C42 Only Those with the Celestial Spiritual Root Could be Together with the Female Ruler.
Jiang Su and Wang Tian talked deep into the night.
The main house on Sword Wing Peak and the adjacent room glowed with light. Elder Chiu Yue remained inside the main house, his activities a mystery to all.
Jiang Su and Wang Tian were well-acquainted with Elder Chiu Yue's unique approach to disciple training. It was a challenging path; their masters often handed them a pile of arcane books and expected them to learn on their own.
Only when they both admitted to feeling tired did they wrap up their conversation for the day.
Jiang Su softly shut the door behind him and made his way from the left room to the right.
His footsteps echoed on the wooden stairs, a sound that apparently reached Elder Chiu Yue, prompting him to emerge from the main house.
"My disciple, you've done well. I'm aware you spent the entire afternoon engrossed in your books," he said.
Jiang Su responded with a modest wave, "Good evening, Master. To be honest, I didn't spend quite that long reading."
Elder Chiu Yue regarded Jiang Su approvingly, stroking his beard as he spoke, "In today's Cultivation World, many cultivators, particularly the younger ones, are restless. It's rare to find someone who can dedicate so much time to their studies as you do."
Before Jiang Su could reply, Elder Chiu Yue continued with heartfelt words, "I am truly proud of you. Despite possessing the Celestial Spiritual Root, you remain unassuming and courteous. I understand that pursuing multiple aspects of cultivation simultaneously is exhausting, a feat not everyone can maintain. But remember, if you persist and stay the course, you are destined to become the most powerful cultivator in the Lower Realm and achieve Ascension."
Caught off guard by the unexpected praise, Jiang Su felt a hint of bewilderment but managed to express his gratitude, "Thank you for the kind words, Master."
The moon cast a serene glow in the sky, its beauty enhancing the ambiance of Sword Wing Peak.
Observing Elder Chiu Yue gaze heavenward, Jiang Su assumed he was moon-gazing. Just as he was about to excuse himself to return to his studies, Elder Chiu Yue mused aloud, "Do you know? The spouse of our Devil Sect's esteemed Female Ruler is none other than a Prince of Tianqi, born without a spiritual root."
Jiang Su nodded in agreement.
"It would be perfect if the Female Ruler took a liking to you. With your handsome features and the talent of a Celestial Spiritual Root, only someone like you could be a match for Her Majesty!"
Jiang Su was relieved he wasn't in the midst of tea and conversation with Elder Chiu Yue. Otherwise, he might have struggled to keep his tea from spraying out in surprise.
He offered a sheepish smile and suggested, "Perhaps this Prince possesses some exceptional quality that captivated the Female Ruler's interest."
Elder Chiu Yue let out another sigh and instructed, "Return to your room and study your book."
Jiang Su shared with Elder Chiu Yue the details of his conversation with Master Wen earlier that day.
"Master, Master Wen has asked me to start a medical stall tomorrow. If anyone in our Devil Sect has issues with their health or cultivation, I'll do my best to assist them. It's a good opportunity to gain experience as a medical cultivator."
"Very well, proceed with that plan. And take Wang Tian with you."
Jiang Su nodded, bowed respectfully to Elder Chiu Yue, and retreated to his room.
With a simple gesture, he illuminated the room's lanterns.
"Could the Empress of the Devil Sect that Elder Chiu Yue mentioned be the sovereign of the Ten Great Devil Domains in the Cultivation World? She's incredibly formidable! To think a woman has managed to unite the Ten Devil Domains. But why would she choose an unremarkable man to be her consort?"
Jiang Su remarked casually, "If my own master is at a loss, what chance do I have of understanding her choice?"
Seeing that Jiang Su was settling down to read, Shangguan Yue scampered off to sleep inside the sword. He wasn't particularly fond of reading, especially texts unrelated to Talisman Cultivation.
Once Jiang Su had skimmed through the All-sensory Spirit Vein Acupoints Records, he decided to rest.
The following morning, he rose early.
After reviewing the One Dust Sword Technique manual provided by Elder Chiu Yue, Jiang Su took up his Life Sword and stepped into the courtyard to begin his practice.
His techniques were fluid, like a dragon soaring through the sky. His sword energy etched numerous elegant arcs into the air, leaving behind a trail of sword marks. With every shift of his stance, the sword's tip danced accordingly. The blade appeared supple, yet it possessed formidable strength.
Wang Tian was roused from sleep by the sound of a sword cutting through the air. Once dressed, he stepped out to find Jiang Su practicing his swordplay in the courtyard, exuding an air of effortless grace. Jiang Su was so engrossed in his movements that he seemed oblivious to Wang Tian's presence.
A chef delivering meals caught sight of the scene and stood transfixed. This was the fabled Eldest Senior Brother, the reason countless female cultivators flocked to Sword Wing Peak, all eager to witness his singular charm.
Eldest Senior Brother was indeed captivating!
As Jiang Su continued his dance with the blade, the Cook Disciple, with his presence dialed down to nearly imperceptible, approached Wang Tian and handed him a lunchbox.
"Thank you," Wang Tian expressed his gratitude.
"No problem," the Cook Disciple replied without missing a beat, his gaze drifting back to Jiang Su. With a warm smile, Wang Tian offered, "How about joining me for a meal and enjoying the sight of Eldest Senior Brother's sword dance?"
The Cook Disciple paused, then accepted the invitation with a smile.
Opening the lunchbox, Wang Tian revealed a modest spread of simple dishes and rice, including several steamed buns to ensure a satisfying meal without an overindulgence of meat so early in the day.
Wang Tian passed a steamed bun to the Cook Disciple, who accepted it eagerly, saying, "I'll leave once I've finished this bun." He ate at a leisurely pace, his gaze fixed on Jiang Su, unblinking. Wang Tian chose not to call him out, focusing instead on his meal. After all, he too would need to practice his cultivation soon.
Shortly after the Cook Disciple departed, Jiang Su completed the first three forms of the One Dust Sword Technique. Blessed with the Original Sword Body, mastering these techniques came naturally to him, his talent for sword cultivation undeniable.
Jiang Su then joined Wang Tian, examining his acupoints and spirit veins. Thankfully, Wang Tian was free of any serious issues.
"Wang Tian, I'll be treating someone else shortly. Make sure you practice diligently—I'll be checking your progress when I return," Jiang Su instructed.
Wang Tian blinked in surprise. Jiang treating others in the First Devil Sect would surely draw the attention of the female cultivators. He couldn't let them overwhelm Jiang. In his eyes, only the Female Ruler herself was a match for Jiang.
"Jiang, I'm coming with you! You can't go by yourself; the Outer Sect's female disciples will swarm you!"
Jiang Su was at a loss for words and replied, "I'm going to provide medical treatment; naturally, I'll have to interact with the patient. What does that have to do with the Outer Sect's female disciples?"
In his mind, Wang Tian yelled, "Jiang, you're too naive!"
"You've got to let me tag along! I can study the Body Cultivator texts that Senior Yang Shuang gave me while I'm there."
Seeing Wang Tian's earnest look, Jiang Su gave in with a reluctant nod.
They descended from Sword Wing Peak and made a beeline for the Devil Sect's Medical Hall.
Wang Tian, of course, was the one leading the way.
The Hall Master of the Medical Hall was idly grinding herbs when he caught sight of two figures approaching. He didn't plan on acknowledging them.
"Jiang, this is Lin Ye, the Hall Master of the Medical Hall," Wang Tian introduced.
Upon looking up, Lin Ye, the Hall Master, was taken aback. Such a striking figure stood before him; undoubtedly, this was Elder Chiu Yue's Head Disciple, Jiang Hee, the Eldest Senior Brother of the Devil Sect!
He quickly mustered a welcoming smile and said, "Ah, so you're the elder's Head Disciple. It's a pleasure to meet you."
