly, locking eyes with Scorpion. "You might not be able to handle the consequences of threatening me, either."

"I'm not one for idle chatter. Since that's the case, I'll start by teaching you a lesson!" Scorpion's gaze was frosty as she lunged into action without finishing her sentence.

Her waist contorted eerily, and her whole body followed in a rapid twist. Her hands, mirroring the motion, came together and shot out towards Xiao Ge like striking serpents, blending allure with a deadly threat.

Surprise flickered in Xiao Ge's eyes. Scorpion's assault was unexpected, and there was no question about it—she was a true expert, a genuine martial arts master.

"I really dislike violence," Xiao Ge said as he deftly stepped aside, avoiding Scorpion's attack with ease. "Especially against beautiful women."

"You're more skilled than I gave you credit for," Scorpion admitted, a hint of surprise in her stunning eyes. She hadn't anticipated Xiao Ge's evasion, but she wasn't done yet. Her body, supple and swift, contorted once more, and she launched her bare foot at Xiao Ge with the speed of lightning.

"It seems that the best way to stop violence is still with violence," Xiao Ge sighed, his reluctance clear. This time, he didn't dodge. Instead, he reached out quickly and grasped Scorpion's ankle with precision, applying just enough pressure to ensure her leg couldn't pull away.

"Release me, now!" Scorpion's face contorted with panic, his voice laced with urgency. "If you value your life, release your grip at once!"
