C43 Thousands of People Came to Visit
Noticing Lin Ye's sudden shift in demeanor, Wang Tian felt an urge to give him a piece of his mind – with his fists. Lin Ye was the type to excel at buttering people up.
Jiang Su picked up on Wang Tian's irritation but remained silent for quite some time.
Lin Ye was on the verge of sweating bullets. He habitually overlooked and ridiculed those disciples without wealth, influence, or connections. Jiang Su, being a Foundation Stage cultivator, had been dismissed by Lin Ye as just another Outer Sect member, unworthy of his attention.
But Lin Ye hadn't anticipated someone of Elder Chiu Yue's Head Disciple's caliber making an unexpected appearance at the Medical Hall. Jiang Su showed no signs of illness, which was odd considering the Inner Sect masters had a wealth of precious items and elixirs at their disposal. Typically, Inner Sect disciples wouldn't bother with a visit to the Medical Hall. Today was proving to be an anomaly.
As Lin Ye's forced smile stiffened, Jiang Su finally spoke up, "Today, I'm here to provide treatment at the Medical Hall. Prepare the space and notify the Outer Sect disciples. Should they have any health concerns, they can come to me."
So, Jiang Su was here for hands-on experience. Lin Ye quickly agreed, summoning a few disciples to organize the Medical Hall and spread the word.
It didn't take long for the news to spread like wildfire throughout the First Devil Sect – Elder Chiu Yue's Head Disciple was offering medical services at the Medical Hall.
Once Jiang Su had acquainted himself with the layout, he directed the disciples to set up a table and three chairs near the dispensary. He and Wang Tian took their seats, ready to receive patients.
After the disciples had left, only Jiang Su and Wang Tian remained in the Medical Hall.
Then, they heard it – a crescendo of footsteps growing louder and more frantic. Among the approaching crowd were several female cultivators.
Wang Tian's eyes were glued to the Medical Hall's entrance, half-expecting the threshold to shatter under the onslaught of the frenzied mob.
A bevy of female cultivators burst in, their faces red with exertion. Some were so eager to be first in line that they dashed right up to Jiang Su.
Jiang Su was taken aback.
Were there really that many sick female cultivators in the First Devil Sect?
The girl who had sprinted ahead didn't look the least bit unwell.
The barrier had been crossed, indeed!
The girl at the forefront coyly covered her face with her sleeve, feigning shyness. She took a seat, her posture delicate, and gazed at Jiang Su with a tender voice, "Eldest Senior Brother, could you please examine me and identify the issue with my body?"
Jiang Su observed her for a moment. Her spirit vein was clear, her body showed no abnormalities. He responded, "Miss, your health is fine. Please don't interrupt my consultations."
She dropped her sleeve, disregarding the stares from those behind her, and murmured bashfully, "But I feel so dizzy."
Wang Tian wore an uncomfortable expression, thinking the female cultivator's behavior was rather excessive.
He had anticipated such a scene, yet it still surpassed his expectations.
The other female cultivators spoke softly, though their words were far from sweet.
"Sister, if you're not ill, why hold up Eldest Senior Brother from attending to us? Or perhaps you think too highly of your looks?"
"You sprinted here; that's hardly the pace of someone unwell."
The girl's cheeks reddened at their comments, embarrassed to be called out by fellow female cultivators in front of her idol. The shame was unbearable.
"It's alright. Your dizziness likely stems from excessive cultivation without sufficient rest. Just ensure you get more rest."
Her eyes sparkled at his words. Eldest Senior Brother's kindness knew no bounds! Truly her idol, he had defended her before an audience!
Her admiration for Eldest Senior Brother would never wane.
"Thank you, Eldest Senior Brother. I'll be sure to rest more," she said.
With Jiang Su's nod, she left with more pep than upon her arrival.
Jiang Su's intent was solely to provide earnest medical diagnoses. Little did he know, this girl would later dedicate herself to her cultivation, achieving notable success.
"Next," he called.
Another girl approached as the next patient.
She sat down, fixing her gaze on Jiang Su, and presented her hand, revealing a bruise. She must have collided with something earlier.
Jiang Su penned a remedy for the bruising and swelling on a slip of paper, following a recipe from Miracle Working. He handed it to Wang Tian, gesturing for him to fetch the medicine.
Wang Tian didn't need to worry about finding the medicine; each one was clearly labeled. Besides, he wasn't a modern Western physician, so Wang Tian would have no trouble deciphering his handwriting.
Wang Tian was utterly shocked. He had clearly seen the second girl, during the previous commotion, pinch herself hard to inflict an injury. She was desperate for Jiang Su to treat her, seizing the chance to speak with him. Wang Tian thought to himself how merciless the girl was.
He dutifully fetched the medicine with the prescription in hand and quickly passed it to the girl. This way, Jiang Su wouldn't be taken advantage of when personally handing her the medicine.
The girl caught on to his intent and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Jiang Su noticed the sudden blush on the faces of two girls and frowned, though he knew blushing wasn't an illness and refrained from commenting. He simply advised them to apply the medicine promptly.
He observed that the wound was fresh and knew that timely treatment would prevent scarring, something he understood girls were particularly concerned about.
As the second girl prepared to leave, Wang Tian was curiously watching the third girl's attempt at self-harm. Did she also pinch herself to cause swelling?
The third girl, dressed provocatively, waited until Jiang Su was completely unaware before lifting the hem of her skirt. With a sharp knife in hand, she sliced into her thigh. Witnessing this, Wang Tian was startled and couldn't help but admire her audacity. These girls were willing to risk their lives just to catch the attention of the heartthrob, Jiang Su.
The girl sat down, wincing in pain, as Jiang Su caught the scent of blood.
He sighed, relieved to finally see someone genuinely injured. His professional demeanor returned, and he inquired, "Miss, where are you hurt?"
Upon hearing Jiang Su's question, she pulled up her skirt to reveal the injury. Jiang Su immediately averted his gaze.
"Eldest Senior Brother, my thigh is wounded. It's very painful," she said.
Jiang Su kept his eyes away, mentally reciting, "I am a doctor; there's nothing I can't look at. I mustn't refuse to treat her just because she's a woman."
Jiang Su turned his attention back to her leg. He noticed that this wound was fresh, sliced by a blade.
He instructed, "Wang Tian, fetch a bottle of Gold Healing Medicine, and gather the rest of the herbs according to this prescription."
Handing over the written list, Jiang Su watched as Wang Tian promptly set out to retrieve the medicine.
He was at a loss for words; these female cultivators were wildly reckless.
Throughout the day, Jiang Su saw a steady stream of patients. Oddly enough, the majority were female cultivators, each with fresh wounds.
Nevertheless, he felt a sense of accomplishment. Their similar ailments provided valuable experience for his medical cultivation practice.
It was clear that his efforts in treating their illnesses were beneficial.
Wang Tian was profoundly moved, speechless at the antics of the female cultivators. Jiang's allure was undeniable.
