While most people's sign-in systems were still at Level One, Ye Chen's had already ascended to Level Three.

Tension immediately gripped the chatroom.

"We haven't even secured food and water yet, how are we supposed to fend off wild wolves?"

"Is the person who called for help earlier still around?" Regrettably, the first person to cry out for help was no longer responding.

"Ming'er, get back in the car."

Concerned for their safety, Ye Chen quickly ushered Yang Ming'er into the vehicle.

Currently, Ye Chen wasn't certain if there were wild animals on the island, but he knew the car was the safest place.

With a car and weapons at his disposal, Ye Chen's safety was relatively assured. The other survivors, however, weren't as fortunate.

"Is anyone selling a dagger? I need to buy one!"

Daggers, being basic weapons, were suddenly in high demand.

Ye Chen, armed with his Mountain Splitting Axe, had no interest in the diminutive daggers.

"Can you handle a weapon?"

Although he suspected Yang Ming'er might be unfamiliar with weapons, Ye Chen asked her anyway.

Yang Ming'er shook her head.

But moments later, she exclaimed with excitement, "I can use a bow and arrow! I've even won awards in archery competitions."

It was a surprise to learn that the celebrity had such a hobby.

Ye Chen quickly accessed the Synthetic System.

"Wooden Bow and Arrow: Level D weapon. You can create one through synthesis."

"To make a wooden bow and arrow, you need two bamboo sticks and a rubber band."

Getting a weapon directly from the trading system was proving difficult for Ye Chen, but he discovered someone was selling rubber bands.

"Two bottles of drinking water in exchange for five rubber bands."

"Two bottles of drinking water for four rubber bands."

Ye Chen swiftly completed both trades.

"Who took my rubber bands? I was about to cancel that order."

"My rubber bands were bought out too."

"You're incredible!" When Yang Ming'er saw Ye Chen with nine rubber bands in hand, she realized he was the one who had outmaneuvered the others.

"Thanks for the heads-up," Ye Chen said, giving Yang Ming'er an appreciative thumbs up.

Wooden bows and arrows are considered Level D weapons. By combining two such bows and arrows, one can create a repeating crossbow.

Furthermore, with two repeating crossbows, a firearm blueprint, and an iron weapon blueprint, it's possible to synthesize a pistol.

Lacking a nearby bamboo forest, Ye Chen was unable to craft a bow. Seizing the opportunity before sunset, he drove around the lake.

On the lake's northern shore, he discovered a vast lawn spanning several thousand square meters, bordered by a karst cave to the north.

Traversing the cave from south to north led to an expansive beach with stunning scenery.

Ye Chen surveyed the surroundings.

It was an ideal location for constructing a base.

The karst cave to the north served as a natural barrier, with the lake to the south.

All he needed to do was erect fences to block the pathways on either side of the lake and build another fence along the northern edge of the cave. This would effectively turn the sprawling lawn into his own personal kingdom.

As Ye Chen pondered his future plans, a deep, resonant wolf howl echoed in the distance.
